Still looking for a local dr to accept Mx surg
KJDVILLE replied to KJDVILLE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The information I got on the surgeon before I ever went down was on Dr Lopez...listed as Jesus Martin Lopez Dominguez MD his creditionals look real goon on paper. All of my contact was done through Andres who was very nice and was very caring. Again I will say the experience went very well. I had no problems with any thing other than trying to get my OR and that doesnt seem real important to the people in MX. I never had a barium swallow x-ray done, he Andres did let me go in and watch another patient get her 1st fill and I could have had one done at that point but didnt think it was necessary (if only I knew then what I know now). Hopefully me PCP will be able to locate a doctor since I now have a current ultrasound and CT,EKG and blood work. Which all came back fine...especially the blood work. -
I also follow the WW points. I try to stay between 25-27 points a day and find in doing that the scale will move. My body doent react that will with limiting my calorie to 600-900 I had been doing that and was at a stand still for a month or so. First week following the point system and was able to loose 4 pounds...........yahooooo

Still looking for a local dr to accept Mx surg
KJDVILLE replied to KJDVILLE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I totally agree, I started asking for my records the day after surg and was assured I would be given them before I left. Well the day I left again I was assured they would be sent to me......After getting home and contacting them again I was told they do keep any records..But they did send me brief letter explaining the surgery went well and there were no complications. So now all I have is a book, card and a short little letter and the doctors here wont accept that. -

KJDVILLE replied to noodleliz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry I cant be of any help in your area but I am in the same situation of looking for a doctor near the Atlanta GA area. I wish you Luck -
Thanks Green, I will print off the list and start checking in the morning. Do ya think Dr. Ponce uses gold when he does his fills....For those fees it should be.....LOL
-
Hi everyone, I also live in Atlanta but had my Lapband done in Mexico. Other than USAFILLCenter which I have used I have not been able to find any doctor who will take me as a patient. I am just looking for a practice for my fills and if ever needed for any complication that are here locally. Please keep us posted if you are able to locate a doctor here or close by to Atlanta.

I also can feel my port under my left rib and it stays sore all the time. Several months ago my general doctor thought it might be a hernia and sent me to a surgeon who suggested I have a ultra sound and a CAT scan done. I had both and it was determined it was just my "port" Being able to feel my band so easily has been for me the biggest issue I have had. I had my surgery done in Mexico and use fillcenter usa which I have had no problems with but at time I think it would be nice to have my port deeper so it wouldnt bother me so much.

I was banded August 26th and would like to be added also...... -
Please tell me what you feel is so bad about Lopez and Betancourt medical grp. I had my surgery done there Aug 26 2007 and I thought all went very well.... thanks

oops forgot to update my ticker.....4 more pounds down
-
That is very interesting because roasted chicken is what I had been eating for the protein since I had cut out the dairy products thinking that might have been what was causing the massive gas and diarrhea. Yesterday I decided to stop everything I had been eating and just ate part of a banana and some steamed white rice then for dinner some crackers. This morning I actually feel pretty good so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that maybe its about over.. Thanks for all the input, I think this forum is great!!!!
-
That was my first thought also, but I have stopped the dairy products and so far its not any better but I will give it a few more days. Since I had my surgery in Mexico I dont really have a Dr yet for my lap band care. I have been looking into Fillcenters USA and will prob be contacting them soon regarding being checked and my fills. Thanks for the help ....

Keeping my surgery secret from most of my family, has anyone else
KJDVILLE replied to misjanete's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow great responses, I think that is what I will tell ppl also. Being only a month out and only 16 pounds lost no one has really said any thing. But when the time comes and they start to notice I wont feel untruthful by telling any one that I am just eating healthier and trying to exercise more. Would love to hear if any one has any problems with gas and diarrhea starting around their 1 month mark...All had been great but this week it driving me nuts.. -
Hello to everyone, Thanks for all the great responses its great speaking with ppl who are all in the same stage. I have a question to everyone.....and would love to hear any experiences. My surg was done Aug 26 2007 every thing has been going pretty well up until this week. I have begun to have terrible gas pains and some diarrhea. My eating habits have not changed other than this week I am really not wanting to eat much because I know what the out come will be..(running to the bathroom) I have taken some Imodium A-D and as of yet have gotten no relief. FYI stoped the protein shakes and dairy products a few days ago and have been eating soup....ANY idea's or any one having the same issue???? :help:

Keeping my surgery secret from most of my family, has anyone else
KJDVILLE replied to misjanete's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think now that I am a month out I might be more willing to talk to ppl about having the Lap band. I really think I was hesitant of talking about it because I didnt know for sure how things would go after being banded. Now I see things are going pretty smoothly and I am feeling more relaxed. Next step will be getting my 1st fill and getting into a excercise routine.. -
Hey everyone, Thanks for the great ideas. I just recently purchased an elliptical Sunday and can tell already that will take some time to build up to ..hahaha two minutes an I thought I had run a marathon. After reading some of these post I am getting a little nervous about my first fill...Is any one else feeling a little nervous?
-
Hey Lawanda, I am also a month out and have only lost 15 pounds also and I think that was when I was on total liquids. I think I have only lost a pound since being back on liquids and I am a little discouraged. Even though my band is unfilled I still limit my food intake to 3/4 to a cup at a meal. I am going to start looking into a fill by the end of October I hope. I am sill waiting on my surgical reports from Mexico. Trying to stay positive cause I know this was a great choice..

How to check on Doctors in Mexico?
KJDVILLE replied to tribon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi, I'm new here but had my surgery done at Betancourt medical center by Dr Lopez on Aug 26th 2007. I have not really had any major problems but reading this thread is scaring me to death...I couldnt find any negative info on Dr Lopez before I had the surgery. Any info would be greatly appreciated for future reference...
