I'm concerned it won't work...
wablue31 replied to Danny'sGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stop over thinking it. You won't know unless you try. You have made it this far, everything will be ok. Everyones journey will be different. I had alot of anxiety about everything for nothing also. I had the sleeve on 7/17/2014 and the weight is coming off. It will do the same for you, just listen to the doctors orders. The most work (to me) is re-training your brain. Your brain still wants you to eat like before so be patient. Again, don't stress. Good luck! -
New York/New Jersey Sleevers
wablue31 replied to truberry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Truberry. Congrats on your sleeve. I was sleeved 7/17 also! I returned to work a week later. How are you handling everything with your sleeve?I know you are looking for people in the area, but I live in Atlanta and I am coming to NY to visit hopefully in September to treat myself. I would love to join your meetup if possible. -
hello! My advice would be to swim and resistance training...walk as much as you can as well. My office didn't give much direction either except to "just do cardio" but I want to tone my body while losing weight. That is why resistance training/swimming is a good idea. Just make sure you have clearance from your surgeon before you do those things which im sure you do since you were sleeved months ago....

LOL @ HANGRY!! I was having bad stomach hunger and a feeling of acid in my stomach which made it worse. It went away after a few days. I guess everyone is different but when you start eating pureed/solid foods its wont be so bad...remember your brain really does have to catch up with your stomach. I was sleeved on 6/17 and my brain is still greedy and HANGRY (LOL) but my stomach doesn't want anything bad to eat...just give it some time. Everyday it'll get better....

Almost two weeks post op. Need help/mentor/buddy!
wablue31 replied to km1990's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey pretty girl! I was sleeved on 6/17/2014 so we are still in the same rookie boat..lol. I lost a lot of weight my first week because of the liquids also. The weight loss is going to do some crazy things so try not to stress. Some days I haven't lost anything. I was like "hold up!!". It is going to take time for your body to adjust. Remember, the sleeve is a tool. You still have to eat right and slowly reintroduce exercise to your new body once you are able. Have you gone to your post op visit yet? Make sure you take all questions and concerns to your doctors.... -
Hello! I really like Bariatric Advantage chewable vitamins. See if they can send you a sample. I have raspberry/lemon for the calcium and they kind of taste like Starburst...

Celebrate Vitamin chews...you can have them.....
wablue31 replied to wablue31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, they are horrible. I stare at them for a while before I eat them...Its like eating brussel sprouts as a kid..lol...I take the B-12 pills and I dont have a problem with those. I just ordered Bariatric Advantage chewables in lemon/raspberry. I should have just ordered those to begin with! Please send me info on the Nascobal. The less that I have to take the better! If you have any probiotic suggestions please share as well. I need a good one. Thanks! -

Left thigh numb after sleeve
wablue31 replied to mnkj719416's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good morning. I had surgery 6/17 and a few days later my right upper thigh woke me up one night and it felt like a bee sting when I touched it. Now its just tingling. I immediately went to my doctor and they said its a compressed nerve. It more than likely happened during surgery. Every day it is getting better but I keep waking up at night because it is annoying! I also lay on my back and it happens. Go to your physician and ask them for medicine for your thigh. Its not going to go away over night so just be prepared. Don't stress and call your doctor. Since you are post op, you need to call your physician/surgeon for anything that is not normal.... -

Congrats! Praying for a speedy recovery for you! Welcome to the team!! -
I know everyone's body is going to respond different with this whole process but I want to know from the people that didn't have a lot of sagging after working out, what did you do when you exercised? What was your routine. My bariatric coordinator told me to ONLY do cardio (i'm a week post op) and in the months to come still do cardio, but I feel like I am about to set myself up for a lot of sagging if I just do strictly cardio. In my mind, I need to do a little but of cardio now and then when I am able to do more in the gym I need to do resistance training, circuit training, swimming, etc. What are your thoughts on doing just cardio after WLS? P.S. Hope my post makes sense.

Four days post op....not what I expected
wablue31 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone! I really expected to be in unbearable pain! My pain stopped as soon as I left the hospital. Only aggravation that I have is the gas in my back moving around and when I swallow but that is getting better (im burping a lot now). I am not really hungry and the unjury chicken Soup is delicious! I am just realizing that stressing does not help. This is going to work out for all of us out here guys so keep your head up!! Who else had surgery this week and what are your thoughts on it? -

My doctor is only making me do pre-op liquids the day before my surgery. I am going to do liquids on my own a few days before just to make sure ive lost a few extra pounds. My surgery is 6/17/2014. Anyone else have to do pre-op for only one day? -

Yahhh congrats on your surgery date!! How long did it take for approval?Wow I wonder if my doctor is doing the single incision also...that would be once less worry about itching from incisions healing!I purchased Chike and unjury Protein for my first week to see if I like the protein...whats the name of the meal replacement that you tried? -
Hi there! I'm originally from Alabama! ATL is like my second home. Reach out when you move this way! I sure will sis! Good luck on your surgery!!

Only doing pre-op the day before surgery
wablue31 replied to wablue31's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would like to know why everyone has different pre-op also but my coordinator said my surgeon doesn't want people to have to do such a long fast and go without eating considering we wouldn't be eating much after the surgery. I am going to get clarity when I go to my pre-op. I will let you know... -
