    Calling tattoed bandsters!

I posted ths on another thread somewhere recently. This is on the side of my lower left leg. I love my dragon. This was my first tattoo, because I have other plans. I haven't noticed any difference in the way it looks, but its not on a terribly fatty part of my body being as it's the lower leg.

    Proactive Band Removal?

I think if something happen to my band to need removing I would even consider rebanding after healing if that is possible. That would change of course maybe if he ordeal leading up to a band removal was very hard. And a big step for me, if I couldn't have another band I might consider a different wls option. I have all kinds of emotional demons regarding more envasive options in WLS...but I think I want to be a healtier weight more.

    Sept 2005 bandsters post here!!

Wow you guys have done great with your weight loss. I was banded 2 weeks to a month after most of you. But your stats are so good. I'm hoping the weight loss will pick up with my first fill next week. My nutritionist thought I was doing fine and didn't want to schedule a fill until now. She would have had me wait another month but I asked for it saying I can eat way too much. Anyway...congrats on your awesome jobs...you all are doing great.

Okay Kathy the above addy doesn't work if you just click on the link and go there for some reason...it's weird. But if you take that addy and paste it in the "insert picture" option on the signature it comes up. I breifly had your signature in my signature this morning. LOL The one in your email I sent has some extra thing in the front that you don't need so be sure to use the one above. Hope this works...crossing my fingers.

Oh thats tiny...if you want it bigger let me know. I'm disgusted with my scale and we aren't on friendly terms right now. My problem is I just don't freaking get it. Other than today when I ate tons of crap (not as much a pre band days though) I've done really good with portion control and I've done 7 freaking hours of shirt soaking cardio. I've gained 4lbs at this point. So my scale can just bite me....I'd kick it but I'd hurt my toe again.

Denika if you go to user cp on the blue bar at the top of the menu of the forums you will see "edit signature" That is where you need to go to put in the ticker. When you made the ticker the very first option (the http: address) is what you want. Just copy it from the website. Then while in edit signature click on the icon on the message box that looks like a little scene picture. it will bring up an address box. Just paste the address in there for the ticker. Hope this helps...good luck.

Harley you are welcome anytime. And we have mentioned before trying to get together at the coast or something some time during the summer. It's great having a group to turn to when you have those weird questions or trying to get over a particular hump. It's also great when you reach a goal of some sort or have a joy to share.

    Surgery Monday, sore throat today

What about just plain old vitiman c drops. Recently my youngest got sick and I was taking a big trip soon so I started eating these things. And zinc logenzers. I managed to stay well and go on the trip. Unfortantly I didn't take any while gone...came home didn't sleep well for a couple of nights because daughter was still sick and ended up sick. But I did manage to keep from getting sick for almost 2 weeks. I would be very reluctant to say anything about a sore throat too. Especially if hubby has had it and there are no other symptoms. Good luck. I wonder what Ginger does that you can't have it before surgery. I have an addiction to ginger candy....didn't eat any right before or right after but I do eat it pretty reguarlly.

You ladies are great. Thanks Angie for listening to me ramble and try to figure it on the phone. Kim thanks for calling back, it helps to know that I'm not totally unique with these pb's. Kathy, no I've just passed my auntie flo visit recently. But I am retaining alot of Water ....about 4lbs worth at least in my estimation...it had BETTER be water anyway. So maybe that water retintion is causing the promblem. I've stuck to shakes and mushies today, and will do the same tomorrow and then try to eat something tomorrow night and see how it goes. No more hamburger helper either...that stuff doesn't taste that great either direction.

Karen I know you can do it. I'm doing the gym thing pretty heavily again myself. And boy can I feel it today, especially in my thighs and butt. I wish the food thing was going better. I have had two major episodes with food coming back up this week. (I have spots on my face from broken capilaries?) This just wasn't one piece of food, but like everything. Both times I thought I was eating slowly enough and chewing well enough, maybe too much? I don't know, but I'm really starting to get nervous about getting a fill. I'm having trouble eating chicken and hamburger now. I'm doing mushies and liquids for a day or two and see how I feel this next week. I hate to cancel the fill since I've been wanting one for over a month.

    uh oh :(

The first 6 weeks is about healing....I know its discouraging. But you don't have a fill yet, and you probally just went from drinking all your meals to actually eating real food again. I gained a little back when I started on the solids again. Don't worry too much and concentrate on healing right now and learning to follow the banster rules.

    so whos working out?

I started back doing ab stuff at 6 weeks out. Though I think I'm still not doing ab wise what I was doing pre banding. It doesn't hurt, but after 6 weeks those muscles just don't want to work as hard. LOL They were probally one of my weaker areas too before banding. I do crunches in body sculpting class, and I do 2 sets of 12 @ 75lbs on the ab machine. On the side lateral ab machine I do at 80lbs 1 set each side. Not sure if thats the kind of info you are looking for...hope it helps. Basically if you do something and it hurts or isn't comfortable give it another week and try again. If you are using weights...start back at a lower weight level.

    pb/fill advice

No actually its just after. I'm going to concentrate on eatting slower. Thought I thought I was. Sticking to mushies for a bit too...nothing too hard like steak/hamburger or chicken for a day or too. Hopefully it won't happen again. I'm really wondering if it doesn't have something to do with the massive exercise effort I've been doing. 6 hours of cardio and 2 hours of weight lifting in the last 4 days and I'm feeling it right now. I know I retain alot of water when I lift weights, and I'm retaining now...so maybe it is similiar to retaining water when its that time of month? I've actually gained 2lbs this week, and i think that is water.

    pb/fill advice

This week I've had real trouble with getting stuck. I've not really had much experience with it except for occassionally eating too fast in the mornings. But monday night I tried to eat some hamburger helper (which I didn't want, but I was too tired to fix me a seperate dinner) I ate about 1/4 of a cup. Got stuck...but then it wouldn't go away, I kept slimming and I ended up throwing it up. Not just a little, but like all. I still have the spots on my face from where this happened. Then just a little while ago I was eating a chicken kabob with onions and peppers. It wasn't dry, and seemed to be working fine. Then I got stuck. I though...well just stop eatting...get up and walk around and it would be fine. I slimmed a few minutes, maybe 2-3 and it came back up. I'm rather worried now, since I am scheduled for my first fill next friday. I had NO restriction and now all the sudden I'm getting stuck and worse, not just pb but throwing it up. I've been working out really hard this week, maybe that is causing some swelling and hince the sudden restriction? I'm worried that it might be a bad idea to get a fill with this happening? Anyone else had this reaction to working out hard? Or had this happening in general?
