jennynoblemiller started following soft food mistake?, 4th of July Challenge, Weight gain panic? and and 7 others

I was sleeved on April 23. I have been doing well, losing steadily and not panicking at the stalls. However, today I got on the scale and am UP 8 pounds from a week ago! Yesterday, I noticed I was hungrier than usual, but still only chose foods allowed on my plan (lean Protein and veg). I'm going to start workouts today, but this can't be normal! I am not premenstrual, so it can't be that. Eight pounds!!! How can this be?

Try getting the unflavored protein powders (unjury or syntax are good) and mix them into foods that are palatable to you.Unjury also makes a cheese sauce that is not bad on vegetables.

Eating to fast - any suggestions to slow down?
jennynoblemiller replied to ciscokidc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes, when I'm on the road for work, I don't have the luxury of a slow, mindful meal. On those days I stick with protein shakes. They keep me going until I can go home and eat a proper meal slowly. -
What are some ideal soft foods
jennynoblemiller replied to Keyshunda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not allowed any carbs, but I like turkey or chicken meatballs, sashimi, poached fish, whipped cottage cheese, cream of chicken soup with protein powder, baby belle cheese, hummus, scrambled eggs. -

help! I accidentally overate and I'm in a world of hurt.
jennynoblemiller replied to jennynoblemiller's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks all. I'm at a work dinner so was preoccupied. I thought two meatballs might be too many, but knew I'd stop when I was full. Then I got distracted and took that one bite too many. I tried to throw up, but it didn't work. I just walked and walked and am feeling better now. I'm not going to eat when I can't focus on how I feel. Lesson learned. -

I don't know this new sleeve yet, only for weeks out. I ate two meatballs and I am curled over in agony. What do I do now? -
PMS weight gain?
jennynoblemiller replied to jennynoblemiller's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you. So comforting!!! -
I knew that my forthcoming period might make me gain a pound or so, so I didn't get on the scale for two days. Stuck to plan, however, and kept walking. I'm still pre menstrual but got on this morning: up SIX pounds! This is so discouraging, and it makes me want to stay home in bed. This can't be normal!!!

soft food mistake?
jennynoblemiller replied to jennynoblemiller's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Point taken! This goes back to my head-love of food. I was always excited about all kinds of ethnic foods, and know in a few weeks I can start making these foods at home, with ground turkey and tofu. Today I'm sticking with shakes, yogurt, and scrambled eggs. Keeping it simple feels so much better in my body. It's just a mindset change: takeout was always a reward, as my husband can't cook. Thanks for the feedback. -

Protein while traveling & Disney Dining
jennynoblemiller replied to Sleeveless in seattle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be heading to Disney when I'm 8 weeks post-op. I'm also curious about how I'll deal with eating. I'm inclined to do shakes, only because the thought of having to wait before drinking in that hot weather sounds unbearable. But I'm eager to hear how others do! Please post after your return. Thanks, Jenny -
My surgeon wants me on ibuprofen. Says it's fine for sleeves, just not bypass. But I still have pain and an frustrated by feeling like some addict by asking for more pain medication. I meet so many people who never even filed their prescriptions, but I'm still in significant pain by the end of the day.

I'm on soft proteins. Tonight I tried Chinese takeout: tofu with ground pork. Ate about a half cup, which is more than I've been eating at one sitting. Felt fine. Waited the time I was told to drink (nut said half hour; I've been waiting 45). Right after, I was hungry again! This seemed strange, tried more water but still felt hungry. I figured I'd listen to my body, and had about 8oz of protein shake. Now I feel so close to throwing up I keep running to the toilet. Was the Chinese food to blame? Maybe it was greasier than I realized. Just trying to figure out this new stomach is crazy making. I think I'll do all shakes tomorrow. Anyone had any similar experience? Probably better to keep it really, really light and simple.

Struggling not to drink with food
jennynoblemiller replied to jennynoblemiller's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for your support. I certainly wasn't suggesting that I should drink with meals, just wondering how you get used to it, My surgeon says I only have to wait a half hour. In any case, it's tricky sometimes. I'm having a little trouble getting used to it, but I've only been on solids for four days! -
Struggling not to drink with food
jennynoblemiller posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is proving to be much harder than I expected! Given how long it takes to eat anything, I wind up going for about 90 minutes without liquid. Anyone have some strategies for making this easier? Thanks! Jenny
