I actually went back to my doctor today. He finally got his eyes on my incision which I was thrilled about since I now have a rash. I was pretty bummed because he told me at first that he thought my port might be infected and that would have meant that he would have had to take it out today. I was in total shock!!! Luckily once he saw it, he said that the hematoma has caused the bleeding, swelling and bruising. The bandaids have caused the rash. I have to wait a little longer for my first fill, but I will take it considering what it could have been:)

I have a question fellow bandsters, all of my incisions have healed except for the main incision where my port is. It is still very swollen there and I'm wondering, does this swelling eventually go down? It's in my chest area on my right side and I am hoping that this bad boy is gonna sink into my body eventually. The port shouldn't be noticeable right? Help!!!

Good to know, but I hope won't protrude this much. It is very noticeable!

I have a question for you all. I am slowly getting used to my new lifestyle, experiencing many surprises along the way, but the thing I find hardest is not having anything to drink while I eat. Any tips? I will get my first fill on the 13th and want to be ready:)

I was so glad to read that I am the only one. Now that I feel like I can eat again, I am. Not horribly, but enough to get myself in trouble if I let it. I need to keep up with what I started and remember my goal. We can do it together:)

Trust me, I did. My hubby even called just to make sure I want crazy. Lol. I was told just to let it run its course. That's why I was wondering if others have had this issue. My port seems to be bulging out? Anyone else???

Has anyone anyone ever suffered from a hematoma on their incision site? I am actually feeling great except for that, and ruining all of my shirts from the blood:( Just wondering if this is something that has happened to others...

I would love to get some feedback on how long it took everyone to feel "normal" again after post opp. I am 5 days out, but I am back at work, I'm a teacher, and am so tired at the end of the day. I look forward to the normal feeling again:) Still not hungry at all and Iwonder if that is where my lack of energy is coming from. I know it will come with time, but give me something to look forward to!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I am slowly on the mend. Took it easy all weekend. Didn't even get out of my pajamas on Saturday. I'm feeling better now, things are passing:) I think it helps that I am eating a little more too. I have lost 18 lbs now, which freaks me out a little, I am just hoping I don't gain anything back:) Now I am dealing with horrible bruising, and soreness in my ribs. Weird I know. Wondering if the doctor did the cha cha in my abs. Lol. This too shall pass and before long I know this will all be a distant memory.

So today I was horribly nauseated, May have been the 2nd day of STAAR testing, but I was miserable. Called my doctor and he told me to go to the ER. I was just a tad bit freaked out!!!!! I wanted him to tell me everything is going to be ok. He did call back and told me I am probably having issues because I am not having regular BM's. This is the reason I am so miserable. I kinda feel like what am I going to get rid of since I can't keep anything down? Hoping for a better day 8:)

I am a newbie, to this whole thing and am on day three of my new life. Lots of bruising of my stomach and swelling from gas, but thankfully it's going down. I feel really weird because I am NOT hungry, but I know I need to get liquids in. I have never been not hungry in my life! Lol!!!! I am a little concerned because when I drink water or a shake, I will sometimes feel pressure. Very weird feeling. Sometimes it's like I need to vomit, but I just breathe deep and wait for it to pass. Is this normal? I am a little short of breath as well but I feel like I am getting better each day. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks, tonight has been really hard. I think I'm nauseous and that scares me to death because I'm afraid to throw up for fear of my band slipping. The only thing I can think of that is making me so sick is that I think when they put the tube down my throat, it sliced a piece of my skin, so I have this little skin tag that is driving me nuts. I'm wondering if that is what is making me gag. At any rate I will be calling my doctor in the morning hoping for some answers:)
