Without Protein, the human body cannot function normally. You need to talk with your nutritionist about this. You need to find a way to get in your protein. (fluids also...actually fluids moreso)
-
15gm a day is way too low. Do whatever you have to do to get that Protein in. You are doing harm to yourself if you don't.

Go-to sleevey snack
wannaBthinsoon replied to Mega_100's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Mega_100 P3's are generally in the lunch meat section, they are like lunchables. they have diced eat, diced cheese and nuts. Perfectly portioned, and great protein!! (genereally 15 gms) It is a meal for me. I don't actually snack. I don't have room to snack. (4 1/2 months post op) -

P3's are my go-to snacks!! Love them. Good sources of protein! -
I agree with @@VSGAnn2014 . My hubs and I have been married 28 years. I decided to do this, and he only had concerns about the safety of the procedure. Once I was healed, and we were out walking or hiking, and he had his best bud back...he's been great. The same guy I married, and the same guy he was the day of my surgery. No drama, no head games, no threats, or insecurities. I'd say my guy is pretty normal. I'd say some of these other guys are not normal.

How long did your hair fall out?
wannaBthinsoon replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I noticed lots of strands in my sink, on the floor, in the shower drain, on my clothes, at about 3 months. 4 1/2 months later and it has quit. I have very thick wavy (but fine) hair. absolutely not noticeable. I think I was lucky. Or it was the biotin I have been taking every day for the past 4 years growing out a pixie. It could be that. -
Insure protein just delivered
wannaBthinsoon replied to lsmith715's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
couldn't hurt to sign up and they'll let you know if Kaiser will approve it or not. I have UHC. -
My hubs is a big man too. He struggled with supporting me when I decided to do this. I did it. I didn't ask him for permission to do it, or his approval to do it. I just did it. He can love it or leave it. This is about me. Well...the other day we were in the kitchen, and I was dressed in some tight black capri pants, and a longer tunic, and he said his first supportive thing...."you're disappearing! Turn sideways and I can barely see you"... I'll take that! HA! Sounds like jealousy to me, though @@dhrguru Just take care of you, and he will climb on board. In his head he is thinking all the things you need to hear....but he hasn't found a way to speak them yet.

Insure protein just delivered
wannaBthinsoon replied to lsmith715's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For sure!! I can't possibly go through that much Protein in one month!! So I will stockpile too! At 5 months out from surgery, I wish I had known about this earlier. But $5000 for scar cream?? For that cost it should make them magically disappear! I'll take a bath in it! Oh, and they said I can cancel the subscription at any time. They are really great about calling me right back, if I leave a message with them, or email them. If you email about possibly cancelling, you get an immediate call from a supervisor. It just floors me that this is a REAL thing! -
I tried insure nutrition
wannaBthinsoon replied to cdaddy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told I would NEVER be expected to pay a dime. When my insurance starts over in January, and I have a deductible and OOP to meet, they will halt shipments until I don't pay anything.. And if something is shipped out, and the insurance doesn't pay (deductible and oop) I can keep the products at no cost to me. -

@@lsmith715 I registered with them too. I called my RX co (where the scar cream will come from) and I was told the scar cream is $5000!!! Holy moly! I could get a tummy tuck for $5000!! But my insurance approved it, and my first shipment of Protein, my scar cream, and my Vitamins are on their way. I was assured I will never be expected to pay a dime. when insurance starts over in January, and I have an out of pocket to meet, then I won't be getting it, until my OOP has been met, and there will be no charge to me. They said if the products are delivered, but they find that insurance won't pay it, I can keep the product. It's a win-win! So happy a friend told me about this!! -

Surgery tomorrow 5:30 AM
wannaBthinsoon replied to mafe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats to the newbies! You really don't need much more than the clothes you plan to leave in, and some flip flops. I was only there long enough to be sleeved, wake up, walk, sleep walk some more, pee and leave. You don't really need much. a toothbrush. You'll want to take a toothbrush and a hair brush or a comb. I took off a month. It was heaven. I had a wonderful recovery. A rough 3 or 4 days, but after that, it was awesome. I used that time to not only recover, but to re-learn how to eat, and to do some hiking with the hubs. It was awesome. Oh, I said that already. -
I still have a ways to go...but I love my leggings too! Who knew leggings would be this old lady's new PANTS?!!

Omeprazole was prescribed for me for 6 months post surgery. I take it morning and night. I think reflux is expected. it should resolve itself after a couple of months. Ask the Doc for Prilosec or Omeprazole.

Varicose Vein/Spider Vein removal?
wannaBthinsoon replied to robinagogo88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They do sonograms on both legs to determine the severity of the venous insufficiency. I nearly fainted a couple of times standing for so long while they pressed the sonogram wand into my veins. But I could hear the veins "back-flow". it was weird. Anyway...my insurance is covering it all. Thank goodness I had my largest vein removed yesterday. All the needle sticks to numb me were slightly painful....but after that procedure I told the doc that I wouldn't ever get a tattoo. He said, this is NOTHING....wait till we do the spiders. THAT will be more like getting a tattoo. UGH! the things we do for our health and beauty. -
Varicose Vein/Spider Vein removal?
wannaBthinsoon replied to robinagogo88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weightloss doesn't help the vein issue. And for those of you who's insurance won't cover it because you aren't in ENOUGH pain....you need to be more "convincing". That's what I did. When asked how bad it hurts...say REALLY REALLY bad...include swelling, and ulcerations (I had 2 sores that took over a year to heal on my shin)..oh, and when asked if you tried compression hose tell them yes....for YEARS!! -
Varicose Vein/Spider Vein removal?
wannaBthinsoon replied to robinagogo88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@honeybunz My varicose veins hurt and cause leg swelling, and ulcers (sorry for the visual). So mine are covered by insurance. And I have had them for 30 years or more. thin or fat, I had them. The spiders got worse as I got heavier, but they too will be taken care of, since they hurt, and are part of the same problem of the varicose veins. I don't know if that answered your question. -

someone told me to cut out dairy and that will help break the stall. That has seemed to hold true for me too. I need to cut out dairy for a week or so, so I can crank up the losing once again!
