Selling Lane Bryant pants, size 20
AngryViking replied to swim4cyn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
HA! @@mcherder I was wondering the same thing. I'm 5'5" but I have short legs. -
Yeah, the skin on my face is super dry, especially around my mouth and my forehead.

I feel you. My pre-menstrual anger is out of control these last couple of months. I can only see it for what it is (was) after I start my period, though. My poor husband. LOL
-
I had some wine when my husband and I went out for our anniversary earlier this month, so I guess I was just under 8 weeks out. I didn't find that it affected me any differently than before, but I haven't had anything to drink since then.

Some unexpected NSVs have me LOLing in public. You?
AngryViking replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
I've noticed that it doesn't require as much effort to get up off the couch or from a chair. Last night I almost face planted getting up from the couch. I pushed myself up with the usual amount of force and had just too much momentum for my lesser body mass. Instead of ending up standing I just kept going and fell right over onto the ottoman. LMAO My husband laughed so hard I thought he was going to start crying. -
Calcium citrate - lemon cheesecake
AngryViking replied to boricuagirl956's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My favorite! I use that as my last calcium dose of the day; it's like dessert. -
the bakers thread
AngryViking replied to pookybear's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love to bake! I've been experimenting a little with Splenda in place of sugar and it seems to work pretty well. -
Hospital Survival Bag
AngryViking replied to Suddenly Siri's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stayed two nights and I think that was just right. I brought a change of clothes, slippers, some magazines, and lip balm. Well, I brought more than that, but that was all I ended up using. As for passing the time, I slept quite a bit the day after surgery. When I wasn't doing that, I walked the halls, watched TV or read my mags. I was out by 9 am the next morning. -

Foodie protein shakes
AngryViking replied to IronDruggist's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Oooh, the butterfinger Protein shake is delish! It's a scoop of chocolate Protein powder, 1 TB PB2, 1 TB of SF butterscotch pudding, 1 c. milk (I use soy) and some ice. The original recipe also calls for SF sweetener to taste, but I find it's not necessary. I had one for dinner last night! -

Eating is no longer fun
AngryViking replied to weightloss4liss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep. I've been feeling this since I started on solids. I don't get any kind of enjoyment out of eating. I mean, I can tell when I'm done but there's no feeling of satisfaction or "man, that was really good" that comes with a meal anymore. It makes me kind of sad. -
Strange question.... (menstruation w/ surgery)
AngryViking replied to snowkitten's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah, they absolutely don't care. In fact, you'll get some super cool mesh panties with a giant pad as your prize. -
How long after surgery until you got blood work done?
AngryViking replied to itsmekarenlee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hmmm...he had a whole panel of things checked off. I know there were a couple of B levels, Iron, CBC, zinc, folate...and about a dozen other things. haha -
How long after surgery until you got blood work done?
AngryViking replied to itsmekarenlee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just had mine drawn on Saturday for my first followup on 8/14. -
I had a roomie for one night; second night I was solo. We got on very well. We were in the bariatric wing so there were about 15 of us total. There was a lot of hall shuffling going on. haha

JULY 2014 Post Op Rny / Bypass Support Group
AngryViking replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Just checking in! I'm 3 weeks post-op today and I feel pretty good, all things considered. I'm still a little sore on my left side and I have incision right where the waistband hits on all my pants/skirts that won't seem to heal like the others. On the plus side, I'm down about 25 lbs and can feel the weight loss in my clothes and even see it in my face, so that's keeping me motiviated. However, I gotta say the learing curve with eating/drinking has been steep. I'm still working out that I'm not physically capable of eating as much as I think I can. Even if I make myself a plate that looks like something out of Oliver!, it still ends of being too much. A couple/three bites and I'm done. And you know what? That makes me kind of sad. I know I'm full because I can't and don't want to eat anymore, but I don't know if that sense of fullness also means that I'm "satisfied". Does that makes any sense? My meals typically end with a resigned sigh of "I guess that's it", rather than feeling good about the whole thing. Also I have to work really, really hard to get my water in. lol Well, enough of my waah waah waah. How're the rest of my July peeps doing? Do tell! -
I was very happy I took my slippers with me. haha Other than that, lip balm, change of undies and my Kindle were all I used. The hospital provided simethicone if I asked for it, but honestly it didn't do much. Walking and moving around were what helped with the gas pain.
-
My plan allowed for 1-2 small crackers at week three and you better believe I went for it, too. Triscuit thins. I dipped them in cottage cheese like chips. haha It was nice to have something crunchy/salty after nothing but liquid/sweet for weeks.

Mmmm...Diet Pepsi. I gotta tell you, I don't think I've even thought about it since my surgery. And this is coming from a girl who regularly drank a 2 liter bottle of the stuff every day.

JULY 2014 Post Op Rny / Bypass Support Group
AngryViking replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm all done! Surgery was yesterday and I super uncomfortable; that gas pain is no joke. But I am much better today; I've been walking the halls, and I took the best shower I've ever had. lol I'll likely be discharged tomorrow and then it's on with life! Best, Kristen -
This looks outstanding. It has all of my favorite things!

JULY 2014 Post Op Rny / Bypass Support Group
AngryViking replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My doc only requires a 3 day liquid diet prior to surgery; that begins on Monday. Soooo, the hubs and I are having a "bon voyage" kind of weekend. Saturday we're going to the Syracuse jazz fest to see BB King close it out...and of course sample the offerings from the gourmet food trucks and local craft beer stands. Sunday we're having brunch at my favorite fancy restaurant followed by Les Miz at the Cortland Rep. Theater. He surprised me with the tickets yesterday and I cried. I'm so on edge and anxious about everything right now my emotions are right at the surface. -
Sorry about that, Katie. That really stinks. However, typically the denial letter will outline exactly why the insurance is denying the procedure. Did the letter give you any guidance as to what more they're looking for? Hopefully your surgeon's office will assist you with the filing.
