Hellloooo, September friends! I'm doing well. I was 333 pre surgery, 312 on surgery day, and am now 277. I've had some stalls but I just jump my calories up to around 900 and it seems to break them. Most of the time I'm at about 750 cals a day. My weight comes off in weird ways. I lose nothing for a week and then drop 5 pounds at a time. It's been like this consistently. Anyone else notice this? It's strange. I'm feeling so, SO much better than I did the first month after surgery. I have been walking, but haven't gone to the gym yet - waiting for my 8 week appt for clearance. Things I cannot tolerate: chicken (sometimes), dairy (sometimes) and eggs (sometimes). It's not consistent, and I really think it's the way I eat - I just need to slow down. I haven't tried any sugary foods or processed carbs, so have no idea if I handle them well. I'm scared to try them! It's so nice hearing all your stories.

Please tell me this stall will pass ( I know it will, but I need some good vibes!)

So UGH. I'm 3 weeks post-surgery and have been the same weight for the past 10 days. I know this is normal. I totally get that. However, I'm starting to have some wavering faith. Any advice to keep it all positive would be so greatly appreciated! Thank you!! -
Day 2 was my worst day, but the whole first week was kind of ugly. I know it's the last thing you want to do, but walk. Even just around your living room. It will help wake up your system and get your kidneys active so they can help release that retained Fluid. Drink and walk and breathe deeply, just like everyone has said - and be patient (if you can, I was and am horrible at this). It will get better! I'm on Week 3 and feel really good.

Thanks everyone! I had my husband put the scale in our scary garage so I won't be tempted to grab it, and I'm just going to chill out and not weigh for awhile. Hopefully that will help, along with mixing up the routine! I appreciate the advice and support! -
Going back to work AND starting pureed foods - tips?
MissAriadne posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello! I am nearly 2 weeks post op. I'm going back to work on Monday and am scheduled to start purees and soft foods that day and I don't know why, but I'm NERVOUS. I've gotten through the liquids just fine (although I want some real food SO MUCH) - but any tips for going back to work and purees? Anything that tends to set well? I've read the suggestions on this board and on Eggface's blog and have hummus, eggs, chicken thighs, refried Beans, etc ready to go. I think I'm nervous about dumping or getting sick at work, in public. Arghhhhh. Thanks so much for any advice! -
Hi @@InspirationMySon! The ten days have flown by. Day 2 was hard, but I really think I just wasn't hitting the pain pump as much as I should have. I stayed in the hospital two days, which is standard for my surgeon. The operation went really well - no complications, just pretty easy, and the nurses were amazzzzzzzing! I did NOT like the drain, but it was out on Day 3 so no big deal. I'm doing well getting in the protein and the liquid - I just make sure pretty much everything I put in my face has protein in it. I've been pretty consistent about getting enough protein but the water has been a bit more of a challenge until the past few days. I felt really dizzy on Monday when I got up, which my doc attributed to walking too much the day before and not having enough electrolytes so I drank some G2 and felt much better. I think I personally get tired because I've always, always been that way when I'm healing from anything! My body just says, Nope. You are sleeping and healing now. It's not terrible, I just need to take a short nap each day. I'm so glad I have time off so I can. I'm getting REALLY excited to move on to pureed foods. Getting sick of liquids. However, I start purees next week and I'm really nervous because I'm going back to work. So... we'll see. It's all quite a learning experience!! I'm so glad you are doing so well!

I had my gallbladder out and it was a piece of cake Same day surgery, home that night. Very easy recovery! If you got through GBP, you will be just fine. I had my surgery on a Thursday and went back to work half days on Mondays (although I was exhausted!).You will feel SO MUCH BETTER once it's gone, especially if you've been having attacks. They are horrible.

So many of you had surgery this week! How are you all feeling? I'm 10 days post-op and feel pretty good - I just get really tired all of a sudden, but it gets better every day. Cannot wait to hear how you're doing!

I'm good! Yesterday I was really uncomfortable, but I got my drain taken out and a shower and felt tons better. . I'm home now, walking and sipping!!how are you all? -
Hi everyone! My surgery was this morning at 7:30am. I'm up and walking and have no pain at all, just some discomfort in the left side of my stomach where the drain is. I'm feeling good!! Just wanted you all to know that it is SO SO SO much better than I thought I would. I was a nervous wreck yesterday to the point that I thought about canceling because I couldn't stop panicking and asking myself why I was doing this. I didn't sleep a wink last night and was feeling nauseous and emotional when I checked in this morning. What I'm trying to say is that if a train wreck like me can so this, you can too. It can be aoooo scary, but my experience so far has been really good. . Not even close to what I imagine!d it would be!

Ugh, I'm so sorry! Has your doc had anything to say? I have a cousin who couldn't tolerate the whey protein at all- made her horribly sick. She started using rice and pea protein and was just fine. I'm so hoping you feel better soon. -

Day 6: I'm kinda tired of the sweetness, which is really weird because I would probably eat sugar with a spoon all the live long day if I could. Other than that, all is well. I went out and bought about 5416 sugar free Torani coffee flavors yesterday to mix things up. I also ordered a bunch of unflavored Protein powder so I can mix it in Soup. I'm craving savory, which is very unlike me. How are all of you doing? -
Hi Salem! My surgery is September 2nd, and I am on the diet too. I go between being just fine and crying about Cookies (seriously. I started crying because I thought about not eating them again the way I used to). I think many of us have the fat shield, and it's scary. I often wonder what I will blame when it's gone! I can handle being fat, because I'm used to it and it's a great thing to blame in many situations. I have no idea what I will blame when the fat is gone. BUT - I'm ready. SO READY. There are other defenses we can build, or we can live a bit more freely without the wall. I try to think of it this way: in the Middle Ages, they wore huge, heavy shields of armor, but eventually shed them for lighter, more versatile suits. That's what were doing. We'll still be us, just in lighter suits of armor. And maybe we'll be even better versions of us.

Oh, that's exciting and scary!! I'm so excited for both of you.

I'm feeling better when I drink a lot of water too. Oohhh, I so understand the pizza thing. My husband is eating French toast and sausage and I most started crying. And I'm not even hungry! Gahhhhh. -

Day 4 is good! I found these Wonderslim shakes and I add extra Protien and they taste like pie. I've had a headache too, but ibuprofen is working well. I'm also clearlllyyyy detoxing on sugar and caffeine and started crying yesterday when I thought about cookies. But it was only momentary. . Haven't cheated and am feeling good... And 7 pounds lost! -

Day 3 is okay! Minor headache. Feeling better, though, and drank a WonderSlim pudding shake this morning and it was the best. thing. ever. It was like drinking pie.
