Princesst...Please give us slow losers some advise as to how you have done soooo well with your weight loss

I am 16 months out and my port is exactly where yours is just at my bra line and it bothers me often. My port also feels very big, as a matter of fact Dec of 07 I had to have a ultrasound and CT my PCP referred me to a surgeon thinking it might be a hernia....Turned out to just be my port and it is fine. According to my fill doctor she says a lot of her patients that have their port placed where we do complain about it being uncomfortable.

A lot of time I have one when I get home from work while I am getting ready to go out. Then several after dinner if we are out with a group of friends. Havent noticed any difference either in the effect.

Without sounding like one big lush, I have continued going out with friends on weekends and I drink mixed drinks with either flat diet soda or fruit drinks. I know it has slowed my weight loss down but I went into this as a life long thing and am not going to change my lifestyle so drastically which is also why I dont keep my band so tight that it limits foods, moderation is what I was looking for.

Great post Donna, Thanks. I totally agree with your concept. I have had the band for over a year now and have never kept it so tight that I couldnt eat what I wanted. I entered this trip with the idea that I dont want to be limited to any foods and be on a "DIET" for the rest of my life. I am using the band to help me learn to eat health and in moderation. I was banded Aug 07 and still have tenderness alot with my port. If I could change one thing regarding my band it would be the area my port was place..Being placed right under my left rib my Bra is always putting pressure on it.....Maybe one day I will have my port replaced and moved to a better place.

Thanks Mica for the post. I to get tired of reading post on here bashing Betancourt. I find that to be a very strange remark by Johnnyreno, guess I shoud say the same in response because ANY ONE AT ANY TIME CAN HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANY SURGICAL PROC NO MATER WHO It IS DONE BY. I can only repeat again "MY" experience at Betancourt went very well.

I had my surg done Aug 07 at Betancourt Clinic....As far as my experience goes Andres and the whole group were great to me. Very personable and caring. Just my two cents on the subject....

Wow, Thanks for posting your story....sounds like a very rough 6 months. Having had my surgery done in tijuana I totally agree that all the doctors here in the states always want to put the blame on the surgeons in Mexico....

Thanks for sharing your story...I really enjoyed reading it. Just a reminder of how great are bands are.

I try and stick to the ww points also. Have done ww off and on for so long it seems natural to keep the points added in my head. The weekends are usually what get me off track. I enjoy going out with friends and having a few drinks but during the week I keep a close watch on the points I use.

Does Dr Williams use fluroscopy? and if so is there an additional fee? Thanks and any info on Dr Williams would be appreciated.

Thanks Jerro for the information. Since your g/f goes to dr Williams can you give me some feed back as to how she likes his office/him. Wondering if he uses fluro to do his fills and what their pre and post fill instructions are. Thanks for any info you could share.

I go to the office in Roswell and have not had to much trouble except when I was over filled having a choice of driving 5-6 hrs or waiting 2 weeks was not very convenient. I also feel the fees are very high and think its horrible to have to pay for a slight unfill with in a few weeks of paying for a fill.

I can sure relate to the french fries not doing well. Luckily they are the only thing I have found that I cant eat. Thank goodness for baked potatoes.

Hi every one, I'm still in search of a local doctor who will accept me as a patient here in the Atlanta area. I had my surg done Aug 07 at Betancourt medical center in TJ Mexico. Ok so I have learned since that using them probably wasnt such a good idea but I my insurance wouldnt cover the surg and I am a self-pay. After many request I was told that they dont have any medical records regarding my surg and since all I have is a book and a card with the type band I have no doctors here will see me. I am not having any problems and have had 3 fills with USA Fill center but I would like the security of having a local doctor if I ever needed one. If there is any one who could be of any help PLEASE let me know. Thanks

I have a lot of problems in that area too and have been told its just my port. (kinda wish they had of put it a little lower)

Sorry I cant help with any suggestions but I live in Atlanta Ga and am also looking for a doctor who will take patients who had surg done in MX Good luck...

I went along with some other patients who were there and one of them was there for her 1st fill.....I asked to go in and watch and they let me ( had to stay behind the screen) and after I saw her swallowing the barium and them doing the fill. I told them I didnt see any real need for me to do it....(I know I know...WRONG) We have to keep in mind I was a newbie and yes very naive. I was pretty disappointed today when I got a message from my PCP's off that they tried but cant find a doctor who will accept me either I will just keep trying hopefully I will eventually find one.
