what type of scale do you use?
LeeBee17 replied to GenaW828's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Our weight fluctuates based on so many different factors: water retention, hydration, sodium, food consumed, if you're female also your cycle has an impact. Don't stress about it! It's totally normal. Just look for weight loss over time (like once a month)... also I agree with BLERDgirl who says to weight at the same time of day/same scale/same place. For me, it's in the morning, before my coffee -
I generally mind my own business when I meet a very obese person
LeeBee17 replied to CowgirlJane's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I wouldn't dream of talking to an obese person about their weight. It's not my place and who am I to judge? I feel strongly about it, because I think back to how upset I would have been if someone accosted me at my heaviest and offered advice, even if well-meaning. I appreciate from your post that you are not preachy or a WLS evangelist (lol good term). This man seems to be reconciled with his choices, so good for him! -
I traveled shortly after my procedure, from the US to Turkey! I just brought Protein powder in my carry-on, and bought a shaker with lid, so I could mix my own Protein drinks on the go. I was transitioning from full liquids to the mushy foods phase...and while it was all new/different, I didn't find it so hard to find something I could eat, wherever we went. I think you'll be fine!! As for heavy lifting, I would avoid that...but I think you'll be able to be active enough to help with small stuff. Have fun and good luck! exciting!

what type of scale do you use?
LeeBee17 replied to GenaW828's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I use the Fitbit scale (Aria) and it syncs with my Fitbit and MyFitnessPal apps. I weigh myself almost every day...which works for some people, not for others. Like you, my weight fluctuates (±0.5-1.5 lbs), and as long as you know and are mentally prepared for it, it's ok! My scale typically weighs me as 1 lb less than the Dr's office scale. -

Hey DevineMissM, My SW was 240 and I was sleeved 8/22/14, same week as you! My loss is about the same as yours too, 65 lbs. We are surgery twins basically. -

August post op sleevers: Check in
LeeBee17 replied to motherof5's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey August Sleevers... I'm celebrating fitting into a size 12, which is even starting to get a little loose and size Medium tops. Don't remember ever fitting into Medium. I'm getting married in September, so I hope I can lose a little more before then. I've met my surgeon's goal of 175, but at 5'5, I feel that's still a little high for me. I'd ideally love to get down to 160 or 150...but given how slow my weight loss has been since the beginning, I'm starting to have some doubts! The surgeon says that the next 3 months will be crucial for me to step up my efforts, because in month 9 in pretty much slows to 1-2 lbs/month. I'm feeling frustrated at how slow my weight loss has been, but paradoxically...I'm also really happy to be living my life in a more "normal" size, and grateful for the opportunity. Just the roller-coaster I'm on! -
175.9 this morning.
