    Welcome Matt! Hi everyone! My update: April 10th 251 lbs April 16th 240 lbs June 24th 208 lbs Total loss: 43 lbs Success: started finally exercising this week! Struggle: weight is coming off so slowly! Unfortunately my stomach can handle pretty much anything so I'm trying to stay on track w healthy eating! I want those 8lbs off so I can finally get out of the 200's!! 10 weeks gone! Wow!

    You guys are all doing great!! I love to hear the successes and struggles. It makes me feel like I'm not alone! Starting weight 251 Day of surgery 240 Current weight 210 Goal weight - 1st under 200 then 160 Success- buying size 14 capris!! Old jeans were a 20! Struggle- making good food choices in my crazy, busy life! Two more days till I'm off for the summer. Hoping to have time to exercise and make healthy food!

    That's awesome!! I did get size 14 jeans but Lane Bryant so still women's cut but hoping that was my last purchase there!! Anyone find a place to sell their clothes? I have some great lane Bryant clothing....thinking I could sell it and use that $ to buy more clothes!

    Hi everyone! I haven't been on in awhile. I've been a bit discouraged but this weekend changed for me! I went shopping finally because my clothes were getting so big and I bought a size 14!!!!!!!! I was wearing a 20 jeans before! So excited!! I did this before and after pic! This first one was taken 2 weeks before my surgery and the other one was taken today! I can finally see a difference!! Just needed to share because I know this crew would understand how I'm feeling!

    Hi everyone! This time of the year is so crazy busy in my house. Here is my late update: April 8th I weighed 251lbs 5"3 April 16th I weighed 240 Today.....215! 36 pounds total! It's slow and steady 1- I'm proud that I have not given in to temptation! I was addicted to chocolate and diet coke before my surgery and I am proud to say I gave it up! 2-I just wish the weigh wasn't so slow coming off. I'm a teacher so two more weeks till summer break. I am happy to have the time then to exercise and hopefully speed things up!

    Hi everyone! 1. 251 2. 240 3. 218 (I haven't been on the scale since Saturday- avoiding it w pms). 4. First goal under 200, next goal 160! 5. I cried when I saw 218.2 on my scale!! Knowing I was 251lbs 6 weeks ago and 18 lbs to never see 200 again made me so happy! After a long stall it's finally moving!! Please pray it keeps going! 6. Still struggling w getting in enough Water although I can finally take more than a tiny sip comfortably. I might try a straw.....need new Protein type meals. Getting bored eating the same things too!

    Hi everyone! A couple of crazy questions...... 1. My doc and nut said not raw fruits or veggies until the 2 month mark. Is anyone eating lettuce? I feel like I could do lettuce (maybe w lowfat Caesar dressing ) and chicken? 2. Straws....what's the deal w/ them? Can we ever use a straw again? 3. I was also told no gum.....is that a forever thing too? Sorry for the crazy questions! Happy Saturday!

    Hi everyone! 1. 5 3". 251 2. Day of surgery 240 3. 5 weeks 222 4. Goal 160 5. Success: finally seeing the scale move after 3 weeks! 6. Struggle: getting enough Protein and Water in. I'm feeling good!! Exercising a bit, and trying to make good food choices. Just need the scale to keep moving!!

    Thanks guys! I'll trying eating more, I'm just not very hungry and afraid to eat. Protein is more of a challenge because my doc asked me to stop the shakes. I eat such a small amount of food it just doesn't add up to many grams of protein or calories. I went back to teaching at the one week mark, I did tell my close friends at work but you know how things spread! Our secretary retired last year and has visited a few times. She easily weighed over 400lbs and is half her size. Every time people asks about her dramatic weight loss she says she just cut out desserts. Guess I was annoyed w the lie and decided I wouldn't lie to anyone when asked. So far so good w foods. Just ate a piece of turkey rolled up w a slice of cheese. Ate almost all if it. Pushing the water more! I wish I would of taken my measurements before this journey.... Have a great Sunday everyone!

    That's awesome! We went out last weekend for a friends birthday. I ordered French onion soup and sipped the broth. It was hard seeing all the yummy food come to the table. On another note, I was not secretive about my surgery but now I wish I was. Saw a few people yesterday at my kids school event and they asked how I was feeling. The worst part....people saying are you making progress?? Makes me feel awful that it's not noticeable. I've been back and forth at the same weight since may 4th. I starting tracking w the lose it app. Eating 500 calories max. Protein and water still need to be bumped up a bit. I really need to start seeing some success on this scale..... Thanks for letting me rant!

    Agreed! I kinda laughed at him considering that fact that I can't have any raw fruits or veggies yet! I think he was going more long term.....I guess!

    Not to be gross but it was horrible for many hours!! Then I had a break and it started all over again! Lol! BUT you will feel great On a clean note, my surgeon said that when we eat protein 80% of it should be plant based and only 20% should be animal based. Thought that an interesting thought.....

    I had horrible constipation! My doctor told me to take dulcolax, one good clean out and never had that problem again! Be prepared in a few hours!! Not to be gross!

    Good idea, I am going to start tracking. I guess I was thinking it's so hard to figure out when I'm eating such a tiny bit each time. Under 800 seems like a good number! My husband is tracking on lose it app. Since he is dieting w me. I'll give it a try! At least now I have an idea of a number! Have a good day everyone!

    Hello! It's weird not having the protein shakes, I don't fully understand the reasoning why except he said that some people do not do well on them. He also said I should have 50 grams max per day. He said I can have everything except raw fruits and veggies, seeds and nuts. He said just make good choices and eat! Yesterday I ate "real" food and today the scale moved down two pounds! I hope the doctor is on to something!! I asked my nut about counting calories but she said not at this point, not sure how I feel about that. I feel like I need a number. Anyway, I am glad to see the protein shakes leave my life! It's really helped w getting my water in. I'm hoping to start dropping weight again!

    Hi everyone! Went for my 1 month appointment today with my doctor and nut. I was disappointed cause I only 14 lbs since surgery. I have stayed at the same weight for 10 days now. Super frustrating! My doctor said that happens sometimes because of the protein drinks. He said get off the drinks and only get protein from foods. He said, No more liquid calories! He thinks if I eat more, I will start to drop again. Fingers crossed!! Now to try soft food

    Hi everyone! Sorry I'm late on my update! 1. 251 5ft 3in 2. 240 3. 226 4. 160 5. Accomplishment: getting more Water in....why does it still hurt to drink water?? 6. Goal: to try and get more Protein in so I don't have to drink these yucky shakes! Overall, I'm feeling good. I'm just exhausted. Working full time w/ 3 kids and all the activities while recovering is tough! My hubby has been great and has been dieting w me. It's a great support! I'm annoyed that I have been sitting at 226 for 5 days now. I'm trying to eat more often. I found myself not eating because puréed foods suck! I know I'm suppose to be on another week of that (actually 9 more days) but I've been incorporating some soft foods like scrambled eggs. So far so good! I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well. 3 weeks and only 14 lbs since surgery doesn't seem like much but I'm holding out hope that the scale will start to move again soon! I go back Tuesday to the doc and nut. Hopefully the scale will cooperate! I can't wait to see a number out of the 220's!

    Good morning! I tried tuna and chicken salad. No puking but they didn't sit too well. I think it was the light mayo. I could only eat a few small spoonfuls. I tired egg salad too, same thing :/ I'm trying to stay with more liquids but I want to eat the other stuff. It's tough getting my head and stomach on the same page! Have a great day we are close to the 3 week mark!!

    I got mine two days ago, I gained 2lbs, it was super heavy, which isn't normal for me. Not being able to take Motrin wasn't very helpful but I figured it's just another bump in the road!
