I'm guessing that bypass patient was back in surgery pretty quickly then, after eating that cr@p. SMH. That is almost hard for me to believe someone can be that ...reckless.

Is it mandatory to quit smoking?
wannaBthinsoon replied to kymmiej11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I made the decision to have this surgery, (in April) I bought a book by Allen Carr. I don't remember the name of it now, but you are supposed to still continue to smoke while reading the book. When you are done with the book, if you have any cigarettes left, you are supposed to throw them away, and never pick up another one. I did it. I smoked for 35 years, a pack a day. I was determined to kick that habit so there would be nothing standing in my way for this life saving surgery. I have not craved a cigarette.I did not use nicotine gum or a patch or lozenges. I did use (and still do) a e-cig with zero nicotine, for the psychological habit. It gets me through stressful times. I gained some weight. I knew I would. But it didn't bother me this time, because I knew I was doing it to save my life. I don't want leaks. I don't want complications. I love, love, love my family and I want to be here a really long time with them. Do yourself a favor.....Don't complain over having to quit cigarettes.....or try to "cheat" in some way. Your life depends on it. Ok, I'm off my soap box now. -

Scared to death.....
wannaBthinsoon replied to deftonestiffany's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wait a while until the pain, anguish and misery of being fat is worse than the thought of death. Nice though, heh? Harsh, but true. You can DO this! -
why is my picture sideways?
-
likely because that's the way you originally took the picture. If you used a cell phone and took the picture in landscape that's how it will look uploaded.
-
Just go back to your original photo and hit the rotate photo icon and save it to where it is portrait and not landscape oriented, then re-upload it.

wannaBthinsoon replied to 4LgrLife_53's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HI Terry. I'm Sherrie. I have had a few falls in the past year, and luckily I didn't break anything. But Getting up from a fall is not an easy task when you're a large woman. I would hate to think what I'd of done if my husband hadn't been here when I fell. My BMI is 42, I thought it was right at 40, but I've lost 2 inches in height. Dang gravity! But with a BMI of 42, sleep apnea, 6 months of dr diet, bloodwork done, documentation of over 5 years of unsuccessful on-stop dieting should cinch it for me, I would hope. I am super determined to do this, and to be successful, whatever it takes. I will see you there. Once I am approved, I will post an actual photo of myself on here. But I don't want to jinx it for myself, you see, I'm sure people I know are on this site. UHC covers wls. So, cross your fingers for me for January 2, when I call them for an appt. See ya!! -

I ordered a sample pack of unjury just to see if it was something I would be able to tolerate afterward, and I don't like it. The unflavored is nasty! I may just stick to whatever the bariatric center has for sale, and Sams Club. I'm real close to the new one on Parallel, so no probs stocking up! I hope I get an opportunity to meet you one day at a meeting. Oh! I had my 5th of 6th Dr's supv Diet visits, and I actually lost 2 pounds this time! Thank goodness I will finally show a loss! They wanted to talk me out of surgery and into diet pills. They had a NEW Diet pill I would be a good candidate for. I am mid 50's with a BMI around 42, I have health insurance for only a couple more years before I retire. I don't have time to test pills, only to fail again. I want this done once and for all, and ain't nobody gonna talk me out of it! (Just thought I'd share) Take Care! -

I'm right there with you. I am not eligible till Jan 2 either. So I started my 6 months of Dr supervised diet visits in June, had my sleep test done, got diagnosed with sleep apnea (one co-morbidity), now it's wait and live vicariously though the lives of those on BP who have had the surgery and are loving life. I know I have to have 5 yeas of weight history, so I have a OBGYN appt in Dec, I'll get that from them. I printed off my bank statements over the past 2 years showing I paid for WW and Nutrisystem (both!). I attended a REAL seminar at the Bariatric Center and they give a packet of info that must be completed and provided to the center on the first appt. Once January comes, I'll enroll, get an appt with the surgeon, and I'll have Psych tests to do, endoscopy to do, Nutritionist visits to attend. I think I'm pretty prepared. but I do research every single day, and have done so since February. 5 of my friends had their surgery this year. I so want to be on the losers bench with my friends. Best wishes to you!! -
I can't beleive this ..................
wannaBthinsoon replied to Megan00's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What the heck?!! Congrats!! Who's your insurance co?? -
Wishing you the best! I just enrolled in my company's health insurance also. My Hubs insuranceexcludes it, and he's retiring in 2 weeks anyway, so I'm paying the big bucks for PPO for the first time in my working lifetime. Can't wait for January 2nd to enroll in the insurance company's bariatric plan and schedule my appt with the Bariatric Center. Been prepping for this all summer with monthly Dr visits (they want 6 months of this) getting my sleep study done, along with a shiny, brand new cpap machine. Now it's hurry up and wait. I'll be watching for your updates. Keep us newbies posted!

Has anyone become single as a result of their weight loss surgery?
wannaBthinsoon replied to pinkbunies's topic in Singles Forum
I'm so glad this thread is here. Not that I would wish this on anyone, but I am at a point where I feel like my health and happiness are just as unimportant to my husband as they are important to me. Biggest fight we ever had in 27 years was today. I'm crying now, and have been all day. He accused me of not ever wanting to do ANYTHING since I decided to have the "weight THING" as he calls it. The day was going great, then he decided he wanted to go to the casino, which we had both decided months ago to not visit again, due to no self control. He will be retired soon, and we will have even less money. I told him I didn't want to go. I have laundry, dinner, dishes, WORK to do. I didn't want to go THERE.(I told him I'd go anywhere but there) So, the fight happened. It got super ugly. Lots of hateful things were said by both of us. I am not going to give up on my dream of health and I am having this surgery whether he likes it or not. I just don't understand. He married me thin. He must have loved me thin once. Why is he dragging me down like this????? -

Mnmist: congratulations on finally being on the other side of the stress of waiting for the surgery. Keep us newbies posted on your progress. I am still waiting in the wings, (I admit to being a sleeve stalker). I'm relishing in everyone else's successes till I finally have my own. As they all say...walk...walk...walk...sip...sip...sip. I attended the seminar this summer in preparation for this. I've also completed 5 of the 6 month supervised dr diet with my PCP ..............also in preparation for this. My health insurance kicks in on January 2nd. I will be calling my insurance, enrolling, (they tell me I have to "enroll") And I assume I will be directed where to go, when to go, who to see, what to do, etc. -
