New York/New Jersey Sleevers

Hey Trudy. I hope you had a great weekend as well. My name is India. Let me know how you like the Protein with the 30 grams. I am always looking to eat more protein especially since that helps with building muscles.I am glad you did well at the party. I went to visit my family this weekend and they grilled out and had junk there. I had some fruit and tried to eat a few bites of a burger. My stomach was not having that. I will just have to stick to bringing my own foods to events for now. It is definitely worth it! I heard that there will be pain around the biggest incision as well. If you'd like to try the Protein shakes you can text me and I will send you the samples. I don't want them to go to waste. 404-956-7280. I have already mailed out Vitamins to ppl on here. I would rather give them away then throw them away.. -

Girl I got the heels ready honey!!! lol....My username is wablue30 on MyFitnessPal. Lets link up. I set my calorie intake to 500/day on there and I eat accordingly. You know, I used to love Protein drink b4 surgery but now that has changed. The only protein that I can drink right now is Syntrax Matrix powder in Peanut Butter flavor. It taste just like peanut butter Cookies. This stuff is the best to my taste buds. Even my sister came over and made peanut butter cookies with the protein...smh... The link is below if you want to try them. Post surgery I ordered tons of protein samples from unjury, Chike, and a few others. Let me know the ones you like and if I have them you can have them or they will go to waste. http://www.vitacost.com/syntrax-matrix-2-0-peanut-butter-cookie-2-lbs -

Your boss is wonderful! I was at my desk at work looking like Garfield the cat because I was so sleepy! lol Yes, grocery shopping is boring now..I need ideas as well so I will try that pastina. Thanks! I had to travel last week for work and took protein drinks with me and ate grilled chicken and broccoli from Carrabbas. I was able to eat off that one meal about 3-4 times. But try Pinterest for ideas. Yes, tv, Instagram, everything is hard to look at with all the foods but im determine to be successfully. Next summer imma in my heels getting it girl! All over the place!! When I come across recipes I will let you know because I am getting bored with the things im eating...not sure if you use MyFitnessPal, but you can track everything you eat and it will tell you how much protein, calories, etc you have ate for the day. -

That is awesome you get to take that much time! I definitely needed a month because I was exhausted at work!!! Its weird, all doctors are different because I am already eating full foods. I was eating scrambled eggs and cottage cheese my second week. I can eat tuna, chicken, ground turkey, salads, etc now. I try to keep it simple though. Once you start eating full foods and need ideas, you have to try Tonninos Tuna fillets (if you like tuna). 2 oz contain 32 grams of Protein which is half your protein for the day. You can order online if its not available in NY. I am down total 28 pounds total and I am very excited. My doctor gave me clearance to start working out/lifting weights two weeks ago so the gym is really helping. Gotta stay on top of these arms and thighs! This is one of the best decisions I have made for myself and I realize for me most of the work is training your brain to relax because I still think about certain foods but I don't have that struggle to go purchase/eat them anymore. Just think, next year around this time that weight will be gone girl!! -

Stop over thinking it. You won't know unless you try. You have made it this far, everything will be ok. Everyones journey will be different. I had alot of anxiety about everything for nothing also. I had the sleeve on 7/17/2014 and the weight is coming off. It will do the same for you, just listen to the doctors orders. The most work (to me) is re-training your brain. Your brain still wants you to eat like before so be patient. Again, don't stress. Good luck! -

Hey Truberry. Congrats on your sleeve. I was sleeved 7/17 also! I returned to work a week later. How are you handling everything with your sleeve?I know you are looking for people in the area, but I live in Atlanta and I am coming to NY to visit hopefully in September to treat myself. I would love to join your meetup if possible. -

hello! My advice would be to swim and resistance training...walk as much as you can as well. My office didn't give much direction either except to "just do cardio" but I want to tone my body while losing weight. That is why resistance training/swimming is a good idea. Just make sure you have clearance from your surgeon before you do those things which im sure you do since you were sleeved months ago....

LOL @ HANGRY!! I was having bad stomach hunger and a feeling of acid in my stomach which made it worse. It went away after a few days. I guess everyone is different but when you start eating pureed/solid foods its wont be so bad...remember your brain really does have to catch up with your stomach. I was sleeved on 6/17 and my brain is still greedy and HANGRY (LOL) but my stomach doesn't want anything bad to eat...just give it some time. Everyday it'll get better....

Hey pretty girl! I was sleeved on 6/17/2014 so we are still in the same rookie boat..lol. I lost a lot of weight my first week because of the liquids also. The weight loss is going to do some crazy things so try not to stress. Some days I haven't lost anything. I was like "hold up!!". It is going to take time for your body to adjust. Remember, the sleeve is a tool. You still have to eat right and slowly reintroduce exercise to your new body once you are able. Have you gone to your post op visit yet? Make sure you take all questions and concerns to your doctors.... -
Hello! I really like Bariatric Advantage chewable vitamins. See if they can send you a sample. I have raspberry/lemon for the calcium and they kind of taste like Starburst...
