I'm in Levittown and will go to my first info meeting at Abington on May 8th. So I am hopeful that I will end up there.

    Any Pa sleevers?

Hi PA Sleevers! I hope to join your ranks. I am in the Levittown area of Bucks County. I have run I to a bump in the road and would welcome any suggestions. I was approved by insurance last week for vsg at Barix Clinc (10 min from home) I had my psyc eval, cardio eval, barium swallow, ugi, and pulmonolgist clearance. Great right? I called on Monday hoping to set a date. Instead the Dr told me he needed a better written eval from Pulmo. He said he would just call himself which I thought was great. And then...he calls back and says I'm too risky and to oh to a real hospital! Ack, few days of moping, then started calling hospitals. I tried Penn and Einstein both have six month weight programs. I don't want to wait more. I'm going to the Abington open house on May 3. Here's hoping no six months. (My insurance does not require it bcbs Illinois). Any one know about Abington? Good Surgeons? Wait time for dieting? Sorry for the book I've written here lol
  3. Aunt GG, did you have your surgery yet? I am also going to Barix in Langhorne. I don't have a surgery date yet but i am approved by insurance as of Friday. I have Dr kazmarick (spelling?)
  4. I suspect a great number of successful post oppers on this board come here because they are like minded in following dr orders and have had success in that method. This board seems to help keep everyone in order. I also see many ppl struggling and asking for help. That's where these experienced losers come in. As a great loser yourself I think sharing your stories would also help. Not everyone needs to be strick and you would probably be a help to others who are not going to follow the program to a T. Different strokes for different folks. Everyone benefits from ppl who have been there!
  5. Thank you Jenelle for posting your experience. I don't even have a surgery date but read through all of these threads. It helps to see a continuous post op. I know everyone will have a different experience but atleast it gives us an idea. Thanks!
