    Hello guys, some questions :)

I met with my psych for the first time today. He asked me some of the exact same questions. What'd I weigh in high school, what was my lowest weight, what is my highest weight, etc. He came up with me losing "realistically" 80 pounds. In my mind, I am telling myself...I am NOT having 85% of my stomach removed to only lose 80 pounds. I will lose the 120 pounds I need to lose. You see, I am optimistic, and a rule follower. I will have this new internal "tool" that will keep me compliant, and I have a terrific support system. I can do this!! You can too! We are worth it!!

    Calling all smokers

I quit analogs last April in preparation for my surgery, which should be in March this year. I use an e-cig with 0% nicotine, just flavors. So, I have been nicotine FREE since 4/1/14. I have no desire for a real cigarette. I was over the nicotine addiction after about 3 days. Some folks call e-cigs adult pacifiers, and maybe they are. I like the vapor it produces. but the zero nicotine is what I use. I plan to put the ecig down for good, too, once I'm sleeved. And walk or exercise instead of using the "adult pacifier". Just my 2 cents.

  8. I use mine all the time. You won't regret spending the astronomical price for it. They are expensive, but they are worth every penny.

    Pre Diet

Yup! Your surgeon will give you the instructions they want you to follow prior to surgery. There will be no guessing. They will make sure you understand the instructions.

    EGD?

I hear it is a wonderful (although short) nap. Overwith in a snap. Will probably have a slight sore throat afterward. But since you are sedated, you will need a lift home.

    Pre Diet

I will have 1 week of Protein shakes and Water or crystal lite or sugar free popsicles. It's winter, so not so interested in making popsicles. But I bought some pretty yummy Protein powder from Syntrax Nectar- The Cookies n Cream and the fuzzy Navel are super duper!

    Pre-op EGD was easy peasy

the EGD (in my case)is not required for insurance approval. It is a requirement of the Bariatric COE to look around for infection, or hernias.

I'm done telling folks. They don't get it

The only way for me to keep my bosses off my back about the time I have to take off for appointments at the bariatric center was for me to tell them.

Wow, wow and wow. What is with the hostility on this tread? We are all friends and supporters of each other. No need for that.

    Gastric Sleeve after Hysterectomy

I did have to go on estrogen when I had my total hyster, so I know I'll have to stop it prior to and for a while after bariatric surgery. I've never had the emotional thing, or the hot flash thing, but I did gain the weight right after the hyster 20 years ago, and haven't been able to get it off to stay. So, I'm assuming I will go through menopause at the same time I am sleeved. That is a scary thought. Maybe I should stay somewhere else so my hubs doesn't throw me out!
