Pureed food ideas? Help!
menjaz replied to Mschwartz924's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure if this was a good idea, but I pureed half of a Lean Cuisine. It was so good! -
You'll be amazed at how soon you'll get more used to it. Within a week or so, I bet you'll be feeling much more optimistic. Hang in there!

Right now I am obsessed with baked salmon. I eat about 1 1/2 ounces once or twice a day.

I was just wondering if most Sleevers eat at scheduled intervals, or just when hungry. Any thoughts?

For the love of GOD why am I so hungry ?!
menjaz replied to puchy123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm curious to know how many calories and how much protein you're eating. -
I'll be going back to work next week, 8 weeks post-op. I've lost almost 60 lbs (25 pre op). I know my co-workers are going to be asking questions. It's none of their business. I'm not sure what to say to their inquiries. Any advice?

Your body is adjusting. You're still swollen. Keep the faith.

My nutritionist said that we should track our food for life. (I use My Fitness Pal) She says that tracking is essential to keeping the weight off long term. It does seem that it's easier to lose, than to maintain.

Am I experiencing dumping syndrome?
menjaz replied to Kezzer's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I thought I was having an episode of Dumping Syndrome about 2 weeks post op. I got so sick, I ended up going to the emergency room. I emailed my surgeon to tell him. He said there's no Dumping Syndrome with the sleeve. Could he be wrong? -
Welcome to the club!

I have a tattoo in that spot. I'd be really surprised if it gets distorted. But I do agree with your mom. You may feel completely different about it a few pounds down. Best of luck. (Also, I have many tattoos, and the one in that area really hurt!)

My job is in front of a computer, also. I took 8 weeks off. Even though you're job is sedentary, you still have to adjust to your new tummy and your new life. You won't be eating very much, and may feel weak. If you do go back right away, best of luck!

Back to work-Nosey co-workers
menjaz replied to menjaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, I went back to work today. Everyone told me how great I look. Everyone was really happy to see me and were very nice, at least to my face. Nice to my face is fine with me. When asked how I've been losing, I said eating lots of protein, which is true. (I'm so over worrying about what others think.--Good job, me!) -
I had symptoms that the Docs thought might be clots, so I went to the emergency room. They ran a few tests and all was fine. But I was really scared for a bit.

OMG! I can't wait to hear this! (I'm about 75lbs away from hearing that.)

What is/was your diet 2/3 weeks post-op?
menjaz replied to hmk715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What about Isopure and greek yogurt? -
I've always loved them, but haven't had in a while. My Doc told me to have protein and veggies only. Brussels sprouts are now on my grocery list!

Every time I eat or drink my stomach make crazy churning noises. I'm afraid to eat while I'm in front of others cause it's so loud.

75 days post op
menjaz replied to Sarah Waring2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Doc told me the more protein I consume, the more weight I'll loose. That inspired me to eat more protein, for sure. -
75 days post op
menjaz replied to Sarah Waring2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 57 days post op. Started at 299. Lost 25lbs preop. I've lost a total of 60lbs. -
Eat on a schedule or when hungry?
menjaz replied to menjaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's so true about not knowing when your hungry! Again, I thought I was the only one to feel this way. I've spent so many years eating and eating and eating that I really don't know what true hunger is. -
I am so tired of sweet protein drinks! Does anyone know of any protein shakes or drinks that have a savory flavor? Why are they all so sweet?
-
I used to have the Lap Band, and was unable to eat bread. It's been years since I've enjoyed bread. I haven't tried bread post-Sleeve. I think I'm gonna try soon.

menjaz replied to cari73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job going back after one week! (I'm at 8 weeks and dreading going back on Wednesday.)
