    In need of a mentor!

    I'm in KCK, near Legends
  3. Ask Santa for a Vita Mixer. It's very pricey, but it will pay for itself in no time, especially now!! I hardly used it, but I use it all the time now, and will use it a ton once I'm sleeved.

    Kansas City...all my life!
  6. ?? no idea. Nobody that has had surgery at the center I'm going to go to has had to do a colonoscopy --Just the EGD. I'd like to not also. I do the yearly poop test. That is enough for me. No one else in the family has had any trouble, My Mom is healthy as a horse at 85.
  7. Well crap. I'm 52, an my mom's dad had colon cancer in his 70's
  8. I really hope I get to "pass" on that one. I'm ok with the EGD, but I've heard a few bad stories about colonoscopies gone bad.
  9. hmmm...how about anyone in KC with the KC Bariatric hosp? I"ve asked friends who had the surgery and they didn't either, but my OBGYN told me today that they won't do the surgery without a colonoscopy. Never heard that before.

Found 2 different kinds at Sam's yesterday. Bought them both. Tried one of each and they're both pretty good!
  12. Any favorites? Any that your dietitian or nutritionist would approve?? I'm not to that point yet, so I have no one to ask yet.

    Catheter problems.

I'm thinking all I would have to do is cough sneeze or laugh, and I'd pee, no problem!

    Smoking- passive

My hubs and I quit the same day together, a year ago, in preparation for my surgery. I wanted to be dang sure I was nicotine free!

    Smoking- passive

I would say, no. Your blood or urine will be checked for nicotine though, I am pretty sure. Nicotine can hinder your recovery.

    Discouraged Already

wow. You are doing amazing! A pound a day lost...GONE! A POUND A DAY!! Say it out loud. A POUND A DAY!!! Why are you discouraged? Just think... if you could do that every day you'd disappear before the year was over. (Sorry, I had to have a little fun with it). Don't be discouraged, you are doing great.

    New to fifties group

Merry Christmas everyone! I'm here!! Still waiting in the wings. I had my last Dr's appt (for the required 6 month Dr supervised diet) last week. All other tests are done. My insurance kicks in on January 1. I've been in touch with the insurance coordinator at the bariatric hospital (somehow we became friends on FB!!) and she told me to call and get started on January 2nd. I will then only have 3 appointments needed, then it'll be submitted for insurance approval, which I have been informed, will approve based on bmi of 41. Congrats to all of you "losers", and happiest of holidays to everyone! Sherrie
  22. OH!! That's right!!! I am so stupid! Disregard my earlier post. Baby that sleeve, and follow Dr's orders. (banging my head on the wall right now.........I am so sorry I made that stupid suggestion!)

  24. I had my very first migraine headache in my late 40's. I get them very rarely. It may be a cluster headache also. Try the benedryl or excedrin migraine.

how about fluffy? Fluffy is a kinder gentler version of "Fat", although I understand you are using the clinical term. ") Congrats on being just fat. I wish I was just fat, too. lol
