I have to admit - I'm addicted to weighing myself now! This morning I weighed before my shower and was down to 265, and because I was so excited I'd lost a couple more pounds I weighed right after to see the number again, but I was back up to 267! What gives? Also, do you tell your SO/Spouse how much you weigh? I didn't want to tell my BF, but he came with me to my first post-op appt. I made him wait out in the hall while I was weighed. Then, we were sitting in the room, waiting for the doc and I said, "Fine. I'll tell you." So, I spilled it..My highest, my pre-surgery, my at surgery, and my current. Not five minutes later, the doctor came in and said, 'Good news! You were 295 your first visit, 285 at surgery and now you're down to 275!" I just laughed and said, "Good thing I'd shared that information w/bf!" My poor doctor was so embarassed, and I was very glad that I had shared.

I had a dog once that ate a cat which made him gag.

I grew up in Annandale, and then moved different places after high school. I lived in Manassas and worked in McLean. I miss the seasons, but not so much the winter!

I think in either case it's because they don't have a heart, and are unsure of where it's supposed to be.

I'm there with you! My BF is slowly paying me back after moving her stuff from VA to TX over a year ago. Then, my mother who never planned well and is very poor is always borrowing money for rent, then I'll come over and she's ordered a flat screen tv - on credit. Ugg! How do you tell your mother no, when she really is broke? It's to the point that if my daughter has money on her, I tell her NOT to tell Grandma, or my mother will ask her - a ten year old! So, I hear you Chelle... People can't stand on their own sometimes - they don't know how because we keep bailing them out. It's a vicious cycle.

I hate how I think sometimes and I have to give myself a mental "SLAP". Anytime I have time to myself, I want to eat! I would stay home from school as a kid and eat junk (beginning in 1st grade, when I'd hide in the bushes and watch the bus go by, then go back home. Product of the latch-key kid days.) I used to make cookie-dough, eat the bowl, then wash it so my mother wouldn't find out. I wonder what she thought was happening to all the sugar, flour and eggs???? But, then, she used to hide the goodies in her drawers, until my brother and I found them. Also, I don't have any kind of trigger to stop me from eating. My family is like that...we'd go to buffets and be there for hours with plates stacked high. Ugg...now I can't picture that. I love my band, too!

We have candy coming out of the ears. I have brought in sugar-free candies and filled my drawer with them. There is a gentleman in the office who is a diabetic, so I told him any time he wanted, help himself. So, he and I were going through the drawer, picking out what we wanted when a co-worker leaned over and took a handful. I was shocked! My friend said, "Hey! Those are sugar-free - you don't need it, you can eat the real stuff. Put it back!" So, she did! Don't stand between a diabetic on a bad day and his SF candy!

Hi there...I'm in Spring and was banded in September. I'd also love to join ya'll for band support. -
Hi, Haydee and Marie - I would love to schedule a day/time. I'm booked on Saturdays for a while. I could do a Friday night or Sunday afternoon (not Nov 4th - we're going to RenFest). I'm not all that familiar with Old Town, but I can find it if you want to pick the place. :bounce:
-
As of this morning I could look straight down and see my toes! WITHOUT having to suck it all in! Mini-goal accomplished!

I picked the high end of my weight chart, which is 145 out of thin air (no pun intended.) I'm sure 145 is going to still be slighly overweight (my breasts are about 10 pounds - don't ask how I know that) and I have no idea how much my bones weigh, or how much extra skin I'll have. But, in the end, after losing 150 pounds I'm sure I'll re-evaluate it. I'm not sure it was a fear of failure...I just got overwhelmed with the bottom line number. I have no idea what weight looks good on me. I've been fat since I was 10. I as a size 10 at 16, for about a week, then gained it back. But, I still thought I was HUGE. So....what I think is a healthy weight has been completely skewed and distorted since over 20 years ago. How do I know until I get there? All I know is it's 1/2 my current weight, and that's a steep goal to achieve so I'll take it in steps...evaluating as I go.

Tonight I had a conversation with my friend (best friend for over 16 years). She was asking me about my weight loss and what I weighed now. As of this morning I am 267, down from 295. She said, "Oh! Three more pounds and I'm going to hate you! I've always been at least 10 pounds lighter than you. If I weigh more than that, I'll hate myself!" WTH? I kind of laughed it off, since I really didn't know what to say. I love her, but that stung. I'm the fat one, right? Uggg. Any one else have this issue with friends? Did the friendships last through the weight loss? Did it help overweight friends to focus on a weight loss plan/get surgery?

Poll - Democrat or Republican?

I don't own a gun, but I'd love to know how to shoot and then get one. I lived near the NRA in VA, and one time went there w/my daughter. I wanted her to get into a gun safety course, and for both of us to learn how to shoot. They were RUDE. I was told to buy a gun before I even thought about shooting there...and when I asked what kind of gun should I get, they couldn't answer because they can't endorse a gun. ARGH. So much for gun safety, etc, that they tout. I just want my kid to know enough about guns so that if she's visiting a house that does have them she'll know how to or not to handle them. I believe that guns don't kill people - people kill people. I live in TX now, I just assume that everyone has a gun! Sorry...I went of course for a moment. Back on topic: It would be interesting to see how many people really stand for the individual issues of their party. I honestly think I'd be split, which is why I am registered one way, but can vote either way with a clear conscience. I'm not emotionally dedicated to either party, but instead to the politcal agendas presented each election. -
Because it's reversible if there are complications. I also didn't like the idea of parts of my body being re-routed. And, I liked that it can be tightened if I start gaining again in a few years. Where, the RNY patients I know gain weight back and have no recourse. It's a one time shot with them, and not so much w/the band.

Poll - Democrat or Republican?

Um, yeah...Hollywood controls them... Gee, or is it vice-versa? I can't tell. Although, again, I think family values shouldn't be a political thing. Why do you? (Not asking sarcastically, but with intersest.) I agree on the socialist aspect. It didn't work for Russia, why are they pushing it here? Poll flip-flopping I think happens across the board. Unfortunately, by the time your political career hits major media, you've already been corrupted. Again, IMO. -

That didn't come in the samples!

I ordered the same thing, and just got my kit today! I am looking forward to having my tea tomorrow morning!

Ack! That's scary to me. I used to just spray the hairspray and aim the blowdryer at the same spot...for minutes! Poor ozone...it's all my fault!

I have 2...one I love and one I hate. The first one...around my ankle, inside the Taurus sign with Indian feathers that wrap around and the outside is a dreamcatcher. The 2nd..ugg...I had my daughter's father put on lipstick, kiss a piece of paper and while I was still tipsy I ran to the tatoo place and had them put it on my right cheek. Less than a month later we broke up, I was pregnant and forever have a pair of his lips on my ass. First thing I do when I reach goal is get that changed to a flower. I can't put my overly large bottom in someone's face with a clear conscience...That's just not right!

Wasa - Don't forget that they were in style right along side of teased up hair and AquaNet! Deadly combo! So glad that's over...

Poll - Democrat or Republican?
Gone4Now replied to KariK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am a registered Republican. That said, I think it's also necessary for individuals to assess each election/candidates as they come. Voting based on a party line is ignorant to me. I am conservative in my views, personally and politically, which is why I am a Republican. However, I am deeply saddened by the actions of the current administration. I also believe that the government shouldn't have any say in who I marry, what I do with my pregnancy, and so forth. Personal issues, religion, etc should not play a role in any political debate. IMO. -
I do "nothing" for me....and I love every second of "nothing" I get!

Hi Kat...I was curious about the card...? Did you get something from your doctor, or print it? I would love to have something like that!

I agree! After all...All YOU Can Eat is not written as a challenge.
