    Moving Along ... Again!

Once you have a date, you really won't care if its 1 month or three...believe me. Its like a huge burden lifted and you think "it's finally going to happen" And besides you have all of us to make the time go faster.

    Tomorrow's My Big Day....

Good luck tomorrow....Dr. B is great you will be fine. And its us that are going to be a bit jealous when you start loosing weight at turbo speed...right now I would settle for turtle speed...oh wait that might be where I'm at? LOL Give one of us a call to post on how you are doing if you think of it.

    February talk time.

Well I only lost 2 lbs this month...guess its better thant he O I thought I had lost. I just don't get it. Apparently I'm eating too many calories too...I thought I could eat 1000-1200. Nutritionist says I am suppouse to eat 800. I don't think I can keep doing my workouts on 800 calories, I'm so tired in the evenings now. Here I was thinking maybe I should be getting in more calories because on past diet plans I had to eat at the higher end of the calorie range to loose weight. I'm starting to get scared that I'm going to be one of the band failures that never makes it to goal. I try to talk myself into being positive, but like I said once before motivation is easier when the scale is moving. Starting tomorrow going to log everything that passes my lips, calories, fat, fiber, protien. I really don't want to get so religious about the food again that I cry when presented with only bad choices at a function. (yep this happened once years ago...felt so stupidly emotional over a piece of damn chicken.) At least some good news, I am 5'6'' and not 5'5'' like their chart said. Apparently they measured a buch of people wrong or something.

Thanks Kim, glad to hear Diane is out of surgery. Dr. V would have been in trouble if he couldn't put her band back...Diane is so fiesty she might have refused to leave the hospital till he did. LOL

Good luck tomorrow DIANE...I will be thinking of you! Let one of us know how you are doing so we can post. Karen, I hope you get a date tomorrow! Keeping my fingers crossed. Okay I went and bought myself a pricey body fat caliper ....its digital. So far I've had body fat percentage from 28%-32% LOL, so it ain't perfect...though i believe it is user error. I think I'm going to have pinch bruises everywhere...lol. If anyone wants to give it a shot let me know...I can bring it to our next get together or meet you somewhere to try it out. I haven't lost any weight in a month according to my chart, but I have lost an inch off my chest, and inch off my waist...so gotta be something happening right? Jennifer GOOD LUCK on WED. Wow our group is growing and with all the new surgerys hopefully growing towards the lighter side:).

Thanks, I just hope star got to feel apart of the adult conversation with Karah chatting her ear off about everything. Not sure I want to bring Kristen anymore, geez food police at full force! I love the idea of a picnic...that would be fun. Maybe we can even con hubbies into coming?....or is that going to be pushing it...it would take some conviencing on my part for my hubby I'm sure LOL. We sold a little over 100 boxes of Cookies yesterday at the booth from 1-5...boy were we cold it was OUTSIDE, bilo wouldn't let us set up in the breeze way like Harris teeter does...sigh.

FAV BABY PICS! (blame this on Lisa!)

Kristen with her new baby sister Karah, when she was still excited about having a sister. Less than a month later we were asked if we just couldn't take her back, she didn't want a sister afterall. LOL

    Okay Im a whimp

I rate it about a 3. I did the first child natural, and the pain was totally less than the epidural I got the second time. If...and there better not be...there is a third time, I'll do it natural again...so much easier than the epidural. The only time I was really uncomfortable was immediatly after surgery when I woke up in recovery. My bed was broke and they had some guy trying to fix it. His way of fixing it apparently involved a LOT of shaking of my bed. The bed couldn't be fixed so I was switched bed within 30 minutes of surgery. I would imagine the pain would be VERY similiar to a gall bladder surgery.

I just found out Paul will be staying over another night in Washington....but hey he gets free hotel tonight and TWO round trip tickets for taking a flight tomorrow instead of today. What does that mean....my kids will be there also. Kristen has agreed to eat soup...we will just karah and your little man at the opposite end of the table from Angie...don't want her tempted by their fries. Originally I told Kristen her and Karah couldnt' sit with us....should have heard the "you are ashamed of us?" speech/lecture I got. And Kathy....not only was her port cherry popped, but by the cutie surfer doc, dr. B! LOL Man that man gets around. LOL

HEHE, Angie YOU will look different, Your port cherry has been popped, there no going back now! Court, can't wait to meet you. Just like Karen said...its right off of 1-77, ya can't miss it. Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow. I haven't lost a single pound since last meeting?...Which sucks mega big time. But someone at work today told me I was looking great, and they couldn't believe how much weight I've lost. I've stopped saying to that...I haven't lost is such and such amount of time. Because SOMETHING must be happening!

    heavy lifting and exercise

I too was told to wait 6 weeks for heavy lifting (anything over 20lbs). I went back to weightlifting on the 6 week mark...no promblems. I also work in a child care center at the gym ...so I'm pretty sure that I moved some kids around before the six week mark that weighed more than 20lbs. There are some hefty babies out there . I think the heavy lifting restraint is more about not dislodging your port as you use your ab muscles to lift. But if you only had discomort at the time but not later, you are probally fine. As always if you are really worried about it, call the doctor and ask. No question is ever too silly and thats why we and our insurance companies pay them the big bucks. Good luck and congrats on hitting your 6 week mark, I know I was truelly thankful for that mark because I was on a regular bandster diet by then, and I felt I was TRUELLY on my way.

I get my fill tomorrow! WOOT!

It was really easy....the hardest thing was the little sting from the numbing stuff. And that wasn't bad. I drove home, and next time I'll go into work...could have this time, but decided since someone was working for me to take the day off .

Will my head ever adjust to the size of my stomach?

I usually share with my 6 year old. But lately I'm getting really tired of the sesame chicken she loves. So last night I ordered my own and of course had to take quite a bit of it home, even though I only ordered a "side" of fried tofu. I don't really care for rice at all anymore unless its attached to my sushi. I like the idea though of sampling from everyones else's plate but my family Never orders fish. And Oh lord the stuff hubby orders, I don't understand why his heart doesn't stop with the first bite. I really hope my family's eatting habits evolve to healthier choices soon....because I fear for their continued health sometimes.

    Scar Stages Share yours!

Stacey...I didn't think it was that bad pain wise. The worst part for me was when I FIRST woke up from surgery...before they gave me anything in recovery. I was cold and thought, oh my gawd, what have I done. Once I got a little pain medicine, I was fine. I still have MOST of the bottle they sent me home from the hospital with. After a day or so the only site that really hurt was the port site. I'm not sure if it was because it was the biggest or if it was because of the port itself. And on a scale of 1-10 it might of been a 3-4. Not too bad considering the benifits of the band. You will do fine, and the pain is only a few days for most of us.

I can drink a WHOLE protien shake, don't feel any restriction...but didn't expect to with liquids I guess. I haven't lost any since the fill, which of course is driving me nuts. I didn't get on the scale today because I was already in fowl mood and didn't need that added on. I'm also stopped up...this happened before on the liquid stage too...so going to take a laxative today to help things start moving.
