9 days post op and I am HUNGRY!
wannaBthinsoon posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How is this possible? I was under the impression the hunger hormone was removed when they took out 85% of my stomach. I was looking forward to not being hungry...to not being tempted. Whenever the hungries get to me, I've been good and had a SF Popsicle, or SF Jello, or had more Water. I've been good. Next Thursday I graduate to soft foods, from full liquids. Someone please tell me I will be satisfied more and the hungries will subside. -

My sleeve is working properly as of today. I think it was a late bloomer. I should name her something to that affect. lol But I felt the fullness at breakfast. Could not finish my scrambled egg, but I could the other day. (weird). I am getting in all my fluids, I am measuring, and getting in my protein, and I feel great. FINALLY!!!! -

Time off work for recovery

Bending at the waist is not the most pleasant. I can't see myself chained to a desk in a seated position for more than 8 hours a day when it hurts to bend at the waist. I have to move more or lie down. Work is going to have to wait 4 weeks for me. -

@@Joz31 luckily my weightloss is still going in the right direction. I haven't stalled. But I am hungry all the time. I've been able to eat a whole scrambled egg, with no issues. Friends who had the surgery last December tell me they STILL can't eat a whole scrambled egg. WTH?! Don't get me wrong...I am still eating practically nothing. I don't think my calorie intake is 400 calories all day, and that is with a 160 calorie Protein shake. Maybe I need to increase the protein. I think it may be time. The book says to start increasing fluids to 64 and Proteins to 60 this week. I think I will try that today. I need to not feel hungry. -

@@desertgirl_74 My VSG was 4/23. Next week I get soft foods!! I hope my hungries go away!!! I found myself grazing yesterday. I just could not get satisfied. Of course, I grazed on "approved" things, so I was still a good girl....but what if I wasn't?? Then this would all have been for nothing. (my biggest fear) -
I haven't seen any commercial posts. That would tick me off too.

Help! - Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program.
wannaBthinsoon replied to Alkalinetrio262's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
United Health care. But if you are using a bariatric center of excellence, they generally can help you with these hoops. Yes I had hoops, too. My requirements were that it was a bariatric COE, my BMI was over 40 and I attended a dr's supervised diet for (an undetermined amount of time). No specific months. AND.....no past BMI from the last 5 years or whatever.....They used to require that as well, but most Insurance companies have dropped that requirement. Best of luck to you. I know I wouldn't be able to lose the weight without this surgery. I have only lost 20 pounds, but I wouldn't have been able to do that. I was on Nutrisystem for 6 months and couldn't lose 20 pounds. I lost these 20 pounds in the past 3 weeks. -
When can I drink Alcohol?
wannaBthinsoon replied to judyoz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@judyoz careful! Alcohol is drinking your calories. Your surgeon or dietitian should've gone over that with you. Abstaining from alcohol is a small price for getting thin and healthy. -
Help! - Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program.
wannaBthinsoon replied to Alkalinetrio262's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
WOW! That is just crazy that he would expect that from you. My PCP only had me weigh in monthly, recorded my weight, and we discussed my diet, what calorie level I was at, he made suggestions.....sometimes my weight was up sometimes it was down....but in the end the only thing that mattered is that I went. Due to me being above 40 BMI I qualified without my PCP's approval. -
@@dmjost@gmail.com that sucks. My UHC dropped that requirement.
