We saw Stephen King's Desperation recently. It was kinda dumb. It could have been good, but it just wasn't. I think SK's movies are hit or miss. Some are good, but some just aren't. I wonder why?

Morning all! Beth, I feel you! I had a boss from hell a couple times. One, I was 18 and cute and he was a guy. He was a jerk to everyone BUT me and that made it worse on me. Second, a woman and she was a hell to everyone except her boy-toy in the office (who eventually left his wife for her and then they broke up. Karma!) One time in a meeting in CA, I was setting up the hotel conference room. She emailed me at 5 that morning, and at 8 am I replied...well, about 5 minutes after I replied, she came flying into the conference room, hair 1/2 done, makeup 1/2 done and in her robe. She said, "Don't you EVER reply to me when I'm getting ready! What do you think I was doing? I was getting ready for THE CONFERENCE!!!" She was shaking and spitting she was so mad. So, I stood up (I towered over her) and said, "Excuse me" in the nicest way I could. I went up to my room and called back home and my friends reminded me to wait...I couldn't just leave then. So, I did...found another job when we got back to TX, left a sticky on her monitor that said, "I quit" and I left. I heard from a friend later that she was FURIOUS that I'd just slunked away like that. But, she was the drama queen and I knew if I'd quit to her face she'd have dragged it out and made herself to the be the victim. This way, she had nothing to say about any kind of "confrontation". Although, truth be told, I'd much rather have squashed her little troll head to the ground.

Is that good/bad?

Hm. It says login | facebook...what's that mean? Susan, how do you get that cool little link?
-
you can add me, too :smile2: I think this link will work... Login | Facebook
-
Yeah, yeah....I'm not the queen of movie quotes, but I used to be the mayor. I was telling DH about the movie thread and asked if he wanted anything to add. He asked if it was movie quotes back and forth. Yeah, he's a nerd. He and his nerd friends will send emails in all movie quotes. Mostly I get them, sometimes I'm clueless.

I thought Clyde turned right?

PJTP - I really, really, HATE it when people ask me something, I answer and then they ARGUE with my answer. Over simplified example: Q - "where can I get xyz?" Ans - "you can't anymore - it's discontinued" response - "but I was getting xyz" WTH? why did you ask me in the first f'ing place if you don't believe my answer??? And, I KNOW I'm right. I've worked here longer, I know more about the subject matter than this person - which is why they asked me to begin with - ARRRGGH. I hate people.

Diva - thanks for that link! DD has had her hair relaxed twice, but she and I both talked to her friend's mother who threatened me if I did it again - yikes! Luckily, DD is coming to the conclusion that she looks really damn cute with her hair curly. Now, we have to work past the frizz. She has tentacle like hairs that stick up on the top of her head. And, I used to be able to "lick" them down by wetting my hand and just patting it, but since the relaxer, those babies just stick up no matter what!!!

Good luck! You're a newbie again, wonder if sleeved folks are as snobby as bandsters to their newbies? I'm getting grumpy at LBT. When I try to log on, or after I post, I can't see new posts. I know they're there because I see them on my phone (email alerts) but on my internet at work, I can't get it to work. I can't really submit a ticket to the IT group either. "Um...I can't get my favorite website to work here...Can you fix that? What's that? I'm fired? BUT WHY?" lol I tried updated my browser, and now I get a message that says: Your current security settings put your computer at risk. Click here to change your security settings..." But, when I do, I'm told I don't have access. :cursing: Damn big brother IT dept. (I mean, LOVE YOU, IT dept...really...I do!)

Get outta my head! I was thinking that to! Or that movie w/Kevin Bacon (mmm...bacon) where his son is talking to the dead girl in the bathroom. What was that movie??? Morning everyone...posting to say, I'll be very glad when my counterpart at work comes back from maternity leave. She's the office angel (can do NO wrong, even though she strolls in at 9am, leaves at 4 - but that's OK for some reason) - but at this point I miss her and want her HERE. I'm tired of doing her work and mine. I want PEACE! Disclaimer: the catty stuff mentioned above can be written off to be that damned pms. I really do like the woman...so I have a hard time being mad at her for goofing off, especially when that's my goal, too!!! :cursing:

Drive by posting: I'm pms'ing like crazy and in one minute I was crying over WHAT NOT TO WEAR and the next I was yelling at some stupid commercial. I'm flipping out, and no one is safe.

Me, too! I can't give up both. If LBT didn't have so much weirdness to it lately, I'd have stuck with it a little longer. That, and I actually get work done when I'm not online. Go figure. 1 -been dating 2 years, living together almost one, and friends for longer. We joke that it's only been 2 years because we really feel like it's been closer to 10! 2 - I think men get hit with that more often...or else women don't talk about it. A lady at work was telling me that the same thing happened to her son, and I know the same thing happened to my brother. I've said something before about women being bitches and I was accused of being "Jealous and snotty" well, I am NOT jealous - some women are bitches and give the rest of us bad names. 3 - I really want to try chocolate covered bacon once in my life...just to see what it's like. I'm a food tryer. I like trying new stuff, no matter what it is. If someone else is eating it, I want to as well! 4 - While I am VERY happy, too, to have a job I miss my old one where I had every other Friday off. I love being off in the middle of the day. It's just great, and a lot more got done while I was at work because I was so rested from before.
-
I didn't look at it that way, either...good point. I'll be glad when the couples thing is over. Towards the end, you know who'll vote for whom and it loses it's supsense.
-
LOL - yeah, I've joked about leaving stuff to the dogs when DD is acting up. We also have passwords in a file at home, stealthily named: LOG IN INFO, so if one is out of commission then the other knows who/what/how to access accounts. One thing neither of us has changed is our wills. He's leaving everything to his dad, and all my stuff goes to my ex-bf. I know he'd look after DD, and do a better job of it than I do! But, even so...I'm thinking we need to change all that pretty soon. :w00t: So, she's like carbs...after a couple weeks you don't even miss it.

I was so ticked when they were following her around after. I get like, too...just leave me the F alone when I'm pissed. They thought they hurt her feelings, and they did in a way, but I think it was more being pissed. And, why did Mike add to Tara's? And, why did they add to Helen's? She wasn't a threat. I can understand adding to Taras (not laughing about it) but she's a threat - take her out, I get it. But, why not Sione's? Why not Philipe's? Those are your strongest 3...so why did they just target one? Stupid people. And, yeah...that whole Bob thing. WTH? When Kristen said it was the old alliance I about screamed. What does an alliance have to do with it at this point? It was like that last season after everyone wen to singles. I am hoping for new trainer blood, too.

I had someone blocked for about a week once. It's a great way to just take a breather without leaving LBT. I eventually unblocked her, but sometimes regret that. I'm too nosy to block anyone. I actually want to read stuff. I did remove myself from the Octopussy thread because I couldn't take it. But, for religion - I am a Christian and I can go to church for happier/lighter sermons than her dribble. I really don't get it. I know she thinks she's doing "God's work" but when you're turning people away, it's NOT. DH's mom is VERY religious, but she's also very understanding. I'd never stand in her kitchen and say something like, "God sucks" or offend her in any way...but w/PG, I WANT TO. Okay - Now I'm off to do 12 hail Mary's or something like that....

When my grandfather passed away, my grandmother didn't even know where the bills were kept, or the checks, who the bank was - nothing. And my mom had to go and do her bills for her. I was 14-15 at the time and I KNEW I'd never be in that position. I'm not great with money. I had some and lost it, and now I'm paycheck to paycheck until I can get back up there. DH knows all of that, and I know his financial history. He has a crazy ex-wife who stayed home from work and ran up bills on the Home Shopping Channel, opened credit cards in "their" name and after the divorce, he got stuck with the bills.
-
Susan, you have it so tough. I've been down the ex-wife path and it's not fun. It sounds like she just needs a hunting trip with Dick Cheney. What a waste of skin, breath and natural resources. Good luck with the one daughter...sounds like she may be seeing the truth. How old are their kids? DH sounds like he was denying stuff to protect you. While his judgement 8 years ago wasn't very good, it seems like the two of you can work through this. I wish you the very best!
-
WTG Donna! How long was it? Where did you go? What did he/she(?) have you do? I'm so jealous!!!! :tt1: I was literally jumping up and down when she passed him. I have a total girl crush on Tara. I was crying when she wanted to give up and cheering when she KICKED EVERYONE'S ASS. And I'm glad the yellow chick went home. Bitter...bitter...bitter!!!! However, I feel it was a stupid move on everyone's part. Um, HELLO? It is a competition - why not take out a dude now and then hit Aubrey next week, cause you know she'll be there again. Dumb IMHO.

You know...I came home last night around 5ish, and had to FIGHT the urge to take a nap!!! What does THAT tell ya? A group of ladies in my area of work were getting really bad headaches and eye-stinging. Each of us just thought it was the pollen, but when we all started talking about it, realized it was dirty/dusty vents at work. They fixed it and today is fine. Newfs are great! Kat - right on with how the son sees it. I think if they're in different rooms and are called "roommates" then no biggie. Call it what it is and be friends, not bf/gf. But, I definitely am a fan of definitions and things must be defined between each member of the house, including the younguns. I'm not really married - but DD and DH get along like we're family and he puts her first in all things. He even has that "dad sigh" when she wants to go the mall or do something that will cost money. :tt1: So, it's a clear relationship and I *hope* I haven't confused her. If anything, I can see her never getting married, or waiting a long time like I have done. And, finally good morning everyone! :w00t:

LMAO! I love kids. My friend's son was 2 when they were flying back from Australia...a very long flight and he was nutty from it. He was running around the airport yelling "F***, F***, F***" over and over. The more she shushed him, the louder he got until everyone in the airport was laughing.
-
Kat - good idea with the $5's...I really like that idea. I'll think more before breaking a $20 down. (It goes so quickly!) DH is more thrifty than I am. I will go through saving spurts, but then 2 times a year, I'll go on spending sprees and blow all my hard work from the previous 6 months. :huh2: SMS - DUDE!!!!! Please tell me you dumped BF, are living on your own and are dating new guy with no strings???? Even if he's a bastard, break up with him and leave before dating someone new...right? Or am I just really old and old fashioned?
-
And slo-mo doves....lest we forget. :huh2:
