That would be awesome, please invite as many as you can. That will make our group work well for all.. When we get closer, if you could share how many will attend, I can plan the right sized room. I am glade the location works for you..

I believe the first meeting will be at Whatcoat UMC 16 North Main Street, Camden DE. Depending on size of group will depend if I stay in fellowship hall or go upstairs to the adult class room. We hope to move it over next door to the Simpson Community Center (old sewing center building if you remember on corner), but not sure all renovations will be complete by January. I will try to post as its gets closer if I know for sure. This is going to be fun adventure! I hope you journey is going well. Please stay in touch if you have questions ask away.

Thanks so much for posting, I decided to hold the first meeting on January 15th, 2015 @ 5:30 pm this is on a Thursday. This group will be different then most already offered. They tend to be extensions of the surgery center. I want this to be personal guidance from other people who have had the surgery and can help with all your little questions that ones has pre and post surgery. So it will be an extension of what BP offers on line except we will be supporting on line and in person. The group will meet in Camden, DE just south of Dover. I hope this is not to far for you to travel. Please let me know if you can attend or have any questions. Thanks

Hey LAG, I am doing really well so far! 3 weeks post opp lost total of 60#, 20# since surgery. I am doing really good with the puree' food. However, I am on this phase for 4 weeks and that seems long but my Doc progress really slow. I have 10 more shots of Lovennox then I stop them. I hope I will stop being so cold after that. I hope things are well in your world! -

Hi Lag: Well they have me on a slower progression for diet, I still have another week of full liquids. Also, My NUT stated that they did not want us to consume more than 30 grams of protein in one sitting she stated that was all the body could really absorb at one time. The Protein drinks just keep me so full I can hardly drink my other liquids. I guess I need for my tummy to heal up a little more. My goal is 80 grams of protein a day too, i will get there eventually. Thanks for the Info and I am glad you are progressing so well. -
Wow, I lost the same 10# the first week, so that makes 50# since I started surgical Journey. I too am pleased with the loss so far and yes I know that most people loose a lot in the beginning but I am happy now!!

Lag, I am doing really well so far. Today is 7 Post-Opp down 10# for the first week plus the surgical fluid loss. I see my Doc on day 10 I am only getting 40 gram protein in and 32 Oz of liquid so need to try to step it up but I just seem full all of the time. I am getting my walks in no problems. -
Same happened to me except the threat work for me and I started to slowly void my bladder and it was not required!

Wow you are moving your diet fast. I am still on clear liquids. I go to full liquids starting tomorrow and stay there for two weeks. Then on pureed for another 4 weeks. I will have to work up slowly on my 80 gram protein goal. Best of luck and enjoy walking in circles.LOL reminds me of our pre-surgery Journey at times. I glad your surgery went well too!! -
Good morning team, I am back home. Last night was wonderful sleeping in my bed, I got very little sleep in Hospital. This is Post-op day 3 for me. My goal for today is to see if jello will stay down. my recover seem so easy compared to all I have researched. Docs, keep saying mine went like textbook perfect. My pain never got above a three and I only had pain pump for one day I used it maybe four times. No problem getting fluids their, just have to get quantity up after some swelling goes down. I guess my biggest complaint was a desert dry mouth. Have you ever had your lips stuck to your teeth? LOL! I not sure how I could have made it without the ice chips. I do feel sorry for the patient that their docs do not allow that in the beginning it was a lifesaver for me. If you are curious, I gained 3.6# from surgery. Man they pump the fluids in you.

My highest weight was 423# about 11 years ago, I was 360# 1st consult visit in April. I now am 320# so I lost 100# before surgery and 40# of that since I started the Surgical Journey. I will be sleeved on Monday October 20th. Only God knows were I will end up, but I am convinced I will be more healthy!
