I am still a very new lap band baby. I was just banded on 5-12 and I am already making big mistakes and needed a mentor to help me understand things. I am not looking for approval to do what ever I want. I made that mistake by eating real food when I am supposed to be on mushy. I have no concept of time. really I do. I need someone to say to me STOP THAT! Do it this way, I am scared I messed my band up because I had real food at this stage. I don't want to have another surgery, I fell like a looser right out of the gate. since my first follow up appointment with the doctor that was the Friday after my surgery. I have not lost one pound, Anyone want to try to help me? Did I hurt the band, I am appalled at my behavior. absolutely disgusted. Anne Marie Elias

I lost 10 pounds in 12 days. I was shocked!

Thanks y'all :-) I didn't realize this time was healing and not to really worry about weight loss. I thought I had to drop a bunch of weight the first few weeks or the doctor would be very upset at me. I was really upset because I had my colon removed in 2012. So things usually just really go through me really fast. I usually have to go 3-9 times a day (No bag they hooked the end of my small intestine to the rectum) and I was worried because I didn't go for a day. But all is running (Pun Intended) really well. LOL I still would like friends who can give me the ins and outs of this journey - words of wisdom and guidance pople I can come to with questions. :-) Hugs AM

I was wondering if anyone else had a change in the way food tastes and smells since they have gotten their band or am I the only one and need to be checked by my primary care. Thanks Anne Marie Elias

Oh good, I thought I was the only one who had taste changes in some food. Some I loved, when I smell them I want to barf.

My doctor had me sign a paper before surgery that stated after my 90 day bubble, fills will be $500 each visit. They told me several times that would be the cost. I am hoping I reach the Green Zone before my bubble is up.

I lost a total of 20 pounds between the 2 week bariatric shakes (lost 10pounds) and my first follow up with my surgeon (another 10) he was so excited. Now I gained 3 pounds back and I can't figure out how. I really want to make some friends here who can poke me with a sharp stick every once in a while! I am a 49 yr old female who doesn't look like i weight as much as I do. I have a weird sense of humor and love to laugh! I need zome guidance on the eating portion s lol and encouragement for exercise. Talk to y'all soon! Anne Marie

Wow! There may be something to that story after all! Lol thank you for sharing that. I will ask my mom more questions. My Aunt Fran was working on the family tree but when she passed away I am not sure who ended up with all the research. Now I really want to know!

Thats funny cause a family story is jack daniels got his water originally from our great great uncle LOL How true that story is I have no idea. But it is a family story. lol
