    I feel like a pig.....

@@judyoz Oh my! a WHOLE container of Chobani yogurt. (lol this made me snicker!) I can eat a whole container of light and fit yogurt!! And I was glad I did!! It really does go down pretty easily, and is a great way to get your Protein in. You are NOT a pig. Silly!!
  2. I am doing well. I had no gas pains that others complain about. I got up to walk within an hour of getting to my room. I will say....be very careful with the liquid pain meds they send you home with. This was my only issue..it causes severe constipation!! I am learning each day what my sleeve can handle and what it can't. I don;t move to soft foods till next week. So right now I get most of my Protein from cottage cheese. (and 1 shake a day). My very favorite thing is unsweetened applesauce. I have that for Breakfast every day. It goes down the best. Thank you for asking about me.

    Constipation

the pain meds made me so constipated I thought I was going to have to go to the ER to remove the blockage. Holy Moly it was soooo painful. I used Miralax, and stopped the painmeds, and was normal the following day (after I finally purged myself of the "blockage".....OWIEEEEE!!) Good luck.
  4. @@VSG_Hopeful you go girl!!! I'm still early out, but no regrets. I KNOW this will help me achieve my goals. Wishing you all the best!
  5. I had to have some months logged with my PCP for a supervised diet...no certain number of months. And no BMI history. (United Healthcare PPO)

    Tummy aches

@@cruummbs Have you had your surgery already? I can't tell from your profile. If so, you will want to call your doctor. Just in case. Stomach pain is nothing to fool around with after the surgery.

    Anyone NOT have gas pains?

    me!!! Not a one.
  8. @@NCTRNL my experience there really was really outstanding. The hospital part was great, the nurses were great, the doctors were great. Really, I have nothing but great things to say about the whole experience. And, I feel great.
  9. I am a week post op. I'm following the structured plan from my surgeon. But, I'm home for a few weeks recovering and these food commercials are EVERYWHERE! I really hope that someday soon they won't bother me. I know that I cannot eat any of the stuff in these commercials. I'm a week post op! I could really do some serious damage if I even tried. But, I bet there are people out there who lost the battle of wills and ate the junk on the commercial. And, that makes me so sad, and furious at the same time. I think I will stop watching tv, and switch to Netflix. There are no commercials on Netflix.
  10. @@VSG_Hopeful 2 years and only 4 posts? You are a very quiet stalker! Best wishes for your upcoming surgery. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Glad you are here! You too... @@perk4756

How to stop losing weight without gaining it back

@@Rogofulm Making it a game totally sounds like something I can do! I'm competitive to the core, even with myself! Thank you for opening my eyes. It's not about what I can no longer have, it is about what I can now accomplish with what I do have. I am only a couple weeks out from surgery, so I have a ways to go, but you have inspired me today!

    Omg I'm dying...not really but...

@@Jnizzi today I accidentally went ahead a week on the diet plan. I had chicken salad that I made with canned chicken lots of mayo and boiled egg. It went down fine. I chewed it to tiny pieces. I only ate about 2 tablespoons of it. But, alas, I have to let my hubs finish it off. I am back to soupy refried Beans and cottage cheese and Soup tomorrow. I'm such a dork.

    PREOP SCAR TISSUE

@@CanyonBaby couldn't use my belly button either. too many laparoscopies (sp) He did it an inch above the belly button. I begged him to not use my belly button.

    PREOP SCAR TISSUE

@@LousPeachy yep. I warned my surgeon, and he laughed it off. He said it would only add 5 minutes to the surgery. That is something they are used to dealing with. And I have had a previous mass removal where I was gutted from above my belly button all the way down, as well as my radical hysterectomy, and several laparoscopies before the hyster. Don't sweat the scar tissue, or adhesions. They just cut them down.

    Omg I'm dying...not really but...

I watered my refried Beans down with Water to make it kinda soupy. And I only do 2 tablespoons at a time for a meal, since I am just out of purees myself.

    Tuesday: Pre-Op Affairs

Agree!! I did not ask for anyone's "permission" and my husband was not exactly happy about his wife of 30 years having major stomach surgery to lose weight....but I did it. Some days I still have to pinch myself that I actually went through with it. I dreamed of it for years, and now it's done. I'm working through some rough Patches with hunger, but that seems to be finally evening out some. I did it to be healthy...not to be a super model.

    Back to work blues

You could try going to bed a little earlier, or taking power naps at lunch. Make sure to get a source of Protein at Breakfast. I am not back to work yet, but do plan on yogurt, SF Jello, laughing cow cheese, deli meats, chicken salad, nuts, Protein Bar or shakes.
  23. My surgery was 4/23/15. Love Dr Hoehn and the center! The nurses were fabulous!!!!! (the office staff is a bit unorganized...but consider how busy they are!)
