  1. Mal-- I see a real change in you in the RR pics!! I know it is hard to see when it is yourself but you really do look thinner!! I joined a gym (24 hour fitness) and have managed to go 2 out of 3 nights since i joined. I actually like it (who woulda thunk it? :confused2:) I wish the aquasize classes worked out time wise for me, but I quess i will just have to get a tape or book to work with. The scale has started moving again after like 3 months, but I seem to not have much restriction again, I hope my port is not leaking. I would hate to see what it wold cost me to have it replaced. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!:cool2:
  2. Congrats Michelle:thumbup: I am so very happy for you, love is one of the best things in the whole wide world! :welldoneclap: And it could not have happened to a nicer gal. I love reading about everyone's lives and how well so many of you are doing. It helps me to stay on track myself. I was very lucky to happen across this group and can't wait to see you guys on Wednesday. :biggrin2:
  3. I was banded in Mexico and have had fills with both Dr K and his PA Tom, and have never had any issues with attitude. I am sorry you had a bad experience. I have always felt that I was treated just like all his patients. Good luck in your future and in finding a Doc you feel comfortable with.
  4. Dee i just love your stories!!! I just got home from fill number 4. I am up to 6.95 in a 7cc band so here's hoping I hit my sweet spot. After the last fill I felt restriction for 2 weeks but then nothing, I could eat a cow and still not be full. I had Tom recalibrate my fill and I had 5.55 when it should have been 6.4. I really hope I dont have a slow leak!! I lost 6 lbs over the 6 weeks, but just has an intestinal virus, so I think that is where all the loss came from. A friend of mine took a pic of me in July of last year and I was HUGE!! I can really see the difference now that I have seen that pic. I really want to go to RR this month, either day would be good for me so just let me know what you decide. I am posting the before pic and an after pic which is kinda of racey, byut I really love it so hope no one is offended.
  5. I have the same issue with jeans, and I have found a great solution. I get the mid or low rise jeans, and wear them at my waist ( I am short waisted). That way the "waist" is bigger and the rest of the jeans fit great.
  6. Livesaver Welcome to the banditos!!!! This is a wonderful group of women who really support each other. We get together once a month at Red Robin on I-25 and Arapahoe, I think this month it is on April 9th (Wens). I am sure some of the gals would also be willing to meet at other times during the month. I am in Aurora and if you need someone to talk to let me know. Welcome again to bandland and this wonder group of ladies (and one token guy)
  7. Mamato3, You are not out of place. Dr. K does accept patients banded by other docs, even Mexican docs. I think the current fee is $200 for the first visit and $150 thereafter. Welcome back to Colorado!!!
  8. I am so sorry to have missed last night, again. I always want to go but things come up. I have been lurking out here for some time as I have been in a funk and did not want to drag anyone else down with me. GREAT NEWS!!! After the scale barely moving for a month I finally reached ONEDERLAND!!!!!:tea::rofl::party::Banane41::Banane27::Banane48: As for the NSV: My wedding bands being able to fit ALL my finger including thumb. Sleeping on my side without my belly pooling on the bed in front of me. SEX, SEX, SEX without feeling like I have to hide in the dark. Everyone I work with asking me what the hell I am doing and saying that I look pretty :w00t: My boobs being bigger than my belly!!!!! Being able to buy my clothes in the misses section (all those choices make my head spin) I have loved reading all the posts and promise to participate more now that I am feeling human again!!! You gals are the best bunch I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
  9. yeah Dee!!!! you are offically one of the Banditos!! Widow don't give up, I agree that the things we have to fight for are the ones we treasure the most. I hope to join you gals at RR on the 7th, missed seeing you all last month!!
  10. Lap_dancer you rock!! I love your pics they are so dramatic!! The low profile port is a port with a flatter coned area and most surgeons will change your port to this if requested when you are near or at your goal weight. It is harder to access for fills especially when just banded, so they use the higher profile one for most people. I plan on waiting til I am at goal weight for one year and then if I need a tummy tuck I will have them change the port at that time (they reposition the port when the remove the excess skin anyway) :frown:
  11. Ok, so I just have to share this. For the first time ever I am thrilled to say that I have nothing to wear (well ok almost nothing). I cleaned out my closet and all my drawers and got rid of all the clothes that were too big. Goodwill is getting three HUGE bags of "fat clothes" I a going to take them first thing in the morning so I don't chicken out and keep them "just in case" I am now more than a third of the way to my goal weight. :seeya: Welcome to all the newbies, you have joined a great community of lovely and caring ladies (and 1 guy)
  12. Everyone has so much going on I feel like I have no life. I was starving before my first fill too, I managed to stay on mushies and soft foods but wanted to eat the house. Much better after a fill. I will mark down the 7th on my calendar, hated to miss the last RR, it's so much fun to see you all. Hope everyone is having a great new year and that all your troubles last only as long as your new years resolutions!!
  13. Happy holidays to one and all !!! heres hoping that the new year brings all of us what we want most. :whoo:
  14. I have been out there lurking, reading everyone's posts. Mona that was so damn funny, wish I could have been in the hall just then. Yes I am planning to come tonight, wouldn't miss it. Everyone has so much going on in their lives right now, my life is boring in comparrison. See you all tonight. :whoo:
  15. Dee, I too believe that everything happens for a reason. This does not necessarily mean that you should not have this surgery, just maybe not right now. Does Dr K work with any other gas-passers (could not spell the correct name) Maybe a different one would consider your past surgery history and have a different view point. As for being embarrassed, why? Just because your surgery has been delayed? Things like that happen all the time and thats really all you have to say (if you want to explain at all). I suspect things will work out in the end and you will be happy with the results, it's just hard right now to see past today. I would love to see all of you at RR on Tuesday, 7:00 right? :hungry: (umm French Onion Soup)
  16. Ok - let's start the sign up list for Red Robin on December 13th. Dynamo Mal Drews VABandster Bookholder Looking forward to meeting even more people this time.
  17. Dee- wow just one more day!! I bet you are so excited!! I wasn't nervous before surgery so I did not think anything special on the way in. If you find yourself getting nervous just picture yourself as you want to be, stong, healthy and happy:peace: What time is your surgery?
  18. Taynuh- congrats!!!!! I am sure that we all will be thinking of you on your wonderful trip to get your son. :whoo: I too would not mind meeting more frequently to meet the out of towners, just tell me when.

    nervous about surgery, need advise

yes it is normal to feel that way, you are enbarking on a whole new lifestyle and to no be nervous would be weird. I had my surgery in TJ and felt that way all day the day of surgery. Afterwards I was releived that all the worry was for nothing. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Try to relax and enjoy the ride. :nervous
  20. Mal thanks so much for that info, after reading through it I decided that I really did need a fill so I took your canceled appt. Dr K added 1.5 cc bringing my total to 5.5 in a 7 cc band. I can really feel the difference now. I am glad I went before the holidays. Thanks for keeping that appt open for me!!
  21. Dee- Wow 8 lbs, off to a roaring start!!! Only 10 days to go, I am so excited for you!!!! Lapdancer- You look great the difference is very obvious!! Everyone else, I cant't wait for next RR, that was a blast and so very helpful to my outlook. So how do you figure out if you need a fill? I can eat way more than I think I should but I also have foods that will not go down and have PB'd three times this week. The scale does not seem to be moving in the last week or so but it is my TOM, too. I made an appointment for December 11th but am having second thoughts. So confused just don't know what to do. Any advise? :help:
  22. 161 lbs, that is great. Sorry I could not be there, but I will make it on Tuesday. What a good looking bunch of women! Looking forward to meeting you all. :woot:
