Well I did it!!! Friday is my official weigh recording day, and I got my 100# medallion back!!!! My High weight was 423 (long time ago) and today I was 321.6 so I have lost 100# before I have surgery!!! Which is on Monday. Not to shabby but getting a little flabby. I started the surgery Journey at 360# so I may make 40# loss by surgery date..Keep the prayers coming for me and my family.

My suregon requires you to use Optifast 800 meal replacement. I have to consume total of 8 per day (base on my BMI of >50). 1 can be a Soup, 2 can be bars for first 12 days. The rest of drink shakes. No real food at all. I would call you NUT, they are better to advise you. Oct 20 is my date TOO sweetcheeks!

I will be sleeved on Monday Oct 20th, My first Consult was April 18, That was a tight 6 months. Insur required 6 mth Doctor monitored diet. You may want to plan a little more because you could not miss an appointment or it through you off a month..

Make sure you have a good thermometer to check yourself when you go home. Get a fever call your doc.....

Well today starts my 14 day all liquid Optifast diet. I started this Journey over 10 years ago with my high weight being #423 over several years I was able to lose 175# with diet and exercise and kept it off until 2006. Then I had a heart attack at my lowest weight of 248#. That started the gain back and other health issue too. When I decided to go WLS my weight was 360 # about 6 months ago. My Surgical clearance was 333# so that is 27# loss over 6 month monitored weight program. Today I start the all liquid at 327# Just 4# away to get my 100# loss back. It will be interesting to see what my day of surgery weight will be. If you are the praying type like me, I would appreciate some now till surgery on October 20, 2014!!

That would be nice to add veg. That would not be allowed with my doc. Silly bars and ice is the only thing I can chew. I can do SF Jello but so far tummy to full of the other stuff.

That's funny, I like the choc the best. However, I can tolerate them all. Bars do not impress me but its something to chew. I miss the premier bars and drinks. Its just 14 days right we can do anything for a couple weeks. I have to do 8 items a day. That turns into something about every 2 hours I am awake. I had to set alarms to remind me. Not hungrey at all so far. I think I will be ready for change things up by the end.

Hi Bill: I have used several protien products on my journey so far. As far as taste, I like unjury, Premeir Protien, and Muscle Milk. You have to compare to your surgons requirements to see if these fit. These are low sugar high protien. I am currently haveing to use Optifast 800 for 14 days on my preopt liquid diet. it is not as good tasting as the other products for me but this is very subjective. It is ok. Nashawa website has many brands you can by single serving packetes to try before you buy in quantity.

You some good responces this time, only thing I can add, maybe cause you are so close you nerves are getting to you . Take nice long walk and enjoy the ride, you are almost home free!

I think you are lucky, the more busy we are the less we may concentrate on missing food! Try to think this is our final lap and we only have one more hurtle until we cross the surgery line...uh finish line. In a month this will just be a badge of honor that you survived and are stronger person for it.

Here is a couple ideas, blend ice into the drink and add some cold Water. It may be to think and high in protien. little more quanity but soomther going down. The other idea is to additional flavoring to them like Davinci Syrups sugar free version or just regular flavoring extract like coconut flavoring. PB2 works too or just a small amount of regualr PB, do not need much to flavor it. Hang in there our road about to get bummpy!

I would not worry too much, each Surgeon has their own requirements. I did do the EDG and it found the most that I was not aware of. I now know that I have a Hiatal Hurnia and I tested positive for H Pylori so now I am on some nasty Antibiotics (metal taste in mouth 14 days ugh) to clear that up before surgery on Oct 20. We are all getting close to our date!

Hopefully I will be coming home the same day you go in. My date is Oct. 20...
