Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!
ladyraerae replied to AshleyMidwife's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
HW-329 SW-290 CW-190 Largest size 22/24 I am 6' tall and am now a size 10. My doctor and I did set a goal of 180 so I started running the beginning of the year. I am completely fine with my size, I am just working on toning my body now. I am the happiest I have ever been with my health and feel great and that's what matters the most to me! -

I'm 6' and my HW was 330. It has been 8 months since my surgery and I am at 195 and a size 10/12. My doctor and I have set a goal of 180. My quality of life is so much better now and I am perfectly happy with my weight loss so far. I am going to continue the new healthy habits I have formed and take it from there! Good luck to all and happy holidays! -
Hello! SW 330 CW 218 Sleeved 4/23 Wow what a fantastic journey this had been. I just wish I would have done it sooner. I can't believe I only have to lose 38 more lbs to reach my goal weight. It's the closest I can ever remember I have been to a healthy weight. I feel like I have gotten some of my youth back, all this energy is great. Still no breads or crackers or carbs in general. But I do know that this is the right life for me. I lost my father on Father's Day and he was obese and diabetic. It only re-affirmed my decision that I did the right thing. Hope everyone is doing well!

Morgan I am three months out and still have some pain at my largest incision site at times. It was very tender right after surgery for me. I was told by my doctor the reason was because that's where he did the most moving around of my insides and that's the hole the stomach came out through. It does get better but we have to remember we did have a major surgery. I am definitely not a doctor so please make sure you contact your doc if it gets bad. Good luck on your recovery and much success on the new you! -
Hello everyone! I'm down 88.5 lbs, 40 pre-op and 48.5 post-op. I can't wait to be able to say I lost 100 lbs. What an incredible journey this has been! I feel great inside and out! I am so glad I made this life changing decision. It's so nice for once to have clothes falling off for being to big rather than tryin to squeeze into everything. It's nice to cross my legs with little to no effort and wear heels all day at work without changing into flats halfway through. I hope everyone is feeling good n doing well and I love hearing all your stories. Keep up the good work!

How far into your journey did you experience dehydration? That scares the heck out of me. Any advice? I was hospitalized twice in week 3. It was very tough for me to sip sip sip all day long. I felt like I was going to float away lol. It really gave me a nauseated feeling. I now keep a Water bottle/ Powerade zero bottle with me at all times and keep sipping on it throughout the day. I did have a nurse visit me every week at home for the first few weeks and she was a great help and was the one who made me go in to the hospital for the dehydration. Other than that little bump in the road I have been nothing but happy with my decision. I have lost 45 lbs since April 23rd and am feeling better everyday! Good luck to you!

The company that I work for required me to be off for 6 weeks unless I got a release form from my Dr. To go back to work earlier. I was very disappointed when I first heard this but became very thankful as time went on post op. I have got the opportunity to learn more about my body and how it reacts to food and been able to develop a nice eating pattern so I am sure to get in all the protein and fluids I need to. I did not anticipate being hospitalized for dehydration twice. It's been quite an emotional roller coaster with me also so I am glad I haven't had the stress of work. I know every persons body is different but I know I am very glad I had the time off. I am so excited to go back to work in 5 days, and feel 100% ready to work!

I love coconut and these sound amazing. I'm only 2 weeks post op so I have awhile to wait to try these but thanks for the great recipe!

I usually put 2 tablespoons in my shakes which are normally about 12 oz. I will warn u not to try to eat the PB2. I made the mistake and gave into a craving for peanut butter and made a tablespoon of peanut butter in which I decided to eat. It hurt so bad I felt like I had swallowed rocks. Lesson learned!

I had my surgery on 4-23 and was only allowed liquids 2 weeks before surgery and have to stay on liquids until I am transitioned to soft foods on 5-12. So that means protein shakes, broth, jello, Popsicles, pudding, and Powerade zero for over a month. This is seriously making me crazy! I admit I have mixed in some mashed potatoes with my protein broth a few times so I can feel satisfied, but this is the toughest diet I have ever had to follow. I give a lot of kudos to everyone who is going through this because it is definitely a true test of if you really want to change your life. Good luck to everyone!
