Can it really be this easy?

Yep, stalls happen, but it still works. Just know it's normal.

Do you wear a medical alert bracelet

I got medical alert dog tags

Can it really be this easy?

@@Vad1988 unfortunately my shift at work prevents me from attending the support groups there. I wish I could. I do have a FB support group that started just with the peeps I work with, but others have joined that are relatives, or friends of the surgical patients. I do know some people who go to the support group though. I check them out on their FB page. They record them and put them up there. You could get your feet wet by checking it out on their FB page.

    Peanut butter

I actually like the taste of PB2 better than Jiff or Skippy!

Can it really be this easy?

@@Vad1988 Dr Hoehn is my surgeon too. I had my procedure 4/23/15, and I also had zero complications (aside from constipation), have enjoyed every minute of it and am down a ton of weight. Tim and Dr Sabapathy both are impressed with my progress and that I had no complications!! I think this bariatric center ROCKS!!! (it has been really easy for me too)

    Denied

Worst case scenario is you have to do 3 months of face to face visits. Really..that's not bad. It sounds like a lifetime to someone waiting for the surgery, but it will go faster than you think. The end result is worth all the hoops. I promise.

    Does everyone experience hairloss?

@@hockeyfan7 The hair loss generally happens around the 3rd or 4th month. You are early post op still. Hope you don't experience it, but like most everyone has said....it's just hair, and it does grow back.

    What's for Breakfast?!

When nothing sounds good to me, I always have a few P3's in the fridge, so I just have one of those. 180 cals, 13 gms Protein, 3 carbs. meat, cheese and nuts.
  9. @@laguerr13 Interesting theory. You are probably right.
  10. It has to be verified by the physician that the patient met with the Dr every month for 6 months, without fail. So, no way to fake it. And why would your friend want to? It's really a part of the process that is "necessary", and truly, the wait seemed long, but it really wasn't. As I look back, I regret nothing. Me being a rule follower is something the Psych honed in on, and made me a perfect candidate for the surgery. A cheater will likely fail, just my 2 cents.

How do you break the stall?

LIMIT DAIRY!! Are you on regular foods yet? cheese and milk, etc "hidden fats". Once I focused on meat Proteins and not dairy proteins I was able to break my stalls. I have dairy still, just not every day.

    proudgrammy is very proud

If I won the Power Ball I would totally do it, too!! So excited for you @@proudgrammy Can't wait for the pics like everyone else. You were already stunning.....so the end result will be out of this world beautiful.
  17. There wasn't anything good on TV tonight. This entertained me for a while though. I just can't imagine jumping into surgery 2 weeks after you hear about it. That, in my opinion, is irresponsible. Wishing everyone the best.
  18. I believe I would fail. I've lost weight prior to surgery, but gained it back, and I really believe I am one who need the restriction for longer than 6 months. But, that's just me. I hope it works for others. That would be awesome.
  19. Get one of those pill reminder things from your pharmacy. Mine has 4 slots with snap shut lids. Three for calcium and one for the multi chewable. And I take the first multi chewable upon waking, with an omeprazole. Then the Calcium 2 hours later, and 2 or 2.5 hours I take another calcium chew, and so on. And I take my 2nd Omeprazole with my last pill section of the pill reminder thingy. Just space them out every 2 hours or so as Atontor states above. It's really not a big deal. Don't let that be your deal breaker. It is the greatest thing I have ever done for my health.

    Im so overwhelmed

I kept my bariatric notebook that I got from my bariatric team on my dining room table so I could see what I could have at each phase. It's not really that tough. You'll be fine.

    Spouse Not Supportive, any advice?

My surgery and recovery went amazingly well, as did everyone I know who had it. (and I know A LOT of people who have had it). If you are going to a Bariatric Center of Excellence, you are in good hands. I was out walking 3-5 miles per day a week post op!
