I need a swift kick in the a$$!!!

I'm yogurt and tofu happy right now. I figured out that I could eat 10 bryers light or yoplait lights for just 1000 calories, and get all my protien in. All while staying under 20 grams of fat! LOL No i'm not doing the yogurt diet LOL, but I have been eating more yogurt, sometimes three times in a day. I'm back to my lowest band weight, and I hope to move my ticker along. Angie I know you can do this, you have been doing so great. Just get back on track by measuring and writing everything down. If you are writing it down its alot harder justifying eating something that isnt' going to help us meet our goals. I'm not going to kick either....big hugs your way. Hang in there girl, and let me know if you want to meet for a fruit parfait one day (I'm addicted, i know).

    Hiatal Hernia!! WHAAAA???

Nah already knew you were crazy! LOL Karah said today, that she would give up getting a swing set to go to carowinds this summer. LOL, not that Dad has agreed to a swing set, but I thought that was sweet anyway.

Oh wow, I'm sure dr. Bauman can fix you right up. See getting ready for surgery you have discovered something that was wrong you didn't even know...kinda like my h pylori that could have caused me ulcers, but was found before that happen.

Though he told me the last hankerchief skirt was too young for me. Yeah that got him in alot of trouble LOL. Wavey I'm going with the girl scout troop, leaving paul and Karah at home. LOL, so won't go too fancy. LOL But I know the girls are all planning on wearing their prom dresses and social dresses.

How does your DD feel about your WLS?

My younger daughter is the athletic one, and she doesn't really eat "big" either....so part of it may be her diet. She is VERY active and simply can eat more than her unactive counterparts. Our problem with her right now she is 6 and only 43 inches tall and 39lbs. So she is shorter than most of her peers and our friends are always commenting on it. They stay stuff like " Well she is just going to be petite" and "She is just going to be dainty". I know this stuff bothers my oldest because even at 6 she was solid. I say solid because I don't think she was overweight, just "bigger" height and weight...than her peers. She has made statements that she has always been fat or that she doesn't ever remember NOT being fat. I try to tell her she wasn't fat...and of course that gets turned around to me implying that she is huge now. As females we are totally sensitive to anything weight related that I think most of us totally over react to it. She is currently in the "i'm not weighing" stage. She has been a vegitarian for almost two months now...and I think she looks like she has slimmed down...and have told her so. Not only does my oldest seem to be very sensitave to carbs just like me...she doesn't enjoy any active type of activities. So it makes it harder on her since she is prone to gain weight easier I think than her sister...and then she isn't active either.

How does your DD feel about your WLS?

This just recently hit home at our house too. My 14 year old I think feels threatened by my weight loss (even if it has been slow). She recently announced she is a vegitarian...and she has given up soda. All of this in an effort to loose weight before I get to her size! She is 1/2 inch taller than me and in a size 13/14. When I told her I got a size 16 jeans on (I looked very bad in them still lol) she kinda of got upset and made the comment that she has to hurry up and loose weight before I get into her jeans. I'm concerned about her because she does get very emotional about her weight at times. I know how it feels to feel trapped by the weight, unattractive because of the weight...I still battle those feelings. Most of all I feel its my fault through gentics that she is even having the weight issue. My youngest daughter has the opposite problem of not gaining weight and not growing at a steady rate. So on top of my loosing weight we have constant conversations it seems about her sister being so petite. I think she feels she got the bumb rap.

    American Idol

My 14 year old HATED Kelli...so she was estatic that she was gone. I don't like country that much and that was kelli's thing...maybe she will still do well in that? I really like Katherine, though I don't think she will win it. I'm thinking Chris has a chance. He and Katherine are my top picks, I hope the last three will be Taylor, Katherine, and Chris. Paris and Elliot have GREAT voices and are certainly talented....I just think the other three have more of an "IT" factor.

    NC's April Chat

Kim...It's only an exit or so down. from work so I'll check tomorrow. If they only have the black ones do you want it...the black ones don't have the tea spout...but you can order it. The tea spout just allows a larger glass to go under the spout...so you could put the ice in and then brew the tea right onto the ice. Of course my hubby has already figured out how to rig loose tea in a regular coffee filter. I tried to explain its suppouse to be convinent...not more labor intensive! LOL

    Weight Training-help Or Hindrance?

Oh I want to second that too.....a women is NOT going to become overly muscular without a lot of work. Women body builders have insance diets and suppliments to look like that. Body builders don't maintain the "show body" all the time either. It's actually UNHEALTHY for them to maintain it, since they diet in a "cutting" phase as they call it to lower their body fat percentage to as low as possible.

No the one at South Blvd...I always call that pineville, but in retrospect I think its technically charlotte still. Pineville is just on the other side of 85 from it I guess. I had to go back today to get my vitimans....they still had several of the coffee makers left if anyone wanted to run out to get one.

    Weight Training-help Or Hindrance?

Defiently do weight training...you may loose physical weight slower, but you will still be loosing inches. I dind't loose any weight this month, but lost inches. Make sure you measure. Here is a picture of the difference between 5lbs of fat and 5lbs of muscle...you decide which would look better.

    The Hormones of Fat Loss

The original tarzen....sombody Barker, is a distant relative of mine.....my one brush we fame. LOL Well that and John Adams who originally decided the atom was a round cell or something like that. I have his silverwear....he was some relative of my grandmothers. I think I'm getting some of the side effects of having all my different vitimans and hormones out of wack. Hopefully now that they have tweaked my medicine and prescribed vitimans I'll start seeing the scale move again?

It's a combanation of things. Not folliwing plan as well as I should or probally could (I'd say about 80-85%...with weekends being my downfall.) Not loosing as much weight at this point as I thought i should or could. Fighting the whole frustration and the bad attitude of "well I'm not loosing anyway why bother....or why not have that extra treat" I think part of it is I need a slight tweak. I have been concentrating on not drinking with meals. I even made it through spicey garlic tofu tonight without a sip. It wasn't pleasant and I won't be ordering that again...but I made it through. My vitimans were all screwed up too. My PCP who keeps having to be reminded of the type of surgery I had said "It's to be expected because of the malasorbtion" I've been given scripts for vit d and c, and told to take over the counter b1 and Iron. All of those vits affect metabolism...so maybe its making it a little toughier to lose? That combined with my sucky attitude it's a wonder I didn't gain more! LOL For you coffee lovers out there....I bought me a single cup pod type coffee maker today at target. Clearanced to 9.99! So now I can just brew one cup at a time. They also sell tea pods that can be used it. It was target in pineville if anyone else is interested. Or call me and I can pick one up tomorrow as I have to go back for my scripts. Its a Melitta

Hi gals. I saw the nutritionist today. No big surprises....no weight loss...her scale at least said I maintained.....mine says I've gained 3lbs. I like her scale better this week LOL. I'm going to start emailing her my weekend food diary...as that seems to be my problem days. Weekdays are better. I'm also going into the office next week and he is going to try and give me a tweak there. If he can locate the port easily enough he will do it in office....if not I'll have to make an appointment for the hospital for flouro. I don't think my port is hard to feel, but I'm not trying to stick it with a needle either. My pcp put me on supplements yesterday, but Dr. Bauman has his OWN protocal, so they called in a prescription for vitiamins today. Guess I'll do what dr. Bauman says....he is the cuter of the two docs.

    good morning foods

My standard breakfast is yogurt these days....but occassionaly skip that in favor of a skim sugar free latte. LOL Some days I have morning star veggie bacon...not sure how long it keeps though once cooked. I sometimes cook it and pack for lunch. It's crisp when cooked in the micowave and generally crisp is no problem. Protien shakes is another good idea. You could always pour them over ice if you don't have a way to keep them cold. I'm going on a cruise in June and already I'm thinking about what I'm going to eat. I'm not sure if its smart planning or just my obbsessiveness! LOL

    Secret Inspiration Clothes

I have a friend who just gave me her "fat" clothes (not that she called them that) but thats what they were for her. They are a size 14. I think I'd be thrilled to be in any of those. I'm a size 18 now. Though they are getting baggy somewhat, size 16 is to little. There seems to be more of a jump from 18 to 16 than there was from 20 to 18.

    May Get together thoughts

So are you at 2.5 cc's now? I have felt some restriction...but most of my problems with eating come from eating too fast or too big a bite. I think I finally have a handle on that. No pbs in over a week now.

    fill or no fill

I haven't lost any weight recently....a couple of months. I just found out through my 6 month blood work that my vitimains are all screwed up. My primary care doc increased my thyroid medicine too. I can eat quite a bit of food, even when I'm not drinking with my meal. I'm getting much better at that. I can even eat bread if I do it slowly and after 10 am. I can pretty mcuh eat anything if I chew well after 10 am. I dont' know if I should get a fill though, because I'm not sure I'm always making the best food choices. Yesterday I had a whole freaking slice of cake....it went down fine btw...and that was after lasagana. Now typically I don't eat that way daily...it was a dinner that our girl scouts did for us leaders. For instance...this is what I've ate today. Breakfast 930 am - fruit parfiat yogurt from McDonalds lunch 1:00 pm- 3-4 oz of rotiserie chicken (with gravey), and mashed potatoes, 1 piece of daughters california roll snack around 3pm- handful of daughters micowave smart popcorn snack- around 3 pm too a large mindless handful of jelly Beans (i dont even like jelly beans...so don't get this) dinner7 30pm - salad, with tomatoes, and onions and about 2 oz of porkchip small chocolate bunny thing around 3 pm with the popcorn and jelly beans(I wanted to prentend I didn't eat this right after i did) I've drank about 4 glasses of Water, a 20ox propel, and unsweet biggy tea from mcdonalds. I did drink with my yogurt this morning, but not with my lunch and dinner. As far as exercise goes, I was working out more before I actually started working for the Y. I'm only geting in about 3 hours a week now probally. Do I need another fill or am I just living in la la land and need to wake up out of my daze and try even harder? Be honest...I know I ate crap today...and yesterday...so maybe I dont' deserve a fill????? I'm seriously starting to worry that I'm never going to make it to goal or even below 200.

    May Get together thoughts

I'll be there, I really need to hang out with you guys too. I haven't lost weight, have even gained a couple of lbs. I'm having a rough time staying motivated. And it seems the harder I try the harder I fail. Going to ask about a fill, but not sure they will be all that supportive, the nutritionist seems a bit stingy with fills if you ask me. And since I haven't been a model bandster lately she will probally want to work on that and wait and see. That seems to be working out so well for me so far. (okay so I'm on the sarcastic side today I guess) I'm 6 months out officially now....was at 40lbs lost, now think it's like 37...sigh. Well off to the docs...got more blood work back and they want to "discuss" it. That's never good.

    Gardening Questions and Pictures

Gosh I love the country cottage looking garden...its so lively. What a perfect place to relax! We have Koi...not too many big ones right now as we had a Herion using our pond as an all you can eat buffet recently. Our biggest ones right now are only about 7-8 inches long. Our biggest ones last year were about 10 inches long. I don't know what the ground cover is called but right now its very green with very pretty purple flowers on it. I've notieced it transplants very well, as my friend wanted some for her yard, and now its taking over there too LOL. Her fault ya know. HEHEHE

    fill or no fill

I guess I unconciously was thinking "deserve" didn't even realize that I had worded it that way really. I'm going to be honest with the nutritionist and let her know I haven't been the best bandster, but my will power and motivation seem to be lagging heavily right now. Got alot of stress happening so maybe that factors in, but I need more help from my buddy I think. Don't know why I'm so afraid to ask the nutrionist about it....I'm sure I'm not the only person that hasn't been the model bandster. I just didn't want that person to be me. I've said this before, its alot easier to have willpower when you are loosing weight. I'm afraid I've actually gained about 3lbs since I last saw her a month ago, so I feel like I'm going to confession or something.

    Gardening Questions and Pictures

As long as you don't have alot of tree roots they are easy. LOL, unfortunatly digging the dang hole was the hardest for us...I should say me, hubby kept disappearing! LOL Once you get the hole dug its just a matter of getting it level...especially if you use one of the kits. Ours is actually pieces of two kits...as this is the second version. The first version sprang a leak and we had to drain it to locate it. Once drained we decided to rearrange the whole pond and bought a bigger preformed piece I think from lowes. I don't think we will redo this one again, but do plan to do a bigger pond at our next house (which is at least 2 years away for us). The most important thing is to make sure you have a big enough pump to get good waterflow. Waterflow is key.
