Disney World bound-what to eat there?

Where did you read this at? I am going in October and have a 3 year old daughter. I know we are going to be doing a few buffets/character dinning and I don't want to pay full price when I won't be eating much. Do you think that I will need something from my doctor stating that I've had weight loss surgery?

    It's Been a While

Hey everyone! I am not sure if any of you remember me but I just wanted to check in. Everything has been going great with me. As you can see by my ticker I have lost 42 lbs. I am just starting to feel the effects of the band. I know I was supposed to be training myself these last 6 months but I didn't. I am just starting to get used to the chew, chew, chew and small bites. I can definalty say that I've feelt the "stuck" feeling several times so far. I go back again on Tuesday for another fill so I know things are going to get harder. I've been a little depressed these past few months because I don't see the weight coming off and I've lost that drive that I had in the begining. I am not excersing and can't seem to get myself out there to do it! Do any of you feel this way or have felt this way? My nurse keeps telling me to give it 9 months and then things will start looking up and I will be where I should be with the band. That is only 2 months away and I just don't see that much of a change taking place. Anyway, it was good checking up on everyone and by the looks of it you are all doing wonderful! Congrats!

    It's been a while!

Hey everyone. It's been a while since I've posted. I wanted to pop in and tell everyone that I had my 3rd fill today and I have lost 30lbs total. I am pretty excited but still have not felt any restriction. I am hoping this fill today will help me out some. I had 2 fills of 2cc's and 1 fill today of 1cc. Is anyone feeling any restrictions? Congrats to everyone on the weightloss!

    Nauseated after fill

Today was my first fill. It's been about an hour since I've had it and I am feeling pretty nauseated. Is this normal?

    Nauseated after fill

Thanks everyone for the advise. Once I got home and had some soup I felt much better. Today I don't feel nauseated at all.

    First Fill

So, I'm back from my first fill. It's wasn't bad at all. It didn't hurt and I was in and out really quick. I go back 1/9 for another if needed. I have to be on liquids for 24 hours and then I can resume normal eating. I am feeling a little neuseated right now. Have any of you felt that way after a fill?

    First Fill

Hey everyone! I will be getting my first fill today. I am a little nervous as to what to expect but VERY excited! I am still losing weight but I'm also starving myself to do it. I NEVER feel that "full" feeling. I limit myself to small portions and try hard not to snack in between. I just feel like, why the heck did I do this! I could be starving myself without the lapband. I hope this fill helps me out some!

    Share your NSVs!

I've noticed that two pairs of paints that I wear to work are getting really big. I've been pulling them almost up to my bra to make them stay one. It's either time to ge a few new pair or buy a belt. I don't have all kinds of money to be spending every time I go down a size.
  9. I joined curves two weeks ago and have been going three to four times a week. I really like it! I've been burning between 350-400 calories in just 30 minutes!! I am able to do this at lunch time and that is about the only time I have for exercise.

    First Fill

I will be getting my fill next week on the 12th!!! I can't wait!!! I am soooo tired of being hungry all the time!
  11. I did very well. I have been able to eat pretty much anything I want for about a week now but of course I haven't. Thursday there was soooooo much food it was overwhelming. I was very proud of myself though. I brought a baked sweet potato to my Aunts house, had a couple peices of turkey, (it was my three week mark and could start turkey and chicken), a teaspoon of mashed potatoes and I couldn't live without a couple bites of my Uncle's cornbread dressing. I would say that I at not even half of what I would normall eat and I was stuffed. Now of course I know once I get my fill on the 12th that isn't happening anymore but it kind of felt good to have some of the things I wanted, in moderation, for Thanksgivng. Now Christmas, that will be a different story. How did everyone else do? Those who are no longer on liquids what did you eat?

    When do you get hungry

I have a protein shake in the morning before I leave for work. I'm not usually hungry then but it keeps me from being hungry until about 10am. I will usually have a peice of fat free string cheese, sf jello or pudding at that time. When I get back to work from Curves I've been eating tuna with fat free mayo. That will usually keep me feeling full until I get home from dinner. I will have dinner around 5:30-6:00 but once my daughter is in bed at around 8:00 that is the time I have to controll myself. I want to just munch and munch. I find myself walking into the kitchen for no reason. I know before I would have grabed some cookies or ice cream but not I just turn around and find something to keep my mind occupied!

    Getting to know you ...

My husband, Frank, is a Federal Fierfighter. He works on the air force base out there. I've just started back to work since Katrina and I am an anministrative assistant for an insurance/finance company not to far from home. I don't have many hobbies but I do enjoy spending as much time with my family and friends as possible.

    2 Little ones

I had my mom keep my 2 year old daughter the night before and after surgery and my cousin keep her the second night after surgery. I really wanted to make sure I got all the rest that I could. I missed her but I think I needed those tow days with just hubby taking care of me. Once she came he had to divide his time between the two of us but I was able to do a lot on my own by then.

    Driving?

Same for me. I was told that I could drive whenever just as long as I wasn't taken pain medication.

    Any Cajuns out there?

Hey everyone! I have banded on November 1st and things are going pretty good. I've lost 9lbs and will be starting curves on Monday. I am looking forward to getting my fill on December 12th because I am having a rough time with hunger. Tomecia - Good Luck to you!!!

    I'm so exctied!

I had my post op appointment yesterday and I feel soooo much better about myself. I was really having a rough time last week with the whole mental eating. Talking with the nurse made me feel great and a big weight was lifted off my shoulder. I've been drinking my Protein shakes, bought some bars and I can now have tuna. For now on it's ONLY protein for me! Also, I joined Curves today and will begin working out at lunchtime Monday-Friday. That's going to help keep my mind off food as well. :whoo: Just wanted to let you all know that I am feeling much better and I am not going to let bad foods try to take control again!!!
  19. I've noticed that we haven't come to an agreement on a name for our board. I am posting a poll and in 3 day which ever name has the most votes will be our logo. Is everyone okay with this? I though it would be the easiest way to make the decision and it's anonymous so no bodies feelings will get hurt. So get voting ladies!!! Oh and I spelled Energized and Nymphs wrong and didn't know how to correct it. Sorry!!
  20. Longhorn - I'm glad the port incision is healing better now. I've also had people tell me that my face looks a little thiner. I've lost 9lbs so I don't understand that but everyones knows about my surgery so maybe they are just trying to be encouraging. When will you be getting your fill? I found out that my first 3 fills are free and any after that I will have to pay for then file through my insurance. I guess that isn't too bad.
  21. Had my post op today. Everything looks great and is going great. I've lost 9lbs and now I can join Curves! I go on December 12th for my first fill and I can't wait!!!!

Looks like Nymps it will be. I have the poll going a couple more days. I want to get a glitter graphic like some of you all. Where do I get that from?

    November Poll

These are all the names that I found on the other thread so I put them all up there and figured this would be the official poll. We are half way into November so it's about time we get a name! If anyone has a problem with this please let me know and I will remove the poll.
