Anselee started following Thursday Fun--Does your sleeve have a nickname?, Not Eating to deal with Upseting Things, Need names of good protein powder and and 7 others
-
Okay so Yesterday I found out that did not get the job I wanted/needed, not only that my contact lenses have been discontinued and a few other upsetting things . In the past food would have been my go to deal with being upset but yesterday I called a friend and went on a beautiful 1.5 mile walk by the Water instead. I know my surgery was on 4/28/2014 but I have to say I love "Diva the sleeve" and how I am using my tools to change my life!
-
You look wonderful !

V8 juice was on the list (I know it's not fresh) from my NUT but my sleeve aka Diva could not tolerate it so be careful! My surgery date was 4/28/14 for your reference.

4 days post op & regretting surgery
Anselee replied to Antonia_megan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call your doctor's office again someone is on call over the weekend. Did you tell them that you fell over when you reached for the phone or did this happen after? You may have lost too many fluids and need some through IV. -

Hi Amy, Yes 2 ounces is the size of protien shakes1 tablespoon of protien powder and 1/4 cup of fat free or 1% milk I am using 1% milk. I put in a shot glass so it fills it and it again tricks me so it looks to me like I'm getting a lot. I was told by my NUT that I now have a baby stomach and need to feed it so 2-3 ounces liquid (protien shakes) or max 2 Tablespoons if doing blended every 2 hours if this helps. This comes out to eating 6 small meals a day for now. But like I said ths is just my guidlines your program will be different. But I can say I feel satified. Good luck with your meetings today and if you want to commuicate with me off forum Amy please let me know.

Hi Amy, I would bring up these concerns with your nutritionist and doctor if you are concerned about the amounts you are able to eat comfortably. I can share where I am and what I was told to do if that helps though every program and doctor is different. I had my surgery on 4/28/2014 and am on blended foods. We are told not to drink Water 30 mins before or after meals (and not with either) because this will stretch out our sleeves. Also get a baby spoon to eat and a digital scale to weigh our foods. Oh they did not say too but my Aunt bought me cocktail forks which has helped me not eat too muck and slowly along with the baby spoon. Eat slowly each meal of 2 ounces should take 15 mins. I bought a tiny ramakin so it looked like I was eating more. My plan says to eat 6 meals a day and drink 32 ounces of water. 1-2 meals should be 2 ounce Protein shakes for healing. I hope this helps!

HELP! Soft food phase diet

I am not sure when you had your surgery, but if you are concerned about the comparable amounts you are eating I would call and talk with your nutritionist. -
Getting depressed because of my slow loss!
Anselee replied to Scylla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It seems that that scale always seems to lurk over our heads if we let it. It reminds me of the little black rain cloud that always followed Winnie the Pooh from my childhood books. Before I started on this journey I would have never though about stepping on the scale daily. (you would have had to drag me kicking and screaming just to get on it in the first place). Every program and every doctor and ever NUT advise is different. I can share mine if it helps. We are told to try to eat 6 times a day and drink at least 32 ounce of Water. I had my surgery on 4/28/14 and I am on blended food at the moment. We are told to try 1-2 two oz make two of our six meals Protein shakes to assist with healing. I hope this helps. Try to be kind to your self my program only had us on a strict diet 1 week before surgery not 30 but we all needed to loose weight and change habits prior to approval. -
I had my done April 28th as well I hope you are all doing well. I live in Massachusetts.
