Hello fellow April sleevers! I am keeping track of info I need in a notebook. I have an activity column, meds column, and liquids column. I am 5 days post op and am going to see my NUT tomorrow. My drain was removed yesterday and ouch is right! My home nurse stopped by today to check and make sure things were ok and I got a thumbs up so I'm just going to keep taking it easy. One day at a time so I don't overdue it and hurt myself. This pain does suck so I'm hoping it will get easier. Thanks to all of your words of wisdom.

I am 2 days post op and it has been rough. I haven't been able to pass any gas and that's been very uncomfortable. Still at the hospital because I'm not keeping things down well. Last night was the worst I was dry heaving for about an hour and it was hurting at my incision area horribly. I'm walking n sipping my brains out but not having very much luck. Hopefully things will start getting better.

My sleeve was done yesterday April 23 and I was not expecting all this pain. Learning to stand up or sit down has been the hardest thing for me to learn I keep finding to use my core muscle area which happens to be the one that all the incisions are in I am nauseous all the time and the ice chips are the only thing that I dare to put in my mouth. Getting ready to do a swallow study.

Today is finally here! Wow! I am a little nervous and just checked in at the hospital. I had a crazy realization this morning that I will never be able to take a big gulp of water again. Duh! Lol! I am a little hard headed though. I have to keep reminding myself why I am doing this and that I am making the right decision. Good luck to all of you today, I will pray for you and your surgeons. I am down 14 lbs on the pre-op diet. I started mine April 9th and my surgery is on the 23rd. I haven't exercised a ton due to the fact I've been working 12 hour days to try to get everything ready when I'm gone. My gym is right around the corner from my house and I will be going everyday when I get home from the hospital and working with my trainer. I've been having these crazy dreams that I've been cheating though. Lol! Good luck to everyone and stay strong.

Yes Dr.Gluck is doing my surgery. I am now 6 days away from surgery. Thanks Sarah and Carol for sharing your experiences with Dr.Gluck. I am so excited but can't believe it's almost here. I am dropping weight like crazy on this liquid diet. I've lost 13 lbs. in a week! For a split second I asked myself if I can lose weight like this do I need the surgery? Then reality set in that I would never be able to do this if surgery wasn't making me do this liquid diet. I do have a pretty strenuous job though so I'm wondering how long I will be off of work? I've heard a lot of mixed answers regarding that. Thanks for everything!

Sarahjane79 how are u doing since your surgery? Any tips u can give to a girl that's only a week away and starting to freak out a bit?

How's everyone doing on their pre-op liquid diet?

Hello all! Dr.Gluck out of Muskegon is doing my sleeve on April 23rd. He did my moms RNY 4 years ago and he and his staff are second to none. Any time she needed anything or had any questions they were there. I have met with him one on one twice and he has a great demeanor about him. I do work in Grand Rapids and am looking for a support group there if anyone knows of a good one. Very excited for this to finally be happening!

Go to Lane Bryant and have one of their fit experts help find you the right bra for your new size. You can also buy a band smaller and buy a 3 pack of extenders for $8. This will help as you are shrinking down. Then as u become smaller u can take off the extenders and still have good support.

Hi Everyone! My surgery date is April 23rd as well. I am currently on a high-protein liquid diet for the 2 weeks before my surgery. I find it very interesting that so many people having the same surgery have so many different lengths and types of pre-op diets. I really want to cheat but I know this is just the beginning and I have to stay strong. I have found I really like the chocolate muscle milk lite drinks and the cheesecake jello pudding. I've been working late this week so it's been a little easier to follow my diet. I have so much anxiety and excitement, I hope I am doing the right thing. I really do enjoy hearing how I'm not alone in this battle. Thank you to you all!

Mommyjamie, good luck to you! I know I've just tried to stay busy. Go get a pedicure or visit a friend. The sugar free Popsicles have been a nice go to for me as well. You can do it!!!

I'm a 23rd girl!!!! So excited to be headed down this path to a happier and healthier future. I on the other hand have always been "big boned", lol! I came from a family of obesity, so it was just accepted. My mom had RNY 3 years ago and is feeling n looking great. She has been a great inspiration to me and her surgeon is doing my sleeve. If this liquid diet for 2 weeks doesn't kill me I can make it through anything. I am so glad I found this app because it is awesome to hear other people are going through the same thing.

Yes, I as well am on day 3 of a 14 day liquid diet before I have my surgery on the 23rd. This is definitely taking a lot of will power. I never knew I loved low fat cream soup until these past few days, lol! So glad the headaches are gone now I just need the hunger pains to follow. I know we can do this but it's not gonna be easy. I don't know anything about the filter for blood clotting, but I definitely plan on asking. I have found that I really like the Muscle Milk Lite drinks in the chocolate flavor. I have also enjoyed sugar free jello with sugar free pudding layered on top. The liquid diet is hard but I am now in day 3 and the headaches seem to have let up a little. April 23rd is the big day and I know I have to do the liquid diet for 3 weeks post op so I better get used to it. I know I can do this and can't wait to remove the fat suit I have been wearing! Just have to take it one day at a time. We all can do this!

Having my surgery on the 23rd and my nerves are starting to set in. I am on day 2 of 14 for liquid diet. Pretty sure this will be one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I'm so glad I found this great app because everyone's stories and tips are a great help to me!

Hunger pains suck! I guess I'm gonna try my first sugar free Popsicle, yay!

My surgery is April 23rd and I am on day 2 of my liquid diet. I thought about cheating so many times today but managed to stand my ground. I am so hungry!!! I have been peeing like a racehorse all day as well, lol. I was not expecting the irritating headaches either. This is going to be a huge learning curve for this girlie!
