  1. My surgery is scheduled for mid May and I cannot stop obsessing over whether or not my skin will be loose! I hate that I am so vain, but it is just plaguing me. I am almost 32 years old and I have pretty tight, bouncy skin currently, but have never had to lose this much weight before and I swear I'm like a dang sausage all packed in tight! Lol. I am wondering if it is true that the slower you lose the weight, the less likely you will have loose skin?? I am expecting some loose, of course, but I'd really like to try and avoid it as much as possible. Do any of you know if maybe eating higher calorie foods initially (after first 4 weeks post op) would help possibly slow down weight loss and increase my chances of having less loose skin? I will talk to my doctor, but I'd like to hear what folks have to say. Thanks!
  2. I have full support of eveyone important in my life but my momma does have some lingering concerns. I am scheduled for mid May, btw. She asked if I had spoken to or found anyone on the internets who is 5 + years out from sleeve surgery and I am having a terrible time finding people. Are any of you that far out? Do you know anyone that far out? What is life like? Are they healthy? How is their bloodwork? Iron? B12? What issues have you come across? I have lost over 80 pounds without surgery before and although I have been trying for years to do that again losing 30 ounds here and 15 there, I'm not sure if I am up to it. And I don't think it will be a longterm fix like a sleeve would be (yes, I know it will still be work). But if after 5 years out from surgery most ppl have gained back a lot of weight, maybe it's not worth it... maybe I should just try again and again to lose it naturally. I know it will always be a struggle to keep the weight off, but will it be less of one with the sleeve longterm?? Thanks so so much for any guidance.

Desperate: any ppl 5 years out?!

Thanks, all! I did find some "vet" forums, though it is clear (as some of you suggested) that most ppl do not need the forums after 2 or 3 years, so it is harder to find loads of info. I still do think it's the best option for me, but I need to be able to appease the mommy thanks again.

What's the skinny on the skin?

Thank you for the info on how to best avoid or minimize the loose skin and the encouragement.
