Is tylenol 3 enough after surgery?

Definately talk with your surgeon about your concern. Everyone has a different pain tolerance. I was given a script for Percocet. I took 1 tab 1 time and that was because I wanted to get a good nights sleep, not because I was in pain. I think most people find what pain there is post op pretty tolerable. I think the gas pain was much worse for me then anything else.
  2. Hey everyone! I haven't posted in awhile to say hello but I read this thread often. I am still hoping on moving to back home to Colorado next month or in early June. Things have been so crazy... my hubby got in an accident in work and that has kind of put a damper on interviewing for other jobs in Colorado. My family has had all of these issues in Colorado for which I have been stuck in Virginia for and it is so hard. I feel so helpless. My dad and stepmom lost there house in a fire a week and a half ago. My mom has been in the hospital for a week... was on a respirator for 4 days but is doing much better now, thank goodness. I want to be there so bad but if I spend the money to come home to visit now, we wont have enough left to move home! Anyways... I know that is just a long old rant from someone you guys dont even know! I'm sorry. But I have to say... the support that you all give each other is so amazing to me. I cant wait to get home and hopefully meet some of you! You all are such an inspiration. I have not yet called Dr. Kirshenbaum to see if he will accept me as a patient when I get there... but I really hope that he will! I sure have enjoyed all the pictures you have posted of him... WOW! He seems to have such a genuine smile! Anyways... thanks again for your displays of what supporting each other is all about! You guys are fantastic!!! Renee

    I like the new look!

Why on earth do I STILL have boob holding apple lady? I think I am the only one! Can anyone help me get BooBooKitty?!?!?!?
  4. I experience some discomfort right under my left shoulder blade from time to time. I only started noticing this once I had some restriction though. Not sure of the cause but I'm assuming that maybe it's because I ate too much or didn't chew quite well enough. It does pass within an hour or so.
  5. I gotta get my rear end in gear! Don't know what is goin on with me lately but I just am not getting to the gym as often. As of right now I am at 360 minutes. I am determined to make the goal though!

Hey Renee! Just wanted to say good luck at your appointment. This is such and exciting time for you I'm sure. Lapband talk has become my new addiction (instead of food I come here!). I hope everything goes well for you and you are able to get your band soon! BTW... I'm another Renee!

    Breakfast ideas please

mmmm greek yogurt (has lots of protein) with fruit and a bit of granola is my favorite breakfast. I agree with IndioGirl also... you dont have to eat breakfast foods for breakfast. Try leftovers from dinner... chicken and veggies in an omelet is yum!

    Abnormal EKG ???

I had an abnormal EKG too... try not to worry. I totally freaked out and got so upset which helped nothing. Anyways, I went to the cardiologist who did a repeat EKG and it was normal. You surgeon just needs to be sure it is safe to put you under anesthesia. Good luck!

    Biggest Loser

Did weight losses of 12 pounds and more on week 15 seem at all unrealistic to anyone else? This is my favorite show on television. Literally the only 2 hours I watch consistently all week long. BUT, I cant help but think that last night's weigh in was fixed. I am voting to keep Roger. He probably has a better chance of winning then Mark, but isn't that what the "biggest" looser is all about? Besides, Marks constant crying makes me crazy. LOL I would much rather see one of the ladies win, but I dont know how in the heck that will happen. I love Alli to pieces, but she is SO tiny already. How much more can she possibly lose? Kelly might stand a chance. Whoever wins will certainly deserve it. What amazing transformations! I wish I could sign up for that show with my DH! That would be so great to be able to work out as many hours a day as you want and have soemone to cook for you for a few months.

jtag - big difference! You look beautiful. Isn't it funny how we get a neck when we lose weight? Actually it is that 2nd chin going away, but still! hahah

    Just getting started in Richmond

Congrats and good luck! Dr. Schroder seems really nice. He did my band fill the other day. I think you are in great hands! Keep us posted.
  14. mamato3

how many fills so far ????

I've had 2 fills so far. 1st fill was 7 weeks out from surgery and 3.8 cc's. 2nd fill was 11 weeks out and was 3 cc's. I have a total of 6.8 cc's in a 9 cc Realize band. My restriction seems pretty good since I am eating small amounts (usually about 1/2 cup) and I am staying satisfied for 3 or more hours. No PB's or sliming yet. My biggest issue is snacking between meals cause I want to, not because I'm hungry. I've lost over 40 pounds though, so I guess occasional snacks aren't damaging me too bad!
  15. Well, I just barely made it. I was able to make it down to the gym tonight and get in a 45 minute workout. I was so unmotivated today I had to force myself to go. But there was just no way I was going to fall under the 600 minutes! Thanks for doing the challenge you guys! How did every one else do????
  16. I'm up for more minutes... gotta keep it challenging!

Thanks you all! Ang, you are looking great too. I really enjoying seeing pictures of people and their success. It is so inspiring! I need constant reminders that this is doable!
  18. Thankyou all for your info on Dr. Kirshenbaum. I am definately going to give his office a call soon. I can't wait to get back to Colorado! The Red Robin where you all meet is just right up the street from where I am going to be living. I would love to join you all once I am there. Maybe in June! You all seem so fun and like a great support team. Just what I need!

    Colorado Anyone

Thankyou all so much for the responses. I feel so much more confident that I will be able to continue to recieve care from a qualified doctor. I will start making calls soon and hopefully have something set up by the time I move. I also have an appointment coming up with my surgeon and I will talk with him to see if he might be able to make a recommendation. Just 7 more weeks until I am home!!!

    UPDATE Jan 08 Bandsters

Congrats FLMan! I seem to be losing in the same pattern. I will lose nothing for a week or more and then the scale drops 3 to 5 pounds over night. It is so odd. I have learned not to get upset when I dont see it moving and just keep doing what I'm supposed to do.

    Non-Scale Victories!!

jtag - Sorry that your date was a no show! His loss! I bet you did look great and it was his loss! Good job keeping your attitude positive and getting in that walk!
  23. 600 minutes was harder to do then I thought it would be too! I was cruising right along and then my baby girl got sick! I really need to get an exercise video for home or something because I don't seem to be creative enough to exercise on my own. I'm addicted to going to the gym! For the first time in my life I have actually been enjoying exercise!
  24. I am probably so out of place here, but I wanted to say hello and ask a question. You all seem like such a wonderful group of people all supporting each other. I only read back about 10 posts and WOW.. it's like you all have known each other forever! So, here is my question. Do you know if Dr. Kirshenbaum will accept a patient that was banded in a different state? My surgery was on 1/7/08 in Richmond, Virginia. We just decided that we are going to be moving to Colorado in May. Colorado is actually my home... I lived there for my whole life until 2 years ago. I am SO excited to be coming back! However, I am really worried that I will not be able to find a Doctor who will take over my care and do the necessary fills in order for me to continue with my weight loss. I will probably start calling around to different doctors in the next week or so to see if I can find anyone, but I was just thinking about it right now and thought I would ask. Do you all actually get together in person or do you just support each other here online?

    Colorado Anyone

Hello Colorado Bandsters! I am going to be moving to Colorado (Denver area) this May. Colorado is really home to me as I have lived there most of my life but have spent the last 2 years in Virginia. I am SO excited to be coming home! I am also very concerned that I am going to have a difficult time finding a Doctor who will take over my care once I have moved. Things are going so well for me so far with this band and I want to keep going in the right direction. I have read that it is difficult to find a doctor who will take over the care of a patient who was banded by a different doctor. Does anyone know of any Colorado Doctors who might be willing?
