Anyone struggle with starting puree?
nisie53 replied to YummyMummy101's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
They told me to get chewable vitamins and dissolvable (under the tongue) B12. -
Was everyone put on liquids only prior to surgery for 2 wks? What was the pre surg diet? Also, I am seeing conflicting info on how and if one can swallow meds after surgery. Thanks, in advance!

Also, anyone else being told they will never be able to swallow pills, again. Medicines must be crushed and mixed into food- yet other hospitals say no crushing.?? -

That sounds like my first two week diet. But I have scrambled eggs (with cheese melted if wanted,) too. Creamy soups, mashed potatoes, etc - actual they said if you can mush it up to mash potato consistency, you can have it; ie peas, etc. Mine doesn't call for all liquids. -

. My understanding is meat is one of the last things to add. If you google diets or instructions post op for sleeve, there is a ton of info. Good luck. My surgery is in a couple weeks and my surgeons office gave me diet info. I don't have to go all liquid even in the first two weeks. (Nothing beyond consistency of mashed potatoes) but limited items. I think any change is gonna hurt a bit; but I was told to have Prilosec or the generic equivalent called in by doctor on hand.
