I've been off coffee (and caffeine in general) since about a week before my surgery. But now I'm going back to work. I start work at 430AM. I never really got a clear understanding of the role of coffee and other types of caffeine post-Sleeve. Any thoughts?

As for the phone app, you have to try My Fitness Pal, it's been a life saver. -
Calories post op?
menjaz replied to hopeful2loose2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was about the same at first, too. I was worried that I wasn't eating enough. Now I'm eating more, and am worried that I'm eating too much...go figure! -
Tired of sweet protein drinks!
menjaz replied to menjaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have tried that, and it does help, thanks. -

Best app with detailed nutritional breakdown?
menjaz replied to WhoKnows's topic in Food and Nutrition
I have found My Fitness Pal to be an invaluable tool. The phone app is a bit different from the Internet version. I found that I am able to personalize my needs more on the internet version. -
How do you feel about eating out after weight loss surgery?
menjaz replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Other: My sister and I go out a lot: We started sharing something like an omelet. She gets half plus the bread and potatoes. On Easter Sunday, my family went out. I shared with my grand daughter. I do hate wasting money on a whole meal. My eating out bills are much, much lower now. -
What is all the fuss about drinking water to lose weight?
menjaz replied to Wendydarling19's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
This is a great article. I've been having a terrible time getting my liquids in. The article gives great information. -
The first couple of weeks I was not hungry at all....I loved it! Now I do find that I am a lot hungrier. I think about food more. One day at a time.
-
My biggest fear is that I am going to stretch out my stomach. I don't want to go back to my old way of eating. I don't miss any specific food. I miss eating big meals.
-
I thought the hardest thing was going to be giving up coffee. Surprisingly, I don't miss it, so far. What I miss is having a big, satisfying meal. I'm still going through mental withdrawal.

I'm thinking that people will probably assume that I'm lying if I make something up. I guess people are going to talk about you no matter what. I'm working on NOT Caring what others say. -
Awakening / Fear of Being Seen
menjaz replied to HumanMerelyBeing's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OMG..I thought I was the only invisible over-weight (fat) person. When ever I walk around with my sister (and best friend), everyone makes eye contact with her and ignores me. It always makes me feel so ugly. Even worse...people always think I'm my sister's mother! She's only 4 years younger than me. This is one of my driving forces for my weight loss. I want people to think I'm the younger sister! -
Has any of the past sleevers not lost hair?
menjaz replied to Tammylb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been losing my hair. (Not my gray's though-they're doing fine!) -
Waking nightly between 2:30-4 am
menjaz replied to Bbmomma4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's so interesting! I've been waking up around 3 every morning too, feeling very hungry. A few times I got up and had some fruit, which helped. -
The same thing happened to me! I'm kind of glad...won't be tempted again, very soon!

I just cant do the protien shakes! Help!
menjaz replied to FAWife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Regarding the Isopure: All the ones I tasted had a weird after-taste: Except the Apple Melon. It is really good. Not as sweet as most. They are expensive, but if you don't like the thick shakes, I'd try it. -
I was wondering how profiles change from 'Newbie'.

Thanks!

menjaz replied to FAWife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have your tried the Isopure clear protein drinks? I really like the Apple Melon flavor. -
(Yes, I'm a newbie!) I am almost 8 weeks post op. I lost about 25lbs pre op, and am now down 57lbs. (Starting at 299.) I'm just curious about other newbies' early weight loss stories.

Hello, I'm new to this site. I am excited to have some online support. I'm 7 weeks out. About how many calories should I be eating daily?
-
I do fine all day, then in the evening, when I'm relaxing, I get the munchies. My solution (so far) is that I save a few calories for the end of the day. And have a heathy, pre-planned snack.

Does everyone have a drain after surgery?
menjaz replied to fatBgone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My drain was taken out the day after my surgery. Right before I was discharged.
