Lesson learned, starting over

Thank you both for the support, tomorrow is a new day. I am going to start a program through one of the hospitals here in town so I'm hoping it will help. Thanks again for your thoughts and support -
Lesson learned, starting over
Schwinngirl1987 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bad day today, went in for my three month check with my doctor. Seven pounds gained. In.a.month. O.M.G. How does one gain seven pounds in a month? Other than feeding ones face constantly. I finally realize I'm a junkie, a food addict. Nothing more, nothing less. So today I start over, six more months before my doctor will sign off on my surgery. I have to find a way to hold myself accountable. Long road ahead with so much to learn about myself. -
Hi April! I am in the, what I call, the "hoop jumping" stage of my journey. I have BCBS insurance which requires a 6 month physician followed diet program, I'm going in today for my 4 month doctor visit. I've met my surgeon for the first time and have had the psych eval (passed, yay!), saw a dietitian and have had a preliminary sleep study done. Whew! After all of that I can have everything turned into insurance to see if they will cover my surgery (fingers crossed). Then, I will get a surgery date. Where are you in your journey? I'm excited to get to meet someone else from Kansas, WELCOME!!

HI everyone, I'm Julie. Just starting my journey with WLS. Have seen my surgeon for the first time a week ago and have started all of the other testing I need to have done before surgery, pysch test, saw a dietitian, will have sleep study done soon as well. Just now in the middle of the 6 months of seeing my regular doctor every month for my insurance, two more appointments to go. I feel like I still have much to learn but am eager to get going with it although still no date set for my surgery, waiting for all of my hoop-jumping to be done first. I am anxious to get to know everyone and learn everything I need to make this journey successful. I have been obese since childhood and ready to not be anymore! Julie

Starting my journey

It sounds like you are well on your way and handling it very well! I hope to be as graceful, I've never been very good in disciplining myself so I have much to overcome before my surgery. I come from a long line of ladies who show love with food, I catch myself doing it to my own family too. It may just be the biggest obstacle I face during this time as I also love myself with food too. Am learning lots already and you are being a great help to me, Thank you !! -

Thank you! I am planning to and working through the process of having gastric bypass surgery. Almost there! I have two family members (in-law's) who have both had the surgery, I have learned from them but am finding this website to be even more than I hoped to find! Wishing you much success, I hope you are doing well since your surgery -
