"....Perhaps the U.S. government SHOULD care more about how other countries feel about them." You have got to be kidding me! No matter what action the U.S. takes there will always be nut job fringe elements that want us dead. You can try to appease them and all that will do is make you an easier target. I don’t recall the U.S. starting this war. And this war has been going on for a long time it’s not just since 9-11. I lost many a brother Marine in the barracks in Beirut in 1983. And lets not forget about the bombing of the U.S.S Cole in 2000, and then of course there is the attack of 9-11. The U.S provoked none of those Attacks.

Share your ideas, what did you eat today?
BuffettPhan replied to daveintoronto's topic in The Guys’ Room
Breakfast: protein drink, and a med iced coffee from local store. Skim milk and sweet and low. Snack: only every once in a while but I take a low fat string cheese and a wheat tortilla and 1tlbspoon of salsa. Generally I cut the cheese and tortilla in ½ and make two portions, takes longer to eat. Lunch: usually very lat in the day 1:30 – 2:00, some kind of grilled meat most of the time chicken thigh boneless skinless from Wall Mart with some grilled vegetables. Dinner: for the last few weeks I have been swimming after work I have been hitting the mile mark just about every night. When I get home I am just not hungry. But what I have been eating is a sliced tomato, some mozzarella cheese and olive oil and balsamic vinegar w/ salt and pepper or some soup. Before I started the evening swims though dinner was my worst meal. A whole chicken breast vegetables and a pita bread. -
Also have 2nd fill in the morning.

I have been back in the pool for a week and hit the mile mark tonight, 66 laps = 1650 = 1 mile. Took about 45 - 55 minutes now I am going to work on cutting the time.

Ode to Thanksgiving (and the weight I gained back due to it)
BuffettPhan replied to abckids's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes , thanksgiving was hell for me too. Turkey was not dry as we deep fry them abound my house. All the favorites were out pumpkin, and pecan pie. Dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy. I go for a fill on Monday and will see then what kind of damage I did. If I were to guess I would say 3 –5 lbs. -
So I have on fill in and have noticed some difference. But I am worried that I am eating too much. I am eating way more than ½ a cup of food. Any guidance?
-
should say one fill in

Just noticed that my ticker is off by 1lbs, not going to change it though. I will wait until I weigh in again on Sunday and adjust then.

Hey just got back from the Dr.’s had my first fill. It was nothing, I got the numbing shot and then the fill. I looked at he needle before and it was filled to 5 1/2 cc’s and when she was finished it was empty. I can only guess that I got it all, but did not ask. On liquid for the rest of the day and then until lunch tomorrow. I am down 23lbs total from pre op diet and banding (now a month ago). I go back on Nov 26ht for another fill.

I was bannded Oct 4 and I can eat just about anything and my hunger is back w/ a vengance. I don't recall ever eating pureed foods mostly just stuck to liquids and then soft foods lots of eggs. I have eaten a fresh made ground patty with no problem and sausage in my redbeans & rice(New Orleans dish I don't eat it with the rice never have) My first fill is Nov 12. -
GNC has the 100% whey and it comes in tons of flavors. It ranges from 110 - 130 cal per 8oz serving and I found is cheaper than the Isopure. I am always on the go and that has been breakfast since day one of full liquids. If i get my full protein in am fine with no hunger but if I don't I am starving.

Me too same spots still numb. Dr. told me it was very common with ps, but that he didn't hear it much from LB

I am a week post op and feeling fine. Still have a good bit of gas, but according to my wife that is nothing new. My concern is that I do not feel as if I am banded at all. I can dammed near slam a 20 oz bottle of Water and if I don’t think about it I can eat as fast as I did pre band. I have not been hungry but seem to be eating all the time and drinking all the time. I have followed, to the letter, the post op diet. In a day I eat 2-3 slim-fasts, a few of the to go cups of SF pudding or SF Jell-O. A cup of Soup for lunch and a ½ - ¾ of a can of some kind of soup for dinner. I also may get mashed up banana for a late night snack. As far as water goes I generally have 2-3 of the Sam’s choice 20oz bottles and a few glasses of SF kool-aid through out the day. BTW...I have no idea why the first few lines of all my posts are in bold

Sorry this is just my rambling thoughts hope ya’ll can make sense of it. Well I am now 6 days post op and doing very well. Still cannot sleep in the bed as I sleep on my stomach so I am on the recliner. I still have a bit of pressure in my left shoulder and I am sure it is gas. Doesn’t hurt I just know it is there. I am on full liquids and today introduced rip banana 34 of one and I was full. My recovery has been smooth. Operation day was the worst a good bit of pain for me it was more from the cuts than gas, but the Dr gave me lots of good dope and I was able to check out and head home by 5pm. (operation was 9:30am) Walking for me has been the key and lots of water. I started drinking once I was in my hospital room and really have not had any trouble getting a min of 64oz a day in. I have 5 incisions and I have no idea what one is the port. Two are still very sore I think one was where they put the band in and the other must be the port. I have Dr appointment on Friday and will ask then, never thought to ask before leaving the hospital. Weight loss has been about a pound a day. I have not been hungry once and so far my diet has been slim fast, SF pudding, SF jello, and soup. First two days after banding I was on clear liquid that sucked. Today I had decaf ice coffee w/ skim, ¾ banana, one slim fast, cup of tortilla soup broth only, 1 cup of cream of mushroom, two SF instant puddings and I just finished a mashed up banana. Hope this helps a bit.
