I want it out! Frustrated and depressed...

Ducky, I feel your pain. I was in your shoes for a year and I finally got my band out on Tuesday. I feel like my life has been given back to me and I now do not need to worry about where the next trashcan is or what is going to get stuck. Sometimes, it just doesn't work out and that's okay. How are you coming along?

    Worried sick

Hockey mother, you aren't the only one that's happening to. It happened to me for over a year. The food getting stuck, profuse vomiting for over an hour, and being debilitated for hours afterward. This would happen at least once a week, and with a zero CC fill. We're not alone!! After all the acid coming up, my doctor and I decided to remove the band. I had it removed yesterday. I had the option to go with the bypass or the sleeve but I opted to be finished and done. I know I can get on the eating right and gym wagon after my sternum and stomach area feel normal again from all the damage that's bee done from the vomiting. Be sure it doesn't happen often, because that's super dangerous.

    Had some fluid taken out!

I felt your pain. I had 6 cc in my 10 cc band and began vomiting terrible, and had only lost 30 lbs. I continued to vomit all the way down to 0 cc of fluid in my band. Alas, the band had to be removed. It's a struggle for us, but we can do it one way or another!

    repair or removal?

My surgeon has advised me that bands are becoming less and less popular and effective (in terms of their complications) as well. If it were me, I'd have it out and be done with the band.

    Lap band removal or revision

I had my band removed yesterday. I don't feel like a loser or a reject and I didn't want anything converted. I wanted it out, done and finished. I was so tired of the vomiting and debilitating feeling after vomiting and not being able to go about my life. I feel so relieved and know that now, I can eat better and not vomit from random things and actually exercise. Keep your head up there, people! We can so do it!
  7. I had my lap band out yesterday and was told by my surgeon the following: Day 1: liquids Day 2: liquids into soft foods Day 3: soft foods into solid foods Try to avoid greasy stuff in the first few weeks. Be sure this is a gradual change. Clearly, this is as long as you tolerate the solid foods. Hope this helps
