    Varicose Vein/Spider Vein removal?

@@BarrySue Thanks. Yeah, this Dr is supposed to be the best of the best. Even my other Dr's rave about him. So, I feel pretty confident in his practice. Of course, I'll post on here, and let folks know my experience...good or bad.
  2. I took the prescribed pain meds, and it went away on it's own in a day or two.
  3. I had the same pain at around the same time. I think I even started a topic in here about it. It went away. I think it's healing pain. I got responses from many folks who experienced the same thing, also. I never had the gas pains, but I had constipation something awful. The stuff you took for constipation could be causing your cramping, as well. Be safe, and call your dr. Better safe than sorry. Afterall...you did just have major surgery to modify your intestines, so a call to the Dr would be perfectly fine. Plus it will help ease your worry

    Longest Weight Loss Plateau

I stalled at week 3, and now again at 4 months. The scales just tick me off right now, so I am going to shun them for a while. As long as I follow the plan, and eat the way I'm supposed to, drink my Water, and move......I'm not too worried. I know people who work out like a fiend, and they have stalls that last for MONTHS...with an "S"!! I move..walk and such. I try do do 5 miles a day. Just don't drink your calories. Protein first then veges. and DRINK YOUR WATER!! Y'all have a GREAT day!!

    Varicose Vein/Spider Vein removal?

@@BarrySue yikes, really? Have you had a bad experience? I have friends who have had the vein stripping procedure done, and their legs are beautiful years later, and I'm using the same vein dr. I was interested more in what the experience of the actual procedure was. I have been assured that it is not painful, due to the local anesthetic, but what the sensation of the vein pulling is like. Thanks for your response. I appreciate all input and feedback.

    Spider Veins

Resurrecting a really old thread, due to an upcoming vein stripping procedure next week. Would love to hear experiences from others who have already had their veins stripped, and spiders schero'd.

    Coffee?

I was allowed coffee at week 5 post op
  12. I worry when I see my friends who have had the surgery losing so fast, and go from a 22W to a size 5 in 6 months, and I still am not below 200 pounds. Then I did the math. I am actually losing at 2.5 pounds per week. Is that about normal? I know comparing myself to someone else is the wrong thing to do, but I do it. What do you think?
  13. wannaBthinsoon

So, I did the math, after 4 months post surgery

@@mykdzmom You are very wise, and I am just being impatient, which is really dumb..Thanks for your response!!

So, I did the math, after 4 months post surgery

Ok, sounds like we're pretty normal. I'm not going to sweat it. I'm not gaining anymore, that's for sure!

When did you get your EGD?

@@lmm300missouri I remember I was not "out" for my EGD. But it didn't bother me. I think I just got enough twilight sleep drugs to take the edge off. I remember it all. But didn't care. HA! I didn't have to remove my clothes, just my hoodie jacket. I have had a totally uneventful recovery, and I have lost quite a bit of weight. My only tip is to get yourself some Miralax that dissolves in Water. The pain meds cause severe constipation. That is the only complication I had. At week 3 I had a twinge in my large incision occasionally. That is normal. I was just healing. No more twinges after week 6. Best of luck to you! But you won't need it. Your doctors are the VERY best of the VERY best. We are lucky to have them.

When did you get your EGD?

@@lmm300missouri We went to the same facility! I love it when I run across folks who are local!! Aragon did my EGD..easy peasy!

    Leaks

I agree with the other posters here. Follow your instructions post surgery to avoid leaks. My Dr had 2 leaks in his whole career. You want to know why? Because one patient thought it was ok to eat a bag of doritos home from the hospital, and the other one thought it was ok to eat a t-bone steak. Follow your instructions, and I would wager that you will be perfectly fine.

    Where did my hunger go?

@@lynneanne it'll come off. Don't stress, its not a race. Smooches!
  21. I am nearly 3 months post op. I have been hungry every day. I had no trouble eating. Some things were too dense, so I avoided them (chicken, pork) But cottage cheese, eggs, meatballs, Protein drink, almost anything else went down fine. Till yesterday. Yesterday I had no hunger. Now, I know I'm not sick. I feel healthy and not ill. But the thought of food makes my stomach turn. I am only able to eat maybe a spoonful or two, and I have to quit. Do you suppose it took this long for the Grehlin to leave my system? Any ideas are appreciated.

Can it really be this easy?

@@sallydswanson The constipation is an ongoing problem for me, as well. I have to take stool softeners every day. I think that's from having only Protein, since there is no room for enough veggies to make things move. I am 4 months out.

    Peanut butter

I just add a little Water to PB2, stir it up and eat it with a spoon, just like Peanut Butter, only better.

How long till the pain goes away?

It could be your diaphragm is bruised from the drain, if you had a drain. That took a day or two for me to feel better. I never had any gas pains, thank goodness. I heard they were pretty painful.
