I do agree, really, I do...but that thread seemed a little odd to me. Emotionally unstable, maybe? I felt bad for that poster, rather than angry at it. It didn't have the same vibe as the "Hey - I just ate a whole pizza, is that okay?" I think more psych evals would have done this one wonders.

Ahhhhhhh.....I see it now. It's a popular phrase, I 'spose. How can you not love it? It has the word panties. Growing up fat and poor I always wore UNDERWEAR - the big granny kind. Other girls had panties - it was alll very dainty. I was jealous. Now that I'm older and have my own undergarment budget...I have panties.

he he....Indio said "big girl panties"...ha ha. At the TX RenFest we saw the show performed by the Well Wenches (or something like that...) and they made men from the audience run out of the arena, stand in the crowd of people milling about and say: "In my big boy pants I can do anything!" It was hilarious, and her post over there made me think about that. Posting just to say all that stuff. And, of course, Big Macs make me gag.

Thanks...I do actually have a hard time asking off. I started here in Jan and ended up having gall bladder surgery in Feb. I cried! I was so upset that I had to take off 2 whole days... Ugg. Another part is if I keep NOT getting the jobs I apply for, then how's that gonna look? I think a part of me is really embarrassed if things are public. Will it get to the point where people are asking, "You still here?" :thumbs_down: But, then - I do worry too much.

I tried to click on a link from my email and got a "Page Not Found" error. So, I just opened up LBT and went to the forum and was okay then.

I want validation. Who has jumped off the Empire State Building and lived? I know it's dangerous...especially without a parachute, but I saw this guy on TV do it and I'd like to try it....will it mess up my band?

Thanks, Mac...I will sit with her when she's back. I'd rather it be face to face, than via emails anyway. And, yeah...it's not really personal. But, I tend to take my job as an extension of me. I feel like I'm abandoning them here. It's a really boring job, and I've been asking for more to do...Other's have come and gone - no one's lasted more than 2 years, and it's kind of a cursed position. I took it because I had to (and, strangely enough it paid more money than the higher stressed job I had with my bf.) Big companies are really screwy and sometimes I miss working with a smaller group. :thumbs_down: But, they have great insurance here, which covered my lapband, so I can't complain TOO much.

Susan, I am so sorry for your struggles. I hope, too, that the government can help. Like you said, we send aid everywhere else...why not here? My mother and brother are broke and have never been able to accomplish anything. Growing up we were always kicked out of places, moved back in with my grandparents and tried again. When my grandparents died, my mother has started to ask me for money. Now my brother is. I have always had to bail them out. I do it because despite their poor judgement, I love them. So, I was thinking the other day, as I was sending another check to my mother...What if something happened to me? If I died, it would be okay because I do have life insurance. But what if I got sick or laid off? There is no one to help me and I would be one to foreclose. What was I supposed to do? Only purchase my home if I could afford it...without a job? I did NOT get a stated loan, and I put money down. I still owe around $90,000. Sorry - don't got that in my back pocket and I'm sure people who are going to foreclosure are in the same situation. Poor or middle class and living off of credit.

Wow...I guess they should all sacrifice their families, or whatever their situation is for your pride? You were proud and now you're not and it's all their fault because they went into foreclosure. Guess they got you good, huh? Before you go and get all grumpy at people whose lives are now ruined for the next 7-12 years, perhaps you should try to be more sympathetic. You've been in a tough spot...your mortgage company worked with you. Great. What would you do if your mortgage company went bankrupt and filed Ch. 11? Where would you be then? There are hundreds of scenarios and reasons why people lose jobs, houses, cars, etc. I'm sure a fraction of those are because of poor choices, but not everyone can have the obvious wisdom of *others*. Chill out...grab a lawn mower and cut the grass yourself.

EVERYDAY. I called everyday for 2 weeks, found out the doctor's office had been given the wrong approval information, called the doc - they faxed it over that day, next day I called and was approved. Being a PITA just means they want you to go away - they can't deny for being one.

I'm posting to say I think I hate cats. Or, rather, I hate living with cats.

I work with a woman who throws around racist comments, although I'm not sure she realizes it. She backs it up with, "I'm not being racist..that's just the way their culture is." I usually just say, "I haven't noticed..." and change the subject. But, that hasn't really worked and once have told her that I don't share her opinions. I said it nicely, but she still got pissy. She was huffy for a while, but then backed off. We still talk about other stuff, but she knows not to mention it to me. I have to be polite and hate it! Stupid people don't deserve my friendliness, but work DOES pay the bills. :tt1: If I can't walk away, though - the next best thing is to not say anything about their comments and then change the subject.

The Bandy Bunch! Here's the story...

I've been having trouble with my screen refreshing on me. I'm a fast typist, but not all together accurate and I use the BACKSPACE key, probably ever other word - sometimes letter. These two things are making me crazy. My screen will refresh on me in the middle of my typing something (in quick reply at the bottom of the thread) and kicks my cursor to the top. Because I'm typing quickly and then hit backspace key my browser, I.E., goes back to the screen I was at before...sometimes 2 or 3 screens back, depending on how many clicks of the backspace I hit. Thus, losing all that I've written. This only happens on LBT, that I know of...I have a livejournal account that doesn't refresh itself when I'm posting to it and I haven't noticed any auto-refresh when I'm browsing other sites. How can I turn that off? I keep telling myself that I'll type out my responses in Word, then copy and paste, but I am insane and keep doing the same thing over and over again, thinking - this time I'll catch it and won't lose my post!

Ooooh.....I ALWAYS have more than one - sometimes more than two! - windows open.

No to ctrl-R...My finger would have to go out of the ordinary for that. I am on a laptop, but it's plugged into a docking station & regular keyboard. I'm at work mostly when on LBT, and I can't really recall if it's happened at home. At work, though, the screen will also sometimes flash little DOS windows very quickly across my screen, then go back to normal. (This is if I'm doing anything at all, even not online.) I'm not sure if that has something to do with mysterious refreshing or not...

Right now I'm eating Hormel Chicken Alfredo (in the little white containers next to the mac n cheese) and it's gooood. No skin...no grissle. Ick.
