Hi  I hope you don't mind me making a post all about you, but I have found you to be inspirational as well as informative and really enjoy reading your posts. I was wondering if there is somewhere that we can read your banding story and see before and after photos.

Nymphs - How many fills have you had?
hungryforchange replied to -acl-'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have had no fills. I guess I am a lucky one who has had restriction right from the beginning. Once I started on solids, my hunger was GONE. The only time that I feel hungry is when I stay up really late at night and I have gone 7 or 8 hours since eating dinner. Other than that, I have zero hunger. I have not swayed from plan once...yet (I'm sure the day will come). I have never tried to eat more than we should, and I'm not sure if I could...I just don't want to try it. I measure and weigh all of my food and I only eat what is on my plate and I feel perfectly and wonderfully satisfied. Of course I wait an hour to drink after I have eaten and often when I start to drink, I can feel it pooling a bit in the upper portion of my stomach where my food is still sitting. This is another way that I know I have restriction. I have not pb'd, no vomiting, no sliming...basically nothing but success so far. For me, this is all like a miracle. To go from ravenously hungry ALL THE TIME, to no hunger is absolutely incredible. I don't plan to have a fill until I need it. There are so many risks to keeping the band too tight that I feel absolutely fortunate to not need a fill at this time. -
Gained a bunch of weight back
hungryforchange replied to yostefee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with the above poster. Once you have a bodybugg, you know EXACTLY what you have to do to lose the weight. It removes the questioning and after that, all you have to do is follow through. Seeing exactly how much you are burning and eating is a powerful, powerful tool. Couple that with the lapband to kill the hunger and it's a winning combination. -

I just thought that I would post that I got my bodybugg today from 24 hour fitness for $219. You have to go to the actual gym, not online. :tt1:

Nymph's Valentine's Day Challege Week 3 (2/24/08)
hungryforchange replied to hollyberries's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
After losing zero last week, I had a GREAT week this week! I lost 5.5 pounds, obviously something was going on last week and it finally let it all go this week. It just goes to show that you can't get depressed when the scale doesn't move even though you are doing everything right. Eventually, it will!! What are you eating Nymph's?
hungryforchange replied to hollyberries's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Breakfast = Kashi Oatmeal (going to look into the weight control oatmeal you are all talking about). I like this because it's a nice large size and keeps me full 1 brown n serve lite sausage link lunch - 3 ounces of tuna mixed with one teaspoon of lite miracle whip on melba toast covered with one slice of no fat cheese toasted in the toaster oven. 1/2 cup cottage cheese Snack - Kashi crunch bar dinner - 3.5 ounces of salmon, 1/2 cup green Beans Snack - 90 calorie pudding 64 ounces of Water always This comes out to right around 1000 calories for the day. -

Oregon/Washington Doctors with a reasonable price?
hungryforchange replied to sweetrepose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm in Portland and was just banded by Dr. Tersigni in November. I really liked him and his staff and so far I think he did a great job. Everything went very very well for me and I have had no problems. I have not had my first fill yet because I have had restriction without one. That being said, I don't enjoy the thought of having to take an entire day out everytime I need a fill. He gives 3 fills with the price and after that, I will probably start going to Dr. Kelly here for my fills so that I won't have to drive so far. Driving down for surgery wasn't bad. We rented a hotel and spent two nights (the night before and the night after). I thought the drive home would be horrible but it wasn't. Good luck with whatever you decide! -

Logging Food and Activity?
hungryforchange replied to Kristin1031's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I weigh and measure all of my food and track it all with a software program at dietpower.com. You log your food and can see the breakdowns, etc. The difference with this program is that over time it learns your metabolism. You enter your goal weight and a goal date and it will tell you how many calories to eat each day to reach your goal and it will adjust itself each day based on your own personal metabolism. It takes a week or so for it to get on track and it takes 30 days for the projected weight to get in track, but if you log all of your food and your weight, it seems very accurate. As long as you follow the calorie amounts given, you will reach your goal!! I sound like an infomercial but I really do love this program. (I used to use fitday). It also gives you a place to keep track of your exercise and will consider that when it figures your metabolic rate, etc. The first week or so you have to enter a lot of new foods into the database but I've found that the longer you use it, the less time it takes to update it. I spend less than 5 minutes daily updating what I eat. -

Who's benig banded on 11/20???
hungryforchange replied to Firebolt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Firebolt, I just wanted to say that you might be my body twin. We're about the same age. We were within 4 pounds of each other with our starting weight and we're both sitting at about the same current weight with about the same amount to lose and we were banded within one week of each other. Hiya! -
Who's benig banded on 11/20???
hungryforchange replied to Firebolt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The one thing that I would have done for sure is to quit all caffeine before surgery. My doctor did not require a pre op diet and I kept on drinking my diet snapples. Well, the night after surgery I had the worst migraine EVER because of caffeine withdrawl. The migraine was so severe that I was dizzy and I even vomited. I feel that this was directly related to the caffeine withdrawl because as soon as I had the ok from my doctor to take something for the migraine the next morning, all symptoms went away and I was fine. -
I definitely noticed. It's awesome!

I love the elliptical. I used to go to the gym to work out on one but I'm going to purchase one sometime this week so that I can work out every day. I just can't make myself drive to the gym every day. It kills an hour and a half for 45 minutes of exercise. I'll use my home elliptical for my daily cardio and use the gym to go for the weight machines and the sauna. I signed up for a 1000 minutes of exercise in January challenge on OH so that should be fun and hopefully motivating.

What foods keep you full longest?
hungryforchange replied to mandi78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Did you eat the prime rib first? Cut small pieces and chew chew chew? How long did it take you to finish all of that on your plate? Did you avoid drinking with your meal? If you do all of those things and you are still feeling like you are not full then you probably do not have restriction yet (most don't at your stage) and will need to rely on your will power to make it through to your first fill. -
