  1. Hi Jazzystouch, and congratulations, good to know that there is someone out there in the banded world that feels like i do.. u are right, im a strong believer that things happen for a reason, ofcourse this baby is a blessing.....im just still in shock!

here is my email if any1 wants to email and keep in touch with our pregnancies.. ginanikodemou@optusnet.com.au

im due Nov.24th.. how about u?

  2. :unsure:I think I am supposed to wait a year until I get pregnant after getting banded. I just got my band on 3/5/08. My husband and I already have four wonderful children and we don't want anymore. We were taking precautions, but I was also taking precautions with 3 of my 4 I already have. What complications/problems could I run into if I really am pregnant so soon after getting my band?

    Beccach,

pretty much like u ,i have 3 kids,, my oldest 16 then 14 and a 9 year old.. i ve been banded for 5 months and 3 weeks ago i found out im pregnant!!:purplebananna:

im currently 7 weeks pregos and im still in shock, ive known for 3 weeks now and i thought i wouldve accepted it , but i dont want anymore kids... im stressing badly, my main focus was my band... i feel like crap my bands tooo tight i pb about 4 times a week, morning sickness is starting to kick in

i feel tired and lightheaded at times...my surgeons in Italy holidaying and im trying to hold on till may1st before contacting his office cause im so determined to lose more weight! wishing u all the best

  3. NEVER IN a million years did i ever think i would post in a Pregnancy Thread...YES guys im pregnant, found out last week and i wasnt toooo happy about it,, i got 3 kids my oldest is 16 followed by 13 and then 9. my band was my focus , losing weight was my number 1 focus. and now im pregnant.. every1 around me is so excited and i must admit every1s support is making me accept it.. i mean dont take me wrong,, i love babies, im a childcare worker my house is like a 24hr day care centre but i had other future intentions like losing weight , for all u guys out there wondering if i used protection well yes we do but it was just once with out it,, :crying: thats all it takes hey,, well we are having a xmas baby,, my kids are so exxcited thats all i hear, the baby this, the baby that......how soon after finding out that ur pregos should u have an unfill? im so tight at the moment that i pretty much pb daily i have so much restriction that a sandwich could take half a day to eat and at times lately i have felt a bit light hearted...

  4. Jacqui, too early to tell if i cant tolerate anythiing else.. i had my 3rd fill yesterday and had the vomitting incident today but previous to this fill, bread would fill stuck and cause pain but nothing like today though,,

before this fill maybe i was eating too much because no matter really what i ate i would get the pain and feeling stuck and i had pressumed it was the bands way of telling me if had enough...one thing i ate a few days and springs to my head right now is 1/2 hard boiled egg and 1/4 of garden Tomato gave me the stuck feeling,, sorry i hope im making sense its all new to me after the post before this one that i wrote i realised what it means to pb....

Jacqui just tell me, i need to to stop eating my meals way ahead before i feel the full stuck feeling RIGHT?even if its just 1 or 2 small bites into that 1/4 of sandwich, even though im not full i got to stop dont I?

  5. oh my god,, ive spent the past 30 minutes in the bathroom i made half a ham sandwhich and ate less than the 1/4 and i got stuck,, but this time the feeling wasnt like other times it was hurting me and my mouth was sliming , eventually i vomited,,,,,am i too tight? i tried really hard not to vomit but my mouth was sliming,,, sorry to describe it to u all.........

  6. Guys thanx for ur advice,, the bread i use is 9 grain bread,, i thought the same, avoid the foods u cant tolerate,, my surgeon said to keep eating it,, e.g homemade bread! one bite and it feel stuck,, he said keep eating it!! lol

ive joined the womens gym CURVES and i attend 3 times a week....my surgeon has never mentioned how many calories i should be having....he just said no dieting cause i busted his nuts to give up carbs,, this is my 3rd fill at my previous to appointments ive been losing 2 kilos and he was happpy about it. all he kept saying it could take 3 to 4 fills for me to get really good restriction.

ive been so down after yesterdays appointment that this morning ive gone out and bought lettuce and have said to myself im eating that for the whole day from now on,,, bad approach i know.. all ive had today was coffee and 1 hard boiled eggs which ive nibbled on for one hour....

i suppose its all a learning process and as i learn i will make this work hey!

  7. Help! im feeling really lost

went for my third fill yesterday and i didnt do too good with my weight loss this month! i only managed to lose 1/2 kilo....:)

im very confused my surgeon said that im overeating! i told him that i often get the stuck feeling and i know i cant eat anymore,, well i thought thats the sign that its time to stop eating,,at times i eat 1/4 of a sandwich and get that feeling!

he said i got to stop eating way ahead and not experience that feeling,, lease help me guys,, is this true,, so that means that if i get that feeling on 1/4 of a sandwhich i got to stop eating on less than a 1/4!

im so depressed caused he said by overeating like this im stretching the upper pouch,, and boy oh boy,, i reckon ive achieved that..

ive also joined the gym and go 3 times a week.. could i be turning my fat to muscle?

  8. hi, i was banded exactly 12 weeks ago and have just had my 2nd fill....5 hrs after fill and starving i just had a sandwich,,,,,how dangerous is it? mind u my doctor didnt even remind me to be on liquids for the rest of the day, his receptionist yelled it out to me as i was walking out of the building..after reading some of the posts it seems every doctor has different rules on eating after fills... ive lost a total of 22 pounds in the 12 weeks, interested to know how other october bandsters are going in regards to their loss.........

  9. hi, i feel exactly the same way.. i was banded on October 30th and lost 15 pounds in the first 4 weeks,, i had my first fill on the 19th December.. there are days that i can eat lots and scared that i also have stretched my pouch but for the last couple of days im starting to feel restriction ,, struggle with my little meal.. it takes me 3 sittings throughout the day to eat it...is it normal to feel restricted some days and not much other days?...

  10. Lynsay, i must say i feel exactly the way u do,, Bandster's Hell?

i had my surgery 30th october , all was going fantastic up until i started solids....my brain doesnt know if im full or if im hungry at times....my weightloss was good, i must say i havent stepped on the scales in over 3 weeks cause i was terrified i put weight on,, but i stepped on them this morning and lost a couple more kilos. Going for my first fill in 2 days and cant wait to get restriction. i think im eating too much carbs, e.g toast for Breakfast, sandwhich for lunch, , its not white bread, its the 9grain bread........

  11. today im really frustrated, i took my 4 week photo,, ive lost heaps around my thighs and legs,, soon they will look like chicken legs..any1 got any suggestions how to lose my big fat belly? any1 used the abrocker? ive been walking 1805m around the lake nearby nearly everyday,, that seems to help those legs but not my gut....

  12. thanx kathryn for starting this thread.. i was about to start the same one..im 4 weeks post op and im eating heaps.. is this bandsters hell? there a days that i feel full pretty quick and there are days that i can eat all day..

ive had a really rough week with other issues in my life and feel that i have totally neglected my band,,boy i was so focus from the day of surgery and lost 1 stone in the first 3 weeks.. im too scared to step on the scales...help.. have i stuffed up..

  13. i was very scared about vomiting after surgery because this is always the case but ive been banded 3 weeks now and i woke up with no vomiting and havent vomitted yet, nor ever feel like vomiting.. let ur anaesthetist now and he will give u something to prevent nausea,, he gave me something......all the best good luck..

  14. Angelsoul, i hate been the centre of attention, maybe because im so uncomfortable within myself and my self esteem was so low, u jusst wanna hide from the world..

im 3 weeks post op and have dropped 1 stone and i feel fantastic, people are starting to notice the weight coming off and when they comment it makes me feel like im achieving my goal and it builds my self esteem and i walk with my head high confidently cause for once when it comes to my weightloss im not a failure..Ive spent all morning at my friends and her mum and my other friends daughter has complimented me like a million times..it feels really good cause it makes u wanna keep going........

  15. Hello I am from Australia first time on this site. I was banded on the 5th Novemeber, struggling with my shakes,Prior to banding I was allowed 3 per day and a salad or green vegies for tea, once banded I have to drink Optifast shakes for the next 2 weeks (now at the end of my second week) and allowed some vegie juice in between. Some times unsure if I am hungry (tummy grumbling like crazy) or habitual eater. Struggling and unsure of the next phase (mushy food) I have had the past two weeks off work and ready to go back, should make my routine a lot easier. Over all I do need some one to bounce off and discuss how I am feeling. I have lost 8 kgs ( approx 16 lbs ) in 4 weeks.

WHERE ABOUTS IN AUSTRALIA ARE U? IM IN MELBOURNE and i was banded on october 30th,, welcome to the forum,...

  16. GUYS DONT STRESS................

i had the same fear and started a thread on the same topic 1 mnth ago..let me re assure u all that u will be fine and will look back and laugh,, ive been banded 2 weeks now and its the best thing i have done for myself.. the surgery was easier than i thought and actually my husband was more nervous than i was on the actual day...u will all be fine,,goodluck to u all.......

  17. i was banded on 30th Oct, must say i tolerate pain very well, i came home without medication, Funny thing i got billed the other day for 3 sort of medication from the hospital ,called them to sort it out, i told them i left hospital with none, they said they forgot to give them to me! i think i took liquid panamax (tylenol) once a day for the first 4 days and that was it, havent experienced much pain, and thankgod no shoulder pain.. the only pain i had was a stitch under my left rib whenever i coughed, laughed or yawned it hurt, but the pain has gone now..........

  18. help, im 2 weeks post op tomorrow, is it normal to feel like u can eat a horse at this stage? ive started mushies and i seem to be eating often and more than i should.. and to top it off im PMS..my scales havent moved in 4 days now its actually frustrating me thinking ive stretch the pouch maybe or the band slipped,,if this is the case will i be in any sort of pain and discomfort?
