    What's for breakfast?!

@@Elode Thanks, that helps. I just want to get below 200! I believe if I did, it would start to fall off again. It's that dang 200 pound hump it's having an issue getting over. I really pray I see 157 by my 1 year!!
  3. Those liquid pain meds they sent home with me caused me some SERIOUS constipation. Be careful with taking the pain meds. I thought at one point that I was going to have to have my "blockage" surgically removed. Just...be careful.

    What's for breakfast?!

@@Elode pfft! I gained a pound this morning! I haven't lost anything for a month. Getting a little annoyed. I'm giving up cheese and see if that will help make the scales move.

    What's for breakfast?!

@@Elode That makes much more sense to me!! I was freaking out a little bit. As tiny as you are, eating that ranch hand breakfast! hahahahaha!!
  7. My first 3 or 4 days sucked, like @@LipstickLady says above. My first 3 weeks, however, did not suck. I walked A LOT. We went to a park and walked 3 miles every day beginning at day 4, and I had the most wonderful, enjoyable recovery. I think if I had layed around the house, I may not have had the experience I had. But this is just me. I can only speak for myself. Congratulations to you for choosing to be healthy!! I am always inspired by the people just having surgery and posting their experiences. It takes me back to my early experiences, which, I wouldn't trade for anything.

    Senior needs help fast.

I am only 6 month post op with gastric sleeve, so I can't offer much, either, except I know plenty of folks who have done extremely well with gastric bypass. They do so many of these surgeries now days, they have become experts. Hang in there, you'll be better than fine!

    What's for breakfast?!

@@Elode now that looks like a lot of food...to me....at 6 months post op, I can't finish a whole scrambled egg at one time. Your breakfast looks heavenly!

    Support after Sleeve?

@@animallover1247 You totally can. My hubs was here, of course (he's retired), but I didn't need his help for anything. Except for a walking buddy. He walked with me in the park every day. But I didn't need any help to "care" for myself. I made sure to have broths, Soups, (approved Protein sources) plus sugar free popsicles, Jello, and Water available once I got home. I was able to drive and go shopping after the 3rd day. You'll be ok.
  12. Thank you for starting the thread @@VSGAnn2014 . I have not reached maintenance yet. I am almost at 6 months post op, and my weight loss has slowed to a snails pace. Reading this helped me realize that its not a race. This is my life. I was up a pound this morning, and I almost let it ruin my day. Again...thank you!

    Helpppppp.......

I agree with the posts above mine about...."who's to say what's losing too fast?" I've never seen a rule book that states you can ONLY lose so much weight in any given amount of time. It sounds like you are doing everything right for you! GO YOU!

    What's for breakfast?!

I was up a pound this morning. (damn scales!) So, I just had a scrambled egg for breakfast today. No dairy. (I hear if you avoid dairy it will jumpstart the losing process again....so I am testing that theory). I had a hard time finishing that one egg. What's up with that??? Have a great Sunday everybody!

    Bummed and angry

My hubs and I went out yesterday for a fun-filled day of antique shopping in the country. The weather was a cool 60 degrees, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We walked for hours and hours. I was able to slip through narrow isles full of expensive, antique glass items, and not jiggle the table, or worry about knocking anything off the table when I walked by. (that's a great feeling, btw) Then we went to the corner cafe in the same small town (known for their fabulous BBQ) and we "shared" a plate of ribs and baked Beans. I had 2 small ribs and a spoonful of the beans, and he ate the rest. We still had a wonderful day! We both got to enjoy our meal. And, with me having part of his plate, he also didn't overeat. It was a win-win. I was able to enjoy my day, my husband and the experience, and not have constant thoughts of "what do I get to eat", Because, really, I can eat whatever I want. I just don't want so much of it anymore. Best to you!

    Waiting for approval

The waiting is the hardest part of all this. (In my opinion)

    Support after Sleeve?

You might also need some emotional support, because things will be very different for you once you get home and reality sets in. It's been a dream thus far, but once the surgery is done, and you are home.....that's when regret can set in, because you can get bored, and (a little) angry that you can't self medicate or _celebrate, or emotionally eat anymore. These forums provide tons and tons of support. I couldn't have gone through this alone, and my husband didn't understand what I was going through. But these fine folks did. All the best to you, and if you need anything....give a shout out!

    What's for breakfast?!

@@Elode I don't like exercise either. All I really care to do is walk. And then it's generally just from place to place. But if I have someone to chat with, I'll walk forever.

    What's for breakfast?!

I really like the Pure Protein bars too. I get them at Sams. But, I don't generally have a Protein Bar or Protein shake for Breakfast anymore. For breakfast I generally have an Oikos triple 0 greek yogurt (15 gms protein) and about an hour or so after that (I am STILL hungry!!) I have a P3 (meat cubes, cheese cubes and some unsalted nuts-prepackaged) 13 gms Protein. I am soooo hungry in the mornings!

Quit smoking but is vape ok?

I quit smoking 6 months before my surgery by vaping 0 nicotine from the very beginning. Dr had no issues whatsoever with this. I mostly vape in the car too. Melonball is my flavor of choice these days! Still nicotine free!!

From medical mutual to United healthcare

go to a free seminar first thing...that was a big requirement for me and I have UHC. That and I had to have proof I tried to diet before and failed. I had receipts from Nutra system, slim4life, weight watchers, and I also got my weights 5 years back from my obgyn. (since I for sure went their every year). Good luck to you. UHC was great to deal with for me.
