To Catheter or Not to Catheter?
Lacowgirl72 replied to Sutter Phoenix's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was stressing about being catheterized. Luckily my dr did not use one. I had to get up and pee a lot but honestly the gas pain in my back and shoulders was so bad I had to get up and move so having to use the bathroom didn't hurt me. -
I'm on week 2 of the C25k app. Never would of thought I would be running and liking it. I always said if you see me running you better too cause there is a bear chasing me! Lol. It's amazing what this journey has done for me.

Find a flavor drink powder that you like and add to water. Think the key is getting 75-100oz of water a day. Start there then limit carbs.

Just got back from vacation and can say its the best one I have ever had. We went to Williamsburg, VA and Washington D.C. I didn't have to worry about not keeping up when walking from place to place. Most the time I was the one least winded after hiking up the hill! I fit in all the rides at Busch Gardens (with room to spare). And Iost 1.5 lbs while on vacation and really didn't eat that great just didn't snack any and got my Water in. Got to say the sleeve is the best thing I have ever did for myself.

6 months is a long time to ask someone not to eat a single chip or cookie. Living a life of complete deprivation is going to just make some people miserable. An extra couple hundred calories in 6 months isn't going to significantly impact weight loss. But it is very important not to let it become a frequent habit. And that's just where you have to know yourself and whether or not you have the strength to not let one cookie turn into hundreds. I'm not trying to be the food nazi. I'm just saying that for most people carbs are a slippery slope and trying to limit them in the first 6 months helps take full advantage of your sleeve.

I think most of us that are at the year mark indulge some. I just want to express concern on people 1 - 6 months out of surgery already indulging on candy and chips. The sleeve is a tool and the weight loss will come off quicker at the beginning and the "honeymoon" phase should be used to its full advantage.

I keep carbs under 100g day, drink 100 ounces of water and 60-80g protein. I've lost 134 lbs in a year. I still avoid pasta and eat very little bread and rice.

I like the hipster panties at Walmart made by blissful benefits. They are the No muffin top ones!

I found my hip bones awhile back. Lol I catch myself feeling for them all the time now. Lol

To Sleeve or Not to Sleeve - that is the question...
Lacowgirl72 replied to Hetera's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I waited for a year and a half for my company to cover surgery. If I would have known how great I would feel after and the tremendous weight (literally) that has been lifted off my shoulders I would of paid for it out of pocket years ago. -
Any suggestions on where to find summer shirts that have a longer type short sleeve. My arms look horrible after all the weight loss. Don't want cap sleeves. Help!!
-
Better question has anyone NOT needed skin surgery! Think age and how many times you have lost and gained weight plays a part in how your skin rebounds. Mine is horrible but I will plan some surgery to fix some and just use clothes to hide the rest. Wouldn't be heavy again to save the saggy skin.

Clothes shopping
Lacowgirl72 replied to Lacowgirl72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Found a tshirt at old navy. Boyfriend cut. Has a longer sleeve. Bought it in 5 colors! Lol -
Has anyone else started experiencing dizziness when standing quickly? This has came on in the last month. If I'm sitting and jump up to go do something I will get about 4 steps and all of a sudden get so dizzy I will have to sit back down. I took my blood pressure the other night after this happened and it was 110/60.

Eating Boudin.....?
Lacowgirl72 replied to Joey Jackson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Louisiana girl here! Saved boudin until month 8 I was scared of the rice swelling. Glad I did wait! not for the swelling but because it's spicy and hard to eat and not drink with it. I suggest waiting awhile. -

What is your goal?
Lacowgirl72 replied to softballjunky20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My goal is to be in single digit pants. Not quite there yet. Can fit in a size 10 with little room but the 8's are to snug in the trunk to wear in public. So hopefully this last 10 lbs I need to lose to put me in a normal BMI range will fix it. -
SUGGESTIONS ON EATING OUT!
Lacowgirl72 replied to GEAUX SAINTS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat out a good bit for business lunches etc. I find that I don't like to pay for eating out unless I'm with someone who knows about my sleeve and we can share a plate! Lol I normally try to order the most Protein rich food choice. I don't eat many salads since lettuce is one of the few things that does not agree with my sleeve. I will if there is no other choices get a chicken ceasar salad and eat the chicken off of it. I will eat a few tortilla chips at a mexican place but avoid bread and Pasta. I always order Water to drink because it seems to freak waitresses out when you don't order a drink. Easier to order and let it sit. I also don't eat soup since I got on solid food since in my mind its like drinking with your meal. -
Worst "compliment" you have gotten since surgery

I ran into someone that I haven't seen in over a year. And she was like girl I didn't even recognize you not being fat! I was like really? All I can do to not be ugly. Yes I was fat, yes I've lost 115 lbs. get over it! Lol. -
Ok anyone have a brand of bra that lifts and doesn't make your boobs sit on the side of your body. I'm having a hard time. I have lost a lot of weight but still have lots of boobs. It's real hard to find a 34DDD bra!!

Amazing what a difference 9 months makes.
