Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!
SimplySue replied to Marielbx's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@downsizingdebs , also sorry to hear of your struggles. Would your mate be willing to work out with you or do something together? my spouse took up running 2 years ago & has been very encouraging about weight loss, getting in shape & even willing to try eating better. We have signed up for a non timed 5k this spring (my 1st, not his)- still not sure if walking or running. -
@@Kathy812 , glad you had it checked out & even more glad that all is good! What a relief- you must feel lighter???? & you're welcome

Welcome to @@FinallyFit50s & @Jovie62. I have been quiet this week as I have had an awful cold or flu & am finally getting better. As of early this week I am down 52 lbs since my surgery October 9th,62 lbs altogether.

Yay for you!!! How are you doing?

October 2014 sleevers check in please!
SimplySue replied to Jen - a work in progress's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had hit my 1st stall for about 10 days which I attributed to increased carbs & the holidays with less exercise, but the day after I was very naughty with my diet & had more calories than I had since surgery (1100), I was down 2 lbs! But I had been much better about protein & fluids prior to this (& I had last weighed 3 days before that). -
Getting super sick 2 days before surgery!

Good luck & well wishes to you tomorrow @@alovelynewme . -
Yes, I was quite tired & sleepy initially. Even in the 2nd into 3rd weeks, I was still napping. Were you anemic before surgery? We had labs done at our 1 week & that should pick that up.

@@LainieG & @@LisaGB , I hope you both hear soon! @@LisaGB -As far as proteins- did your surgeon mean shakes or other? I used the powders & mixed with unsweetened vanilla almond milk, but some others liked the ready to drink. I'd recommend getting some samples to try 1st as the can be expensive. Also don't get too much as your taste can change post op. Several of the Bariatric sites do sample sizes like Bariatric pal or NashuaNutrition. I liked the trutein (they also do samples) especially chocolate peanut butter & lemon (mixed with almond milk) as well as the chocolate splendor from Unjury. The Unjury can be ordered online, but our hospital pharmacy carried that including their sample pack. Queen, good to hear from you again.

Had a lovely NSV today! Went shopping & got several sweaters & 3 pairs of size 18 pants AT THE ACTUAL Old Navy store (you can't get plus size at the stores- it's online only!) I actually tried on pair of size 20s & they were TOO BIG!!! -
Divorce after plastic surgery and/or bariatric surgery
SimplySue replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
@@glgk30 it sounds like it's his problem not yours, but so sorry that you have come so far to discover this-what did he think would happen?I agree that you must be a strong person to have accomplished all that you have in order to get a TT & liposuction. I wish you continued strength & perseverance to get through this, but don't let him take away your accomplishments. -

Divorce after plastic surgery and/or bariatric surgery
SimplySue replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
One of the reasons I postponed my WLS was that the majority of folks I knew who had it, got divorced! 5 years later, I am now 12 weeks post op & still married! My hubby has been very supportive & so far, so good. We went on a marriage retreat several weeks after surgery because of my concerns. He's even mentioned going to ballroom dancing lessons! -
Yay for puréed! It will get better with time. More variety for you & just keep listening to your sleeve @@mjmboston

Belated Merry Christmas- I am still here, just got a bit busy with work & the holidays & nothing much to report except that at 11 weeks out my hair has begun to thin (it was already fine & thin), doing ok getting my protein & vitamins, good 2 month report & labs all normal. @@mjmboston , congratulations on your surgery. Have you advanced to the purée yet? There are better options there for savory. Also, I thought the protein- chicken soup favor was good & they sell it at the pharmacy at Highland for a good price-the unjury,
