Well my doctor said I was ok:) said I just strained myself too much and I'm just sore...he refilled my meds and told me to be careful and don't spill it lol:)
  2. I have cleared this with my surgeon and NUT. It's a liquid Multivitamin and absorbs better in your new stomach as opposed to the yucky chewable ones that are hard to keep down. I can say that I am SO glad I found it! I found it at GNC on sale (buy one get one half off). The guy at the counter let me sample it before I bought it and I was amazed. It's called "Sea Essentials" and the flavor I have is "sea berry". I Actually let my bariatric coordinator try it when I was out of surgery. She couldn't believe how good it tastes either and will now be recommending it to all her other patients. I think it's like $20 a bottle for 32oz, and so worth it!! Which is why I had to share with all of you:) I have heard too many of you talking about how disgusted you are with your multivitamin. Enjoy guys!!

    Then and Now

I posted the wrong photo of the binder and I don't know how to delete it
  4. Know this is a strange thread, but I love looking at everyone's then and now photos. Anyone is welcome to post their pictures here no matter how long or short of a time ago you had your surgery we all want to see:) I am only 15 days post op but my starting weight was 263 and I am currently 231 and I could only really tell in my face but today I am in pain so I put on my waist binder that the nurse gave me when I left the hospital post op. It's supposed to help "hold" you so your incisions don't hurt, well she gave me a large and it is waaay to big now.

I will pick some up tomorrow. I am calling my doctor first but the liquid Tylenol would be a good back up. I have a high tolerance for pain meds because I have an extremely low pain tolerance...

I just called my doctors office and left a message with the answering service to have the doctor or nurse to call me. Another problem....I had a full bottle of the liquid pain meds because I haven't been using it and ended up spilling all but half a dose. The bottle is the type that has a top that you stick the serenge in and dispense the meds that way, well when I went to take it out of the top, the top came off and I spilled it:/ what a day.....

I think I have a problem....I lifted my daughter because I had no choice. She had an accident and I had to get her cleaned up at 2am, well this morning I started to hurt inside my abdomen and it's a stinging/burning feeling and it hurts to bad to want to drink anything so I think I might be getting dehydrated. It's not my incisions, it's my insides like 2 inches to the right of the largest incision (to right towards the middle of my stomach. I am afraid I did something bad. It hurts to move around or get up:/ I don't know what to do.

My surgeon told me I could have grilled or baked fish (as long as it's soft) so....DINNER. I probably won't eat half of this but I'm ecstatic :)

That's crazy. I'm 14 days post op and mine hurts but more like a soreness inside. I asked my surgeon yesterday and he said the same thing plus "I had to deep stitch that incision because it's the one I fed the stapler through.

I just got back from my post op visit. I am down 26lbs and 13 days post op. I was cleared to go ahead and start pureed foods:) he even said I could have some soft foods (as I can handle it) just to be very careful. He said I was doing well with healing, eating, and weight loss and wants to see me again in 3 weeks!!!! I'm so excited. I am savoring a yoplait Greek yogurt (banana cream) 80 cal/12g of protein for the whole container, which I probably won't eat all of it but it's heaven!!

Welcome!!! Congrats on your loss first of all, sounds like you are doing AMAZING!! I'm not a big fan of milk so I had a hard time with my protein in the liquid phases. I substituted with almond milk which is more expensive, but it lasts longer, has less fat and a lot more calcium. I haven't started my pureed diet yet, I will be able to tomorrow if my doctor clears me at my post op visit. I am not a fan of cottage cheese or ricotta (unless I'm making lasagna...lol) so my Nut told me to eat low fat Greek yogurt, pudding, grits, cream of wheat, scrambled eggs (or substitute), refried beans, applesauce (which I don't eat but when I was at the grocery store I found they have several flavors, so I got strawberry), pureed veggie soup, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes. Ask your NUT and try something like that. I know what you mean about being able to "eat normal". I have been depressed as well because I am pretty social and go to dinner with friends often which I haven't much later because of my diet. Also I have to cook my daughter dinner every night and I can't eat it so she has started not eating because I'm not eating the same things with her. There is some really good support on this thread, stick around we are all here for each other :)

You got extended an extra week of liquids????? Why did that happen? Oh god now I am nervous for my post op visit. I swear if my doctor tells me that I will just cry. I was told that if it goes well Tuesday I could start pureed foods as early as Tuesday after my visit and I already went grocery shopping this weekend for Greek yogurt, Low fat/sugar free pudding, strawberry flavored apple sauce, grits, tuna individual packets, stuff for mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes....yum:) it's harder than I thought to have it in my fridge and I can't eat it for a couple days.

BLEH!!! I got the watermelon too and it smelled awesome until I drank It:/ the only fruit one I thin I can do is banana. That one is actually really good. I am glad I'm not the only one, any of the proteins send me to the bathroom and it's horrible! I can't wait to start pureed foods on Wednesday:( I had an idea to try in the morning. I'm going to make my coffee (1cup) put if in the blender with ice, milk and 2 scoops of chocolate protein. Almost like a blended chocolate mocha...just with a taste of protein.... You can have tuna??

Thank you:) I guess the reason that I can't really see a difference is because compared to what I need to lose, almost 25 lbs is nothing. I guess when I start getting closer to the 200 mark I will start seeing a difference. I'm not going to weigh myself again til my post op visit Tuesday. I'm sure your doing really good yourself!!!

I couldn't even think about mashed potatoes at 4 days post op:/ I wouldn't because you had major invasion surgery only 4 days ago. You need to heal Hun.

You mashed veggies, sweet potato and fish??? I start pureed next week. Ps your sweets sound yummy!! Someone told me to take my protein shake, mashed banana and a spoon of peanut butter, blend it and freeze it...time to get creative:) All my incisions are healing, well except the one on my left side that is actually the largest one and right in the crease of my waist....and the way it was sealed up, it's indented.

I am not having a problem getting liquids in just protein...I have severe head hunger:/ I am just sick of drinking...sick of the sweet taste of protein. I have never been a big sweets person. I have to make dinner for my daughter every night and it smells so good. She had grilled chicken, coleslaw and cornbread. :( after her bath I will sit down with my protein "ice cream" and jello....
