    2days after surgery major hickups

UGH yah, I remember that! First week. It's a cruel joke. Pretty common.
  3. I totally feel for you!! BUT I think you need to go for it. Obesity has so many short and long term complications. Most the beauties you see in hollywood and in the magazines are wearing hair extensions or wigs. Seriously. Do everything you can to keep your hair but don't let it stop you from getting fit and healthy!! I have heard something to the effect the early days, first few months are essential to getting enough protein and vitamins and that once hair loss starts you can't prevent it (it does come back) BUT before you have hair loss you can make sure you are getting all your nutrients to prevent it. I am only 3 weeks out and not having any issues AND I am super attached to my hair so I am trying to be REALLY good about protein and vits. Good luck!!

    3.5 weeks post op...not losing

I thnk it is very normal. I am also 3.5 weeks out and haven't lost weight in over a week. I'm pretty sure I'm losing inches but I'm eating under 500 calories, having 70 grams of protein and exercising 2x a day - transformation must be happening !!
  6. Call doctors office and speak to nutritionist or surgery support person. Make sure you are doing everything "right" and also try to notice if you're losing inches. HANG IN THERE!! I know its scary/frustrating but you can and will make this work!!
  7. Exercise, moisturizing my skin so it will stretch back!! Cleaning out my office, closets, drawers. writing letters, gardening. Trying to work out what the heck to eat! Staying busy really helps me. Best of luck!!

    Starving!

For me that got better. I was really hungry for the first 2 weeks after surgery. Really had to focus on what was cravings and what was real hunger, I had both. I am 3 weeks out and mostly don't get hungry at all. Really try to hit your 64 ounces of Water or whatever your doctor told you. Once I achieve that I am so "over" eating =)

    Swimming after wls

My doctor allowed me to swim and have 9 days after surgery. It really irritated my incisions and they got really red and irritated. I am 3 weeks out and swimming but still watching incisions and being careful. It depends on your incisions as well. IF your doctor doesn't want you in the Water I wouldn't risk infection. You may want to call your surgeons office and see what they say about water proof bandages. That's my 2 cents.

    11/2 week stall already?

Same boat here after 2 weeks. BUT I am doing exactly what I should, eating 500 calories or less and exercising 2x a day. Am I skinny yet?

16 days out and back in the ICU

How scary. So glad your husband took action. How did the docs deal with the blood clot? Please keep is posted and let us know you're okay. Sending prayers and good thoughts your way! ????
  13. Gorgeous!! I am so happy for you!!
  14. Love this everyone! Its raw, and messy and real!! I am 3 weeks post-op and already noticing it. There are other things going on in my life as well that are forcing the change but we don't have to be BIG anymore to carry all this crap. Ours or others. I am retiring as a fixer/rescuer. It's incredible. Working hard on my inner transformation as well as my outer. I won't be as "nice" anymore but I will be kind, and honest and good. Walking on our journey!
  15. Helloooo hottie! Looking good!

YUP. Me too AND my sense of smell is intense!! Other people stink to me, I stink to me, my car smells - haha its weird. But yah I am 3 weeks out and the breath thing is annoying BUT my family/friends don't smell it, just me.

    I think I ruined it...

@@crazyweight tomorrow makes 3 weeks for me. First 2 weeks post up were really tough for me. I didn't "cheat" but I for sure had lots of cravings and what I think was actual hunger. This past week I have been doing pureed foods and I feel like my body is getting adjusted to this and I have had very few moments of wanting to eat. THIS IS A MIRACLE! Okay maybe just science but it feels wild as I always want to eat. I was actually really worried thinking that my hunger was not going to go away. One thing that has been helping me is really remembering that insane staple line that exists in our stomach. There are not many things I would put on a raw, healing wound so it makes me pause and be very gentle with myself, my stomach. I am starting to eat more foods but really chewing like you mentioned above and waiting and seeing how my tummy reacts. This has saved me as twice after one spoonful, and then waiting a few minutes I got a clear signal that my stomach was going throw a fit if I put anymore of "that" in it. Good luck. It's as much a mental game as anything so find support whatever way works for you.

    Just beginning - so confused.

So sorry you are going through that. Both of you losing your jobs is SO stressfully. . I really feel for you. AND I think we have to take the "no excuses" mindset. I had a couple major things go down and told my partner that I don't think this was a good time because.... His response was "babe, there is always going to be something going on. The nature of life. " and of course he's right and it turned out this was a great window to start. Maybe both of you having a little more free time in the early stage will be a hidden blessing. Please don't think in any way I'm under playing your job losses as I can imagine how unbelievably stressful that is. Sending you strength and prayers. Stay Strong

    Just beginning - so confused.

Hi @@losingsoon its much easier once you have the surgery BUT you have to get your head in the game now so that you can have it. I found going to support groups before (&after) was really helpful. Ask your surgeons office when/where they are. Being around people who have been through the struggle or are going through it can be really helpful. YOU CAN DO THIS!! It is life changing and you deserve it. For me I had to become very rigid pre-op and only eat very regimented food. Good luck!

How many days till you felt good?

Hi @@Comeflywithme I have had great days and not great days off and on since surgery. I am 2 1/2 weeks out Definitely having more really good days and think my not great days are cause I overdue it when I feel good (story of my life!!)

    Losing weight slow

I know how you feel @Volumptious. Every day I think how am I not thin yet, lol. It took a long while to get here and its going to be a process getting our fit bodies back. I won't lie, I step on the scale several times a day and it hasn't moved much this week BUT I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing and I trust this process. Keep your head in the game, drink your Water, Vitamins, Protein blah blah and exercise. Success is our only option... Yes I just quoted Eminem =)
