I've had that pain you speak of...I had Pasta (even though i shouldnt have because im only 4 weeks in) jachut is right i ate to much at once and didnt chew chew chew... I thought it was maybe blockage or that my stomach was working overtime to process the food and caused a little pain cause the band is there....but it scared me so i take it easy...the next couple of days i just did liquid to make sure i was good TAKE IT EASY!! WHEN U EAT SOMETHING JUST EAT TO KNOW U HAVE SOMETHING...THEN WHEN U GET HUNGRY AGAIN "SIP SIP SIP" -

Try myoplex...its already mixed the packs come with 4 "to go" containers. One container has 42g of protein, plus they also have the powder mix. the only flavor i dont like is cookies and cream..try them though i take them to work( im a teacher) its great it has a twist off cap too..lol (no way to drink a whole one at once) -

I would say wait because you dont want to break your diet and eat something that could hurt you...but then again i did my surgery right at the end of the summer when all the last min. BBQ's were going on....I wanted that band asap, to start a new beginning for me....It felt so good to know i left BBQ's not sneaking anything I felt like my will power was top of the line. and like someone mentioned think of how great you will look by Christmas and even new years!!! you will be fine, because u want change and thats what the band provides....BUT you know yourself better than we do. If its going to be a problem and your cooking, and your gonna have to taste the food, and you dont want people asking question, ect. then hold of till you feel ready!!!

has anyone lost 50lbs or more and how long did it take?
LifeLover03 replied to andielmt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctors tried to make me get the Gastric Bypass as well...they told me i would only lose 30-50 and im sure i passed 30...i dont know why they do that but you have to be confortable with your decision. gastric is nor reverseable....if you can lose weight with a tool instead of re-routing you organs then why not... but you have to be confortable with your decision....im happy with the band and im only 3 weeks in good luck -

I have always been a fat kid, i realized it in 3rd grade when i moved to a new school(that was the first time somone called me fat) I am the youngest of 4 kids and the only girl. My brothers eat like mosters and all of them are then..ince i was young i used to eat like them, I've always seemed to eat to finish not when full!! Grwoing up in a west indian home portions are no option big is the only way. Well when i was 10 i took a fall and slipped my hip. After the surgery hoping around on one leg, i ended up slipping the other one. So two operations then my parents divorced....I always had lots of friends, did good in school, I was even class President in high school. Im not sure if im hiding something within that makes me turn to food, but the band has helped me to control something...i feel so good when i walk away knowing my plate wasnt the only one empty, instead it looks just like my friends with plenty of food on the plate. I feel good drinking soup and not needing a grilled cheese or a peice of bread. yes i have cravings but im in control. So I guess its a control thing for me I dont eat to finish!! but to be satisfied!!!
