How much time off from work?

I plan to use short term disability, and use as much time off as my Dr's will allow!

Lying about what type of surgery..

Yeah, no one's business. It's actually illegal for an employer to ask. It's a surgery. Period.
  3. I read lots of stuff on the internet, especially lately. But I read on webmd that if a person has no symptoms of gallstones, then the gallbladder will be left in tact and meds will be given to dissolve potential gallstones during the rapid weightloss phase. Any truth to that?

  5. Hi and welcome! I agree with BLERDgirl. face to face support groups are so helpfull! Of course you are welcome here as well. I don't know when my surgery will be scheduled, but once I know, I'll be blurting it out here in BP land!

    I'm not mourning food anymore

I want that!!! You hear the negatives,....that people fail, and regain what they lost. I have had that thrown in my face almost daily by someone. People watch too much TV or read about one person who regained, or ate more then they did prior to surgery. I find those stories hard to believe. Maybe because I WANT this. Not because I'm being forced into something I don't want. You know? Like how kids don't appreciate the things we give them, but appreciate it more if they get if for themselves? That's my theory. Anyway........I really want that!!
  9. @@Kindle Isn't Syntrax awesome? So far, that and GENEPRO unflavored are my fav's!

    Storebought meatballs?

@@laurenella82 I was just thinking of grinding up some beef and pork, I wasn't thinking about the carb content in chicken. But it seems that any commercially made meatball has some carbs in it. Maybe a small amount wouldn't be such a big deal though, I just want to follow program to the letter. meat, then veges, then carbs, you know? Just preparing my list in my head. I have a ways to go yet before surgery. (I think. I;ll know more about a date in January)

    Storebought meatballs?

I know @@Miss Mac the carb thing bothers me. I just went through a bag of the Ikea meatballs. They are really good, but of course there are carbs in there. I'm going to check out the Target chicken ones. If they have carbs too, I'm going to get to cooking some all meat meatballs and freeze them up. Hubs is retired. That;ll give him something to do!! Thanks folks!

    Waiting on Ins./Rant

Hello @@mama0297 You are on a really great site. The people here are so friendly and helpful. Sometimes we just like to lighten the mood and have a few laughs. But this is a great place to hang out, and ask questions, and get advice, offer advice, and be there for other people who need someone to just listen. I'm in Kansas, so not a Buckeye, sorry. But I am done with most of my pre-ops also, and I have to wait till after January 1st, for my insurance to be in effect for me to have the bariatric center of excellence submit for approval. So, I am also waiting. I did something the past 10 days. My last appt with my pcp for my 6th month supervised dr diet visit on 12/9 was a 6 pound gain. (ouch! I know!) So I began eating as if I had already had the surgery so I could prove I could lose, and I lost 10 pounds in 10 days!! Certainly most was Water, but 10 is 10, ya know? So my pcp can honestly tell my insurance co that I followed his diet and had a loss. Hang in there, and it's always nice to meet someone new!! Sherrie
  17. GENEPRO unflavored. Tasteless and you can put it in anything, and has like 30gms of Protein per tablespoon, not per HUGE scoop. I put it in about everything. Can't taste it. Of course, if it was in just plain Water , I bet you could taste it. But I don't think I would ever consider doing that. You can find it at amazon.com
  18. GENEPRO...totally tasteless!! Really and truly!! If I could, I'd buy stock in it, I have told so many people about it. Buy it off Amazon.com.

    MuscleGen GenPro Protein....Thoughts?

Love love love it!!! totally tasteless! I've never used it in just plain Water, I bet it isn't great that way, but in other stuff you cant taste it. Tomato soup it's flavorless, chicken broth it's flavorless, crystal light it's flavorless. I use it in fruit smoothies, almost everything to boost my Protein. I've told everyone I know about it.
